Re: Implementation of New Companywide Compliance System and Policies

Comments:
Since Riordan Manufacturing is showing such quick growing expansion potential and opening new branches worldwide it is imperative that we institute a new companywide compliance system. With that new compliance system new policies will also be introduced. It is imperative that all senior management and department heads are thoroughly trained in the new system and policies in order to properly train their staff. This project and the training it encompasses will henceforth be referred to as Icarus Project.
Stakeholders
While the Icarus Project will impact all employees companywide its main focus will be on the senior management and department heads. Management is affected directly as they will be the ones physically attending the training sessions. The branch employees will not immediately be affected as they will not begin being trained until the management have been fully trained in the new compliance system and policies. The CEO of Riordan Manufacturing will need to be kept in the loop and updated regularly on the progress of the training sessions and will provide feedback and constructive criticism when or if necessary. It will be required that all management personnel train for a minimum of 15 hours on the new system. The classes regarding the new policies will be a separate entity and will consist of three one hour classes.
Objectives & Scope
Ultimately the Icarus Project will integrate the new compliance system companywide in all branches worldwide. The project will provide qualified teachers who will instruct

Steps to Writing a Grant Proposal

...A grant proposal is a representation of a program plan. A plan indicates the approach the applicant will use to identify the needs or problems. A grant proposal has several major sections that outline the program plan: the abstract, table of contents, specific aims/background and significance/needs and problem statement, target population, approaches and methods, activity plans and scheduling (timeline), agency capacity and program management, budget and budget justification, evaluation plan, (Yuen/Terao, 2003). An abstract is a summary of the contents within the grant proposal. It consists of 45 lines, but one page is recommended. Contradictory to one another, the abstract is the shortest part of the proposal, but also the most important and most read. An abstract, to any piece of writing, is typically the go-to piece to read so there can be avoidance of reading something that may not be of interest to the reader. Better yet, it provides that first impression for anyone who reads it. The following are included in the contents of the abstract of a grant proposal: agency name and the type of organization it is, the purpose and objectives of the project, specific interventions for the project, target population such as race, demographic, age, gender, special needs, location and setting of the project, and the relevance of the proposal to the funding source (Yuen/Terao, 2003). Considering that the abstract is the most important piece as well as a summary for the proposal, it is...

...Resource Assignments Delivery, Project and Resource Managers, Portfolio Managers, Planners The Hewlett-Packard Project and Portfolio system has been reconfigured to reflect the recent organizational changes for the 2008 Development Annual Plan (DAP) and operating calendar Framework and Background The conceptual design of the HP-PPM system revolves around resource utilization and optimization. The system process and objects include: 1. Resource Pools – collection of individuals with a common resource manager responsible for “allocating” resources to approved work initiatives. Each resource (person) is tagged with a specific “Role” (think of this as a capability or area of expertise; not specific skill) and is assigned to a Resource Pool. This pool then acts as a supply and demand center for all work initiatives requiring that “Role”. Each resource is assigned a “capacity” (typically 40 hours per week), which establishes the “supply” side of the demand management equation. A Resource Pool may contain more than one Role, or set of individuals. In our case, the Resource Pool has been established at the Department (budget) level, so there are 7 primary (contains assignable resources) resource pools in IT: ➢ Product Technology Enterprise Governance ➢ Information Strategy Product Development ➢ Technical Operations Business Services ➢ Enterprise Architecture Pools for Program...

Case Study 2

...Assignment: Due Week 5 This is a two part assignment. Part 1 First, develop project selection criteria and a high level process for applying the criteria and managing the portfolio. The criteria should be consistent with the business environment for the industry, consistent with your company's overall mission/strategies, and consistent with the mission and strategies of your strategic business unit. You are proposing a process, not individual projects. The deliverable for Part 1 is a written proposal for the project selection criteria and a high level description of a proposed portfolio management process. You may also be expected to make an informal presentation of the report in class. The proposal should be in the form of a memorandum to your Vice President (your instructor) outlining your proposal. The memorandum should be no more than 10 pages, including any figures and tables. It should be double-spaced, 10 or 12 point font with one-inch margins. This is a summary for an executive, so be concise, to the point, and leave out the fluff. If you don't need 10 pages to document your proposal fully, I am sure that your Vice President will be happy with less as long as it is complete. Using appropriate grammar, spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure will be part of your grade. The actual proposal should include the following: 1. A description of the proposed portfolio process. You are explaining it to the executives. 2. The reasons it was selected (tie to...
