...Star wars is a mighty film in this industry that has overcome many obstacles throughout history. One of the main issues that has come up time and time again would be the issue of World View. George Lucas the director and creator of the movie Star Wars a New Hope, is constantly questioned if he put religion into the mix when he created the movie. Lucas has claimed “That the Force is not an alternative religious option, and certainly not the religious option, but is instead little more than a plot device to allow certain aspects of the fantasy to develop,” as stated from bethinking’s article on the force. As people watch the movie, are there any hidden messages that could be found guiding one's world view? Some say Buddhism is very prevalent while others point out the many parallels Christianity has with the creation of the Force. Analyzing both viewpoints, Christianity has more examples and support, as the worldview over Star Wars a New Hope. The Force is a religion that is created in the movie that Lucas molds from major religions including Christianity. For example the movie molds Christian sayings like “May God be with you” to “May the Force be with you” as pointed out from John McDowell in his article for Bethinking. ...So, I’m going to have to do to this one what I did to the first one, and again, I fully acknowledge the Plinkett reviews as a source for me to draw from. The big difference here is that while I was more than willing to give a little leeway to The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones gets no such love. Plain and simple: this movie was terrible. The Direction First and foremost, we need to remember one big thing about the first 3 movies: only one was directed by George Lucas. The other 2 were done by directors Lucas respected (Kershner and Marquand). These movies are 100% Lucas and, in the case of Clones, he elected to direct a movie that was nearly entirely filmed against a green screen. This allowed him to do filming of characters against a blank canvas while allowing him to basically design whatever world he wanted around them. Green screens had long been used for special effects and matte fills, but hadn’t been used this heavily at this time. While Episode II wasn’t a full “digital backlot” film, there were tons and tons of shots that had actors doing their thing with nothing around them but green cloth. The upside here is that digital backlots can save a lot of money in film production since you don’t have to build sets that are either very complicated (aka “expensive”) or utterly impossible. The downside is that if your director isn’t, you know… an actor’s director, the actors all end up like they’re acting in front of a bunch of green cloth because they have nothing...

Whether they are between nations, people or corporations there have always been great rivalries in our past and will be many more on through our future. Very commonly the supporters feel very strongly about which side they have chosen and will go to great lengths to support their claim. In the infinite battle between the Jedi order and the Sith, we face this age old dilemma of: “Who is better?” Within the Star Wars universe, Sith vs. Jedi is also often referred to as the light side vs. the dark side of the force. Nowhere in its history is one labeled as good or evil. The improvement of technology has greatly improved the quality of movies, for instance the continual progress of CGI alone can allow a producer to make the most impossible things become a reality for a movie. For a good example I will simply use the Mission Impossible Film franchise, when the first film was produced in 1996 CGI had not come as far along as it is in the most recent installation Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocal (2011). It created the Force, and expressed a new set of ideas. While many came to believe that in Star Wars, the Force resembled God, it really did not. Many also thought that the Force was based on the twentieth century worldview, once again, it did not. Through analyzing the Force with the twentieth century and the Biblical worldview, it is clear that the Force has no resemblance to God and that its worldview is not part of the twentieth century or the Biblical worldview.
