I Know Me Documentary

My Documentary will primarily focus on the identities of myself, and my two triplet sisters, Molly and Caroline. I will have interviews with my older sister, Hannah, and my parents, in order to paint a complete picture. The overall message of the documentary will be to show how three people, the same age, growing up in the same environment, can turn out to be very different. I think that the best way to accomplish this would be to shoot interviews, ask questions, and show our different hobbies/personalities.
I want to begin the documentary will a montage of old home videos/pictures and conclude the montage with short clips of us today. Then, I want to go straight into the interviews. I am going to start off with the most commonly asked questions like, “What’s it like to be a triple?”, “Can you read each other’s minds?”, and “Are you identical.” These questions would help to start the documentary by debunking some misconceptions about triplets in a lighthearted, fun way.
After these questions, I’ll add interviews with my parents and my older sister. For my parents, I want to ask questions like: “What was your immediate reaction when you found out you were going to have triplet.” I know they …show more content…
These interviews will make up the middle part of my documentary. During this middle part, my overall goal is to contrast how we share a unique bond as triplets, but we are all completely different people. Growing up, we were not always treated as separate individuals. We were usually referred to as, “the Foglia triplets”. Through this documentary, I can show that the way we were treated growing up has had a big impact on how we all developed our separate, and completely different, identities as young adults. I think that using some of the hobbies/interests that we share can help to show how we relate to one another, while also providing smooths transition to discuss our

I can attest to the fact that it is has been the greatest and most influential invention of the 20th century with the exception of the internet. My parents have been changing the television sets since they bought the first one in the 1970’s. Its development has really played a great role in most people lives. The quality of what is being aired on the television has really developed since the medium was introduced in the society. I always see the television as a good source of the most broadly-shared images and messages of the history. Advancement in technology has really transformed the ways of communication. Last month I asked my grandmother what it was like growing up without the television. She told me how they used to tell each other stories since it was the only way of keeping them busy on their free time. She also told me that they had messengers who used to deliver messages to the different communities. Introduction of the television has really changed this for the better. Viewing time and saturation has increased over the years. The television mass rituals have also become very strong and show no signs of weakening its hold. There have been introduction of new types of delivery...

Lunch At Subway: Documentary Analysis

...When one door closes, another one opens. You never know when good things might happen to you! The other day, I missed my train into Penn station. I was disappointed, but it was not the end of the world however. Noticing I had missed my train, a homeless man came up to me and asked me if I could spare him some money to buy lunch at Subway. I had nowhere I needed to be for the next 40 minutes until the next train and I always love to help those who are less fortunate than myself, so I said "sure." I bought the man an Arizona Iced Tea, and gave him $10 for lunch. But instead of him going off to Subway, he stuck around and we talked until my next train arrived. From our conversation, I learned that he has an amazing soul and is one of the nicest...

Analysis Of 13TH By Av Duvernay

...My reaction to the documentary on Netflix “13TH” by Ava DuVernay, opened my eyes tremendously and has made me realize what African American people have gone through, and still are going through until this day. Many people fail to realize that black people are being downgraded and treated differently based on the color of their skin, and not by their character or attitude. The documentary influenced me to believe that African Americans once wasn't accepted by whites at a period in time, and still till this day are not accepted. The documentary “13TH” was very interesting, and showed me the history, and struggle that African American people have experienced in their lives. The documentary views the challenges and unequalness African Americans...

Good Hair Film Summary

...Good Hair One of my new favorite documentaries is Good Hair directed by Jeff Stilson and starring comedian Chris Rock. It is a documentary on black women and the hair industry. Rock starts his journey on learning more about black hair after his daughter asked him whether or not she had good hair. Rock dove right into the black hair industry, examining everything from relaxers and weaves to the chemicals in relaxers and where weave comes from. The highlight of this video was that it examines what hair means to black women. A host of celebrities and professionals shared their insight on black women and their hair. I chose this video for my opinion paper because I have always been obsessed with black hair. From the time I was young I knew what a relaxer was and I knew not to talk about a family member’s weave out loud. I have learned so much...

The Eye in the Lens

...Toni Baldock 10 October 2012 The Eye in the Lens As a child, I loved looking at the pictures in the National Geographic magazine. I was intrigued by the cultural differences from around the world. I was amazed to see photographs of African woman bare breasted and comfortable with themselves. To me it has always been shameful for any women to be bare breasted because that was what I was raised to believe; that is the way of our culture. The magazine took me to many lands and showed me things I knew nothing about. This was when I became aware of the world around me. I realized I wanted to be a part of more than the town I lived in, the school I went to, or the people I knew. Through the eyes of documentary photographers I have seen the world from many different points of view, but I want to see the world in an intimate experience. I have a deep desire to engage with other cultures and capture moments that the rest of the world will be able to see through my photographs. I want to one day soon become a documentary photographer. Documentary photography is an effort to create a truthful expression of lives and cultures of our world and human actions. It can only be truthful and honest if it is left unedited and captures true events as they are happening. Hans Durrer is an author and intercultural coach. He describes photography as this: “Photography is still about the eye behind the lens. It is about being a filter, and it is about recording. It is about leaving one’s home...

Rosie The Riveter Analysis

...I understood who she was and her slogan “We Can Do It” which empowered woman, but I never knew the background of it. Of course, me being a woman, this enticed me and through this video, I had a desire to learn more in depth about the life of Rosie the Riveter. As for the role of Latinos in World War 2, I was caught by surprise over how many Latinos would give their life to serve for a country that treated Latinos as the lowest of the low. Although, I later understood that fighting in the war paid really well and most Latinos were in need of the money. The life of Macario Garcia was a perfect example. After receiving the Congressional Medal of Honor for his exceptional efforts in the war and being seen as a hero by the own president of the United States, he was refused service at a small café in Richmond, Texas. The idea that someone refused service to a man who shed blood, tears, and sweat so that the owners of that restaurant could live freely in the United States...

...Genetically Modified and Engineered Products Panacea or Poison? If you think you know everything about the foods humans consume on a daily basis, what you will come to find out might make you think twice about purchasing and consuming certain food products. The documentary “Panacea or Poison” is an informative documentary film about the ways in which scientists have found a way to alter the DNA (the blueprint of life) and produce a crop that is potentially stronger, and can fight the harmful diseases that it is exposed to on a daily basis. Although the scientists in this documentary believe that the genetic engineering of crops could potentially resolve the problem of world hunger, many people are beginning to question the health concerns of these products and the threat it puts on our environment. While some scientists are all for genetically engineered crops, some are totally against it because the industry has neglected to perform a single study about the ways in which these foods are safe for the population. This puts question on whether or not we are being used as experiments as we consume these bio tech nutritional supplements. Therefor the question throughout this film and in my mind, remains unanswered: What are the effects and risks of these genetically engineered and modified crops? Most people who are consuming genetically engineered products are not even aware of it because most of these products are not labeled because the Food and Drug Association do not require...

The film has been credited for raising international public awareness of global warming on our environment (Wikipedia). Douglas Guggenheim Researching a very successful Director/Producer who has produced several television dramas as well as Documentary films. I think by using AL Gore he was able to really grab the international audience as well. Living in Switzerland during the years around 9/11 I found out quickly what the Swiss people really thought of our Nation’s leaders. I found that the public opinion was particularly high when it came to two people Al Gore and Hillary Clinton. This leads me to believe combined with Al Gore’s passion for the environment combined with the his popularity thought Europe made him a perfect candidate for the part. I think wating for superman will have a huge impact on the public in the long run partly due to the world wide success “I think this will also send a long term message about the future wellbeing of the nation’s school systems. Secret State of North Korea

...The “Secret State of North Korea” is a documentary about the aggressive dictatorship of Kim-Jong-Un and the affects that it has on its people. The documentary shows people’s efforts to help combat the dictatorship by smuggling information from the outside world of North Korea to let people know how absurd the leadership is. It shows the conditions people are living in there and how they try and cope with the oppressive leadership. The documentary tells various different stories of people including an orphan that lived his life by having to try and pick pocket people in order to feed himself. He eventually was able to get out of the country and now is trying to pass information into the country to help others. The North Korean people are ruled to the point where the government controls the information that comes in, what they watch on television, and what they see on the internet. They are brought up to believe that America is the enemy and that everything that Kim-Jong-Un is doing is to better the country and is in the best interest of the people, when in reality Kim-Jong-Un doesn’t care at all about the people and him and his people are doing everything to maintain control for their own benefit. The punishments in North Korea are as severe as being killed or tortured for not following the rules, making conditions much worse. The primary social problem is as described the oppressive leadership and how the people of North Korea are being treated like insects instead of human beings...

Consumerism

...in my opinion is how to control the masses for the greater purpose of consumerism. Also the documentary kept stating that the purpose was also to control the animalistic behavior that every human being has inside them somewhere, waiting to be unleashed if not controlled properly. In regard to how human beliefs and values are formed in modern society, everything that I watched was true. Scary, but true. Public beliefs are formed through general belief of the crowd and/or people around you. It doesn’t matter what you think, it matters what everyone else thinks. It is eerily interesting to see how one man can bring thousands of people to act a certain way, to believe certain things, to make people buy things. Modern society is really just base off of the thoughts, values and beliefs of whoever is running the show at the time. Whatever the politicians and businesses need you to be thinking and feeling at any point and time is what is going to be portrayed everywhere around you. It is sad if you think about it. Being controlled by society instead of being a part of it to help make a difference. It made me want to never turn my television on again. The relevance of the subconscious/conscious mind as it relates to mass consumerism is quite simple. He who controls the masses control the market. I say that because in that is what I took away after watching the documentary. The documentary showed you that if you can appeal to the human beings subconscious/unconscious mind then it...

These Nuts!

...truly frightening to know that our food system has not only gotten to such an extreme point, but that we did it. We as consumers allowed this to happen and we endorsed these multi national companies by purchasing their products. My economics teacher last semester made a proposition that would actually solve the obesity problem. He said that (as it was also mentioned in the movie) people buy fast food and junk food because it is cheaper and in this economy people are cutting back. These fast food places have “dollar menus” and other such ways to save and are convenient for many people. Well, he proposed that if we put a tax on fast food it will be more expensive than the wholesome fresh foods that are good and healthy for us. It’s ironic; in the old days being overweight was an indication of financial class. It meant that the (generally) man was rich. This documentary was correct in pointing out though, that obesity is linked to economic class in that lower class families can’t afford fresh foods when there is fast food that is not only more convenient but cheaper. It is disturbing and wrong that consumers were kept in the dark for so long and intentionally lied to about what was in their food and where it came from along with the possible effects on their person. E.coli outbreaks are rampant and we never know when it could strike. That has kept me off meat (ground beef specifically). I have been off meat for about a month and after watching this documentary I will stay off meat...

Reaction Paper About Prostitution In Tokyo

...1.Have you ever think about underage prostitution is happening around you? The documentary that I choose. It overthrew all my understanding of the society in Tokyo. 2. The issue in this documentary is there is a lot of underage prostitution going on in Tokyo which is the capital of Japan. Most school girls are to be coerced into joining the industry, sometimes because they are homeless, having troubled homes, or feel isolated at school. There are a lot of reason that can cause these girls involved in the underage prostitution. Those girls are rent by the hour and providing a range of services to adults. Most customers often exploit their privacy with the girls to pressure them for sex or outright assault them. The big issue behind that is Japan is a sexist society and girls joining this industry is base on their family situation and how the society that is treating them. Almost all the screen and advertising posters are some young girls who dress very sexy which show that there is some pornographic message...
