The topic I am going to explore is: incentive strategies for managers and executives. This falls into the category of “leadership skills” for top corporate managers. As we know, leadership skills are vital for corporate CEOs, and how to work out efficient incentive programs is a challenging task faced by every CEO. Why are some companies more efficient than others and how can the employees and managers be motivated towards the achievement of the corporate goals? To answer these questions, I have to look into the mechanisms of the incentive system. The successful management of a company larges hinges on the motivation strategies for their managers and executives. If the CEOs fail to devise a workable and feasible incentive strategy, the managerial level will lack motivation and thick will lead to a sluggish working environment. In the absence of a highly successful incentive program, the efficiency of work flow will be severely hampered and it will be very had to expect the employees to be innovative in their work performance. And in case the managers and executives lack motivations and are denied incentives, a CEO cannot expect them to motivate their subordinates, consequently leading to the reduced performance of the employees. My research paper is going to address all the above issues.
The related issues I am going to elaborate include: 1) A profile of incentive programs in leadership skills; 2) why incentives are important for CEOs; 3) the mechanisms and roles of incentives; 4) how CEO can stipulate workable incentive programs; 5) factors to be considered in the stipulation of incentive programs; 5) what specific incentive forms can be considered during the stipulation of such programs; 6) common pitfalls in the conventional incentive programs.
