Reading happens to be the most important factor in everyone’s live. Every subject and every aspect of a person’s life involves reading. According to Shanahan and Shanahan (2008), “Reading is commonly viewed as a basic set of skills, widely adaptable and applicable to all kinds of texts and reading situations.” Teachers have a responsibility to ensure that each student that enter their present have a strong foundation in reading. The bible identifies teacher’s roles in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All scripture is breathed out of God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. Teachers have a responsibility to ensure they provide instructions that will promote growth for all students. Although students have various learning styles, teachers can successfully teach reading through differentiated instructions. Many teacher fail to integrate reading into their subject because they often feel like they do not have the tools need to successful implement the content area (Wilson, 2011). In this paper, I will address the how ideal reading programs for first grade students should include phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension to ensure the success of each student in reading.

...with one stone.” The stone was abolishing the five sentence per paragraph policy. The two birds represented writing techniques and understanding how to express myself into a paper. Unfortunately, the only English classes I have ever taken in my higher education were English 102 and English 103. From what I can recall, I was intellectually thinking and writing constantly about my opinions on certain topics. The implementation of doing self-evaluations through writing assignments help me drastically. I was conscious about making sense instead of writing remarkably. Is the...

Ethics Paper

...Write a Paper About Nothing Posted on February 22, 2010 · in How-To Writing classes tell students a lot of things. A great many of these things are true, if you’re one of those outmoded models with a “drive to learn” (it hurts to type it) or are one of the poor souls to major in a topic with the word “literature” attached to it. For the rest of us, a different model of writing is necessary. Specifically, a model of writing that can be applied at 1 AM with a hangover and a dozen different assignments due the following morning. As firm believers in sloth and vigilant guardians against that daemon known as effort, Tiger Mag is here to help. The following is a guide to writing a paper just marginally worth the ink used to print it. Carry it with you in dark places, and even darker deadlines. Step 1: Brainstorming Or rather, a lack thereof. A key element of the Tiger Mag academic writing method is a complete and utter lack of forethought and preparation. If your citations go further than the first ten search results on Google, you’re probably overdoing it. Step 2: The Un-Thesis As you might have guessed, the un-thesis is the antithesis of the thesis. After saying that aloud five times, you might wonder just what exactly that means. But that enigma is the sheer brilliance of the un-thesis: it means nothing. The un-thesis is simply an excuse to ramble for six pages on any related topic that happens to cross your mind as you tap futilely away at your keyboard. The ideal un-thesis...

...My Writing Process in Contrast Writing is a skill required for many aspects of life and being able to write well can set you up for success. Although my writing process is not always the most efficient, as I further my education my abilities strengthen and my writing becomes more proficient. One of the first things I do when I begin a written assignment is put myself in my ideal situation for focus. Weirdly enough for me that setting is most commonly a coffee shop or occasionally a public library. Being in the comfort of my home is too relaxing for me to manage getting any work done. I never write at a lightning fast pace, actually, I might write a little more slowly then I should. When I am writing I typically do not have a long stream...

Also according to this study, the digital book and digital media in general should know a better situation and favorable growth in the coming years, most users remaining faithful to the paper (including books), seeing the new devices with only additional functions. In addition, unlike the music industry or the audiovisual industry, there are very few parallel market, where users can illegally download works. If this phenomenon were to grow, then it may be as difficult for the publishing industry as the entertainment industry. Currently, there are three main schools of thought on the so-called traditional print media and its evolution towards digital media. ...Kinetic Theory Objectives • Describe how the kinetic-molecular theory is used to explain how gases behave at different temperatures. (Exploration 1) • Analyze data that shows how gas particle mass affects that gas’s behavior. (Exploration 2) • Describe the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution. (Explorations 1 and 2) Description of Activity The kinetic-molecular theory states that a collection of gas molecules’ average kinetic energy has a specific value at any given temperature. In this activity, you will study how temperature and gas particle mass affect the frequency distribution of gas particle speeds. You will examine and analyze speed frequency distribution graphs. This distribution is called the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution. Jump Start 1. What is kinetic energy? 2. What is thermal energy? 3. What happens to a gas’s thermal energy as that gas’s temperature increases? 4. What happens to the average speeds of the particles in a gas when one increases that gas’s temperature? Safety Discussion If you conduct this experiment in a laboratory setting, be aware that gases heated in a closed container could result in the container exploding. Exploration 1: The Effect of Temperature on Gas Behavior Procedure 1. Choose any gas from the list box. 2. Set Temperature to any value. Observe the shape of the frequency distribution of speeds graph. Sketch this graph. Record...

...What impression do we get of Crooks here? Crooks is known by his disability. This is represented when the narrator says ‘crooks the negro stable buck’. This suggests that not much respect is shown to Crooks because he has been labelled by his disability. The fact that we are unaware of Crooks real name proves this. Furthermore, he is also known by his race “negro”. This implies that Crooks is racially segregated from other ranch workers. He shares most of his room with the Horses belongings. ‘Both for himself and the horses’. In my opinion, this shows how unfairly the boss treats Crooks. This is because he already has a little room as it is and because he is a permanent ranch worker he needs a lot of room. If most of the room will be covered by the Horses belongings there won’t be a lot of room for Crooks possessions. Due to Crooks disability, he is a permanent ranch worker. This meant that he could leave his things lying around with anyone having a say. ‘Accumulated more possessions than he could carry on his back’. My interpretation of this Crooks has a lot of possessions which he has but only has a little room to them all in. Previously in the novel we are aware that Crooks is unable to socialise with the other ranch workers. He has been isolated because of his skin colour. Therefore ‘he kept his distance and demanded other people had kept theirs’. This tells the reader how upfront and close minded of a character Crooks is. Crooks also has a book called the “California...
