I would like to tell you some interesting about the Badlands National Park. It is truly a wonderful place to go. The Badlands National Park was established on January 25, 1939, but it wasn’t a national park until November 10, 1978. The amazing terrain of the Badlands is 244,000 acres of eroding canyons.

History In 1942, the Badlands National Monument was used as a gunnery and firing range for World War II soldiers. The first people to cross the Badlands were mammoth hunters around 10,000 years ago. Ancient animals such as the rhino and saber-toothed tigers used to live in the canyons. The Badlands has 39 mammal species, 9 reptile species, 6 amphibian species, 206 bird species, and 69 butterfly species. They have also reintroduced 4 animal species- American bison, mountain bighorn sheep, black-footed ferrets, and swift foxes.

Things to do Some things to do is driving the Badlands Highway 240 Loop Road which takes you on a 40 mile drive to see the beautiful canyons. You can also go to the Ben Reifel Visitor Center where you can touch fossilized animal casts and interact with the White River Badlands paleontology. You may also come here to hike so you can exercise but still get great views of the rugged terrain.

Things to see At the Badlands National Park at night, you can see the glorious view of the Milky Way and its numerous stars. You may also see the purple, yellow, tan, gray, red, orange, and white colors of the terrific and ordinary canyons layers.

I believe that the Badlands National Park is a national treasure because of the beautiful layers in the spiraling canyons throughout the whole park and because of the beauties in nature that you can absorb there. I also believe that it is very valuble because of what history lies in the unique eroding canyons

For Isabella and Calista Stone When you are eighty years old, and in a quiet moment of reflection narrating for only yourself the most personal version of your life story, the telling that will be most compact and meaningful will be the series of choices you have made.
