Some people say organizational output is affected by individual behavior. To examine the statement, let us firstly take a look at individual behavior.

2.2.3 Counterproductive Work Behaviors (CWBs)
Counterproductive work behaviors are known as voluntary behaviors that have the potential to directly or indirectly harm the organization1. These behaviors can be intentional or unintentional and result from a wide range of underlying causes and motivations. The variety of acts that are considered CWBs has led to attempts by researchers to create a coherent typology of CWBs. One four-class typology of CWBs divided the CWBs into the following categories:
1. Production deviance - involving poor attendance behaviors like leaving early, intentionally working slow, or taking unnecessarily long breaks;
2. Property deviance - involving sabotage of equipment, theft /destruction of property, and taking kickbacks;
3. Political deviance - involving showing favoritism, gossiping, or blaming others; and,
4. Personal aggression - involving harassment, verbal and physical abuse, misuse of information, time and resources, and endangerment.

Without these connections people would be able to better protect themselves from harm, but they would also be lost. In chapter four of the novel Connected the authors discuss the connections that are directly and indirectly made by people. Different situations such as, the passing of STDs, behavior while eating, smoking and drinking, and contagious suicide are examples have the ability to be both directly and indirectly connected. One harmless connection can cause a chain reaction, and before long many more people are involved. A connection between two people may seem insignificant; however, these connections cause others to experience similar situations. Connections in Sexual Relations Sexual relations are a form of connection. One person may have relations with one person, who has relations with another person, and so on. This type of connection is an indirect connection, meaning a couple’s friends’ friends’ friend can affect the original couple. STD’s are spread indirectly through a community. Supposing that couples follow the no-partner-swapping rule then theoretically, a person could contract an STD from another person through five connections.
