Integration of Faith and Learning I
The Coca-Cola Company has long been an icon in the business realm due to both their product and their ingenious marketing campaigns. Finding a means to become number one in any given industry sometimes uses an entirely different marketing approach than remaining number one. Coca-Cola has found the right mixture to make their iconic brand recognizable the world-over. Remaining in this position for such a long time has to trickle down from the leadership atop the Coca-Cola’s leadership. Had Coca-Cola had leadership that did not have the character to lead the company towards a continuously promising destination, then the company could have faltered long ago. It is written “Do not be misled: bad company corrupts good character” ("Corinthians 15:33, niv,").
Knowing this, one can assume that the leadership at Coca-Cola, though not presumed to be perfect, has the character to keep their company steered in the right direction in order to provide for a prosperous and continual future. The marketing approach of Coca-Cola will be a reflection of leadership, and this reflection is that of a company that seeks to spread cheer and joy throughout the world. This point is evident in their touching and heart-warming marketing campaigns throughout the holidays, not only in America, but other countries worldwide.
Commercial ads in America depict the relationship between family, or that of Santa Clause and the Holiday season surrounding Christmas. This approach is not simply a means to reach out and market to the masses. This approach is a shadow of the leadership’s thoughts and character as they are the governing bodies approving the message and what it stands for. If the leadership was lacking

Integration of Faith and Learning Ii: Joshual 1:9

...Integration of Faith and Learning II: Joshua 1:9 Verse 1:9 in Joshua says the following, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go” (ESV). As Christians we believe our God is always faithful and keeps his word no matter what, in fact in my heart, I believe when it comes to having a strong brand, none are stronger than my God. When we look at the definition of Marketing management, “the art and science of choosing target markets and getting keeping, and growing customers through creating, delivering, and communicating superior customer value” (Kotler & Keller, 2013) we see the focus is on selling and/or maintaining brand loyalty for your product which is not always an easy thing to do. In order to be effective in marketing management you must have courage, that same courage that God spoke to Joshua about having as the leader of the Israelites. As a new leader (of millions of people), Joshua faced incredible uncertainty, would the people of Israel follow him or would they resist and speak out against him as they did with Moses. Joshua could not allow this uncertainty or fear of failing prevent him from trying, just as with leading a marketing campaign, you must be willing to take risks, react quickly and decisively to challenges or changes in the market. For example, during the start of the recession in 2008 many companies understood that most Americans would...

...solving similar issues. Most of these markets are very competitive because of overlapping focal points of the manufactured goods being provided to the customer. Examples of vertical markets are: insurance, real estate, banking, heavy manufacturing, retail, transportation, hospitals, and government. Vertical market relation is the process in which several steps in the production and/or distribution of a product or service are controlled by a single company or entity, in order to increase that company’s or entity’s power in the marketplace (Dharma, 2009). There are basically 3 classifications of Vertical Integration namely: Backward integration where in the company tries to own an input product company. Forward integration the business tries to control the post production areas, namely the distribution network. Like a mobile company opening its own Mobile retail chain. Balanced integration a mix of the above two balanced strategy to take advantages of both the worlds. In the external analysis customers play a key role because of their characteristics determine the firm’s market opportunities (Dharma, 2009). It is the glory of God to conceal things, but the glory of kings is to search things out (Proverbs 25:2 AMP). External analysis point out possible customers for the firm and leads the manager in deciding the rights goals. And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens...

Governance & Moses Pava

...Faith-Full Leadership, Ethics and Accountability: Using the work of Moses Pava to enforce the need for moral leadership and governance The general rationale of this paper is quite simple: moral leadership and moral governance matters. It has taken me the entire semester and the detailed reading of the book, Leading With Meaning: Using Covenantal Leadership to Build a Better Organization by Moses Pava (2003) to help me make the solid connection between operational (structural) governance and moral/ethical governance. If the reader of this paper is an enlightened, educated academic, this point may not have a significant impact. On the other hand, if the reader is a “typical” lay practitioner, the point of this paper, supported by evidence provided by Pava (and the other cited resources) might offer a deep and long lasting influence which could possibly change how the reader thinks and acts in matters related to organizational leadership and governance. I was able to make many connections between the Pava text and the Sison (2008) text that helped me better understand how Sison is interpreting Aristotle in today’s complex global business world. I have cited several of these cases to help the reader make a solid connection between structure, intent morality, ethics, accountability and corporate motives. I typically use colored “flags” to note important points and passages in a book I am reading for meaning. After reading the Pava (2003) text, I looked back and saw over fifty...

...the scripture, one can find the word “Christian” used three times in the New Testament (Acts 11:26; 26:28; 1 Peter 4:16). The Reformation Study Bible (n.d.) defined Christian as “a person belonging to or following of Christ” (para. 1). Therefore, a Christian possesses these characteristics depicted in the CCU Statement of Faith (n.d.): believing in the authority and inerrancy of the Bible, believing in the trinity, believing in the deity and the work of Christ in salvation of mankind, believing in the work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of the believers, and believing in the spiritual unity in the believers and the eternal damnation of the unbelievers (para....

Integration of Faith and Learning - Character

...Integration of Faith and Learning I - Character Richard A. Ray Liberty University – BUSI 520 Integration of Faith and Learning I - Character What is Character? As defined by Merriam-Webster character is “a set qualities that are shared by many people in a group, country, etc.” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). When you are dealing with a product that you are trying to market you have to come up with ways to draw your customers in and create that trust in you and what you say. If you have a reputation of putting out poor quality things then it can and will be very difficult to sell any item. Whereas on the other hand if you have developed a reputation of being honest and trustworthy then when you market your product the consumer will be more likely to purchase that product. Individuals within a company are what make that company. If those individuals have a poor character then the overall performance of the company can be poor and not last long. The bible says in Matthew 23:25, 26 “25What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish but inside you are filthy – full of greed and self-indulgence! 26You blind Pharisee! First wash the inside of the cup and the dish, and then the outside will become clean too.”(New Living Translation, 2014). So in order to have the appearance of good we must be good from within. If a company is built on honesty and its employees are hired with these...

Intergrative Approaches to Psychology and Theology by Entwistle

...CHRISTIANITY 1 Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity PSYCHOLOGY and CHRISTIANITY 2 Abstract This entire book explains how the two books of God can be consolidated to provide the needs of the whole man. The author stated that all truth is God’s and everything that he made was good. Psychology is the study of human behavior and theology is the study of religion; both perspectives are disciplines that are learned. Integration will allow a better understanding of human behavior which neither perspective can do along. Since the Christian faith could not support man along, the mentally challenged suffered. Critics stated that the Christian faith did not keep Bible law concerning love and acceptance of homosexuality; the faith didn’t have the science or intellect to cure sickness, distorted perceptions and mental defects. Sin brought the fall of man and brokenness; yet, science through testings, assumptions, methods, experiments and discoveries were needed to fully care for humans; a holistic approach was needed to cure man. The Church was challenged to provide supreme knowledge to care for souls which lead to many new worldviews which were made up of disciplines that governed people’s lives. These worldviews have Enemies and Allies which were obstacles to integration. The Church accepted psychological...

Guiding Young Minds

...God’s kingdom. I believe that my role as educator is to help foster that relationship through a mentor/disciple relationship. Below is an explanation on how I intend to achieve this goal. Guiding Young Minds towards Biblical Truth According to John Dewey (1997), “education is the process of facilitating learning. Knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits of a group of people are transferred to other people, through storytelling, discussion, teaching, training, or research. As an educator it is our job to guide the young minds entrusted to us to a greater understanding of the subjects we teach through formal instruction. A teacher will facilitate this instruction on the basis of a teaching philosophy they have developed about teaching and learning. Being a teacher is a lifestyle, a love, a passion, and a calling, not a job. Being a Christian educator has an even greater importance however, because not only are they responsible for ensuring learning and growth academically, but also of spirituality and faith. Therefore, I believe that to educate the whole child, both academically and spiritually, the Bible has to be the foundation of truth. From this truth all learning can be...

A New Paradigm in Management Training

...A new paradigm in management training Dr J. A. MacAskill, Dean, Dr Muhammad Farmer, Director St James’s Business School, 23 King Street, London SW1Y 6QY INTRODUCTION Graduates, perhaps at no other time in an economic cycle, require the ability to integrate and transfer their conceptual understanding to novel situations in a practical way. The context in which one learns is a formative experience in promoting knowledge transfer. If knowledge is taught in one dimension then it intrinsically places a barrier to adaptive and flexible learning and its application. Alternatively, knowledge acquisition taught in multiple contexts promotes a student’s ability to assimilate, analyse, articulate and implement action plans. This ability to extract knowledge and abstract the concepts and principles relevant to any given situation is undoubtedly promoted through a more flexible multi-context presentation of knowledge. Furthermore, in a management and leadership development context it presents information in a form that will be more relevant to executive work patterns and operational requirements. In an educational sense this requires commonality of experience and the conceptual frameworks of the learners and their tutors to ensure that the ability to move easily between the cognitive elements being described and the desired practical outcome is achievable. At the centre of British Institute of Technology and E-commerce (BITE) educational philosophy lies the concept of...
