IS CRIME ANISSUE AT QEGS
Introduction
I think crime is an issue at QEGS but mostly petit crimes such as small thefts and graffiti on a small scale. However there are some exceptions to this such as the recent burning (arson) in the boy’s toilets, large graffiti near studio and sometimes you hear about people taking illegal drugs but these are anomalies so I have decided not to use these in my graphs and results. In future I think school could learn from these incidents by placing cameras in blind spots and clearing out toilets before lessons to ensure no pupils are left UN watched during lessons. Also smoke alarms could be fitted in more places so a member of staff could be alerted quicker.

Personally I think the most common crime in QEGS is bulling and vandalism/graffiti I think this as they are easy to commit and hard to see by teachers unless they are really obvious. This is also why crimes like drugs and under aged smoking as you can smell cigarettes and see the effects of illegal drugs such as cannabis, cocaine and amphetamines. If the consequences were not so bad for being caught doing this sort of crime it would be far more common.
I also think that major crime rates are very low in QEGS as home lives of most students are calm safe and good and the families are reasonably wealthy so often pupils do not go out of control doing larger crimes.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion to this I think it shows that not many big scale crimes are committed although a lot of small (petit) crimes are committed the main one in class rooms is graffiti and at dinner there is littering, bullying, minor assaults and lots of theft from the canteen, so the school have done something about this and put a camera in there I think. this will lower the number but not completely stop it as people are very good at sneaking out certain things so the camera may not pick up on this. David

...This Send to Kindle Reddit This    [pic] The Life Of King David Religion Essay David was the second king of Israel and a descendant of Abraham. He was the youngest of eight brothers in his family (1Samuel 17:22) and was growing up as a shepherd (Bible Dictionary). He was the father of the well known king Solomon. In New Testament Jesus called as son of David. I am going to tell about David’s life before he became a king; a description of his way of becoming a king of Israel. As a king he was righteous and brave. However, as far as I am concerned, his life before becoming a king was also interesting to know. I have chosen to concentrate particularly on this part of his life, because at that point he seemed to be an ordinary person like an average shepherd, but his great faith and believe in God gave him such a strength and bravery, that he managed to become a famous hero and king in the Biblical story of Israel. The story of David begins in the Bible from the 16th chapter of 1st Samuel. David was the youngest son of Jesse, who was son of Obed. Also here we get information about his anointment by Samuel, who was a prophet before and had set Saul on throne for the United Kingdom. After that, David faced the first trial which defined his future. It was the war with Philistine. Philistines had one unbeatable warrior Goliath whom they sent to fight with any Israelite warrior. The end of their battle would define the winner. Goliath was a champion in Philistine army, he was tall...

"...And as I observed that this truth 'I think, therefore I am' (Cogito ergo sum) was so certain and of such evidence ...I concluded that I might, without scruple, accept it as the first principle of the Philosophy I was in search." "...In the statement 'I think, therefore I am' ... I see very clearly that to think it is necessary to be, I concluded that I might take, as a general rule, the principle, that all the things which we very clearly and distinctly conceive are true..."[1][2] While reading Descartes, Locke began to relish the great ideas of philosophy and the scientific method. On one occasion, while in a meeting with friends, the question of the "limits of human understanding" arose. He spent almost twenty years of his life on the subject until the publication of An Essay Concerning Human Understanding, a great chapter in the History of Philosophy.[3] John Locke's chapter XXVII "On Identity and Diversity" in An Essay Concerning Human Understanding (1689) has been said to be one of the first modern conceptualizations of consciousness as the repeated self-identification of oneself, through which moral responsibility could be attributed to the subject—and therefore punishment and guiltiness justified, as critics such as Nietzschewould point out, affirming "...the psychology of conscience is not 'the voice of God in man'; it is the instinct of cruelty ... expressed, for the first time, as one...

The Lottery

...Marlee Vlahos Liberty University DATE \@ "MMMM d, y" February 2, 2015 Young Goodman Brown & The Lottery A review of both stories In this essay I will take the time to review two stories both of the fiction nature. I will discuss the conflicts of both stories as well as the plot structure. I will talk about the characters and give my point of view. Both stories are very thought provoking which should make this very interesting to compare and contrast. In the story of “Young Goodman Brown” we can understand the setting from what the limited omniscient narrator is describing to us. The reader gets a visual of a spooky setting of dark woods in the nearby town of Salem. The first thing a reader would think of when they hear the word/place “Salem” is witches. So automatically becomes a Halloween type of feel. It is then discussed that the story takes place during the time of the witch trials. It is not spoken as to what season this takes place, but with the visual you get the reader can assume its fall. The forest, the time of the story and the location of Salem helps to make this story very believable. In “The Lottery,” we getting a different visual. As the reader the image you create of the setting describes is a small village in a small town in a very rural areal. The feeling you get from the setting described is a feeling of everything revolving around the good harvest of their crops. The author paints a setting of a town of people doing a lottery that you...

Reading Respone Lack of Electronic Etiquette

...Reading Response of Lack of Electronic Etiquette Michelle Singletary gave a very strong visual image of her stance on the issue of electronic use in public. The author used many examples that made this essay much more enjoyable to read. The issue presented is something we all need to spend some time and think about. As it not only affects us, but others in the society. It is time for us, to not be selfish and start thinking about others around us. I personally enjoyed this work of art as it was on a topic that actually occurs to me on a daily basis. Whenever I am sitting in a quiet place whether it be trying to study or relax, there always seems to be one person to disturb that moment. A majority of those people who ruin that time are, of course using their personal electronics. Another reason I do not like the constant use of electronics is because whenever I go to spend time with my friends, I usually end up getting annoyed. Due to the fact that they are constantly texting away, and not focusing on fun things we can do without the use electronics. This is a very important topic because it affects how we will act in the future. Nowadays there are so many that prefer to text people instead of meeting face to face or calling. Not only because it saves time but also it saves the effort it takes of having to go through all of the work. Imagine, how it will be in the future where humans communicate to each other electronically instead of verbally. It also disturbs the peaceful...

...THIS EXTRA LINE.] Since the very beginning of my days as a student, I have despised literature. English has always been a subject that I dreaded. I do not loathe literature solely for my lack of writing skills, because I do enjoy reading, rather it’s the fact that I tend to lose my train of thought while writing an essay or while brainstorming an idea I want to address. I struggle with organizing my thoughts and making concise relationsHIPS[?][CONNECTIONS?] between literary texts and the assignments given by my teachers. On Becoming a Writer

...2013 On Becoming a Writer 3 The main idea of the essay is the fact that the author always had the desire to be a writer but he was faced with the difficult of writing during his time at school, his English classes were very hard and confused. The others points I found on this essay is: * The author faced and thought that only the rich people could write and that being a writer as professional did not have a good future, but even that he had begun to think about being a writer. So in his third year at college things changed for him. * When his class assigned to Mr. Fleagle, he was waiting another sad and dull year because the Mr. Fleagle was recognized as a person with no inspiration, no glare, his way of dressing or even his physical characteristics made the students in the city do not have a good conception of Mr. Fleagle. * Another important point that the author cites in his essay is he was not disappointed for a long time, because he expected an antipathetic professor. Also he cites the teacher wanted his students to like Macbeth, but the teacher didn’t know how to influence the students’ whit that passion he had for Macbeth. The author makes a citation which one the teacher always used in the classroom and is very interesting “do not you see”, the author claims it as his teacher was placed in front of students in a tone of mild surprise ignorance of them. What I realized at the end of the essay is the author decides to break the rules and finally begins...

...ENGLISH ESSAY WRITING FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS 1. GENERAL ADVICE a. READ the title of the essay carefully and make sure that you understand it. If necessary, underline key words in the title. REMEMBER: if your essay does not cover the topic(s) proposed in the title, your mark will be very low. b. WRITE AN ESSAY PLAN. You can do this in English or in your mother tongue – but remember that you must be sure that you can express your ideas easily in English. In your essay plan you should note down specific vocabulary related to the topic. You should also write down any appropriate CONNECTORS (linkers). At first, you will find writing an essay plan difficult and time-consuming, but with practice it will save you time in the end and will also help you to organise your ideas in coherent paragraphs. ...what my tutors say about my essays. I’m not really sure what they mean.” “I thought I had written a really good assignment this time. I did so much reading and preparation for it, but my tutor’s feedback is ‘not enough argument.’ I’m not sure what to do now. I mean, I’m not an argumentative person - and I don’t really want to be.” One of the most important skills you will need to learn as a student, whatever your discipline is the ability to think critically and objectively about an issue and to present a well-constructed argument. Critical and analytical-thinking skills such as these will be essential to most aspects of your study, whether you are listening to lectures, contributing to seminars, or reading about your subject. Here, we will be focusing mainly on critical analysis for written work, as nothing gains or loses marks more for most student assignments than the quality of your written argument. Argument here doesn’t mean disagreement or unpleasantness. It simply means presenting a strong case to support a point of view. You don’t have to be an argumentative person to do this: on the contrary, good critical writing means using reasons and evidence to support your stand point. The first rule is: Identify the focus of the assignment Good critical analysis isn’t simply about writing. Before you start any assignment, you need to be clear about your focus. At university, this usually means thinking critically about the requirements of the essay, report, or of the seminar...

They address dozens of different essay topics. The applicants and their essays have been selected to give you the widest possible range of materials from which to profit. The first four applicants all applied to the University of Chicago. They were chosen by Chicago’s admissions director, Don Martin, according to my desire that they be from four very different people and of average quality for those admitted. In other words, these essays will show you exactly what you are competing against. They are of perfectly acceptable quality, but they should not discourage you. If you follow the lessons of this book you should be able to surpass each of these efforts. The second set of three applicants—Melissa, Doreen, and Carol—is taken from Columbia University’s files. Columbia’s admissions director, Linda Meehan, was asked to supply several applications, again from people of widely differing backgrounds, but this time of superior quality. I think that this group’s applications are of a somewhat higher...

...should bear in mind that information needs to be basic enough so that people of varied backgrounds can leave the conversation with the knowledge relayed in the writing. Some ways to accomplish this is by paying strict attention to; grammar, choice of font, language, punctuation, diction, and word usage. Those who wish to prepare documents for academia are responsible for their words and should approach the task with careful consideration. Wk2 DQ1 In what situations are compare-and-contrast essays effective? When would that style be ineffective? What is the difference? The situations preferable for using compare-and-contrast essays are when I am trying to win over client on business proposals. ...“Identity Essay” “Who am I?” I am Ashley. I am what I like and dislike. I am what I believe in. I am my choices and experiences. I am what I do. I am where I live. I am who others have made me to be and I am who I have chosen to be. Most people do not consider all of the different ways they can be identified. There are countless different things I would use to describe myself and taking this course has added numerous more descriptors to my identity. The widely accepted definition of culture from Devito does a wonderful job including the things I would use to define my culture. The definition states: “Culture is a relatively specialized lifestyle of a group of people (values, beliefs, artifacts, behaviors, ways of communicating)”. Those are all examples of different aspects of my life that I would use to describe myself. For me, my values and beliefs are a strong sense of who I am. I am also very openly supportive of my values and beliefs. I am not afraid to inform people about how I feel about an issue, whether it is politics or something in athletics. If there is something that I strongly support or I am strongly against people know. I feel that many other people would use my values and beliefs to describe me as well since I make them so known. Co-cultures do a brilliant job of helping to identify one’s culture. They each describe a different part of one’s identity and combine to form each person as a whole. I can define myself by using several different...

Essay I – on Two of the Ten Commandments

...Essay I – on two of the Ten Commandments I chose the Fourth and the Fifth Commandment for my essay, because they are the most important to me. Our society is still based on the commandments and therefore they set a big part in our life. The Commandments can be considered whether exegetical, or hermeneutical. The Fourth Commandment in Exodus 20:12 is: “Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” Mainly, honoring your parents means obey them when you are young and to take care of them when you mature, (Chan 74 -75). I have never thought about that the Fourth Commandment, it also demonstrates an important relationship between God and parents (Chan 74). Moreover, related to the covenant, the Fourth Commandment means that honoring the parent’s effects having a long life in the Promised Land, accordingly it is based on reciprocity (Chan 76). Furthermore, teaching and showing the own children how to behave to their parents and thus you treat your parents how you want to be treated by your own children (Chan 76). At that time, this commandment was very important, because old people who were not able to work anymore, they were dependent on their children, thus it was indispensable to their lives. Moreover, the commandment shows that the family is important and that women and men are equal, so it shows a big part of the community (Chan 76). Therefore, the effect of to honor the parents also contains “blessings...

Math Essay

...AMERICAN MATHEMATICAL SOCIETY Volume 30, Number 2, April 1994, Pages 161-177 ON PROOF AND PROGRESS IN MATHEMATICS WILLIAM P. THURSTON This essay on the nature of proof and progress in mathematics was stimulated by the article of Jaffe and Quinn, “Theoretical Mathematics: Toward a cultural synthesis of mathematics and theoretical physics”. Their article raises interesting issues that mathematicians should pay more attention to, but it also perpetuates some widely held beliefs and attitudes that need to be questioned and examined. The article had one paragraph portraying some of my work in a way that diverges from my experience, and it also diverges from the observations of people in the field whom I’ve discussed it with as a reality check. After some reflection, it seemed to me that what Jaffe and Quinn wrote was an example of the phenomenon that people see what they are tuned to see. Their portrayal of my work resulted from projecting the sociology of mathematics onto a one-dimensional scale (speculation versus rigor) that ignores many basic phenomena. Responses to the Jaffe-Quinn article have been invited from a number of mathematicians, and I expect it to receive plenty of specific analysis and criticism from others. Therefore, I will concentrate in this essay on the positive rather than on the contranegative. I will describe my view of the process of mathematics, referring only occasionally to Jaffe and Quinn by way of comparison. In attempting to peel back layers of assumptions...

... Since I am still a high school student, I have not yet achieved much. I still have many dreams and hopes that I am desperate to achieve. Some may be foolish while others are practical, either way I hope I have a chance to make my goals happen. According to the Death Clock I have until October 8, 2077 which will give me 63 years to try to live my life to the fullest. The first thing I want to accomplish is finish all of my schooling. That includes finishing high school, earning my under-graduate degree, completing an MD program, and finish the postgraduate residency program so I can become a Forensic Pathologist. Ever since I was a young girl, I have dreamed of working in the Forensics field. In that last two years I have decided I wanted to specifically become a Medical Examiner after giving it much thought. Even though most Forensic Pathologists have very unstable work hours, they have the highest pay and many cases provide a problem-solving challenge. My second goal would be to continually live a happy life. Though most people would think a happy life is something anyone easily can have, I believe it is not something one should take for granted. In the last couple of years of going to an all-girl high school, I have seen so many friends battle with depression and eating disorders due to the fact of not being happy with themselves or with their situation. I have even had to deal with the death of loved ones, both family and close friends. These experiences I have had...
