GE 0024: QEP Assignment
Industry Job Analysis I am applying for the Interior Designer for CAD position at Design Lines, Inc located in Denver, Colorado. I feel that I can excel in this position because I am highly proficient in AutoCAD, version 2008 and higher, and I possess knowledge of local codes, including ADA and Title 24. I have years of experience in hospitality, commercial, and the retail industry. Most importantly, with an interior design firm where I did my internship. I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham where I graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. My verbal, written, and visual communication skills are certainly outstanding, and I thrive off of working independently, but I also know how to work close team relationships. Design Lines, Inc. states that they are looking for a candidate that is proactive, creative, and wants to join a passionate team of professionals, thankfully, in which I possess all of these qualities. I am able to produce a full set of construction drawings for both new construction and remodels, while working with and manipulating multiple XREFs. I understand that my responsibilities will include, but not limited to, Millwork details, design, construction administration, selection of materials, finishes, and elevation details. I am very strong in design documentation and client communication. I am also familiar with construction and interior design and its relationships to other trades, and work well with other consultants. I am very energetic and highly motivated with a strong work ethic; and while doing all of the stated job duties, I can also handle a large volume of multiple projects at once with a very high attention to detail. Working well with my clients is essential. While interning I had the awesome chance to have one of my dreams come true and meet Hilary Farr, a native citizen of Toronto, Ontario and co-host of HGTV’s Love It or List It with David Visentin. I’ve always admired her abilities and work and since knowing her we’ve grown close and she’s now my mentor. Hilary has watched me create several blueprints and put them in AutoCAD to bring them alive in a 3D layout. I remember her telling me “Iesha, for you to just be starting off in the ID industry, you sure do know a lot about the technicalities and aesthetics of it as if you’ve been doing this for years!” This was absolutely amazing to hear coming from someone who I’ve admired for so long. I also had the chance to meet Martin Brudnizki who belongs to the young generation of interior designers who come from all over the world and are attracted by those two poles of the world of interior design: London and New York. After designing a few homes and coffee shops he was definitely intrigued by my work. He would always joke around and say “Girl, I’ll hire you to be apart of my team, but your work is so good, I’d rather you start your own design firm and do your thing. Let your creative juices continue to flow.”
Schmoop.com says to begin an interior design career, you will need a bachelor’s degree with a focus on interior design (you’ll want to have some architecture, drawing, and computer-aided design classes under your belt before you graduate). To become licensed, you will need to pass an exam administered by the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification). You can’t even take the exam until you have obtained your design degree, and in some states until you have racked up two years of real-world design experience. While it isn’t a requirement, it’s also a good idea to become a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), which will connect you with others in your field, keep you in the loop on current trends and innovations, and give you yet another card to find a place for in your wallet.
Thank you for giving me the pleasure and opportunity to be here with you today. I hope that you will take me and the illustrious qualities I possess in great consideration. I feel that I would be a phenomenal asset to your company and that you will see an abundant amount of growth to the business.

Theory-Architecture

...Theory of Architecture 2: Manuals Architectural Design Process and Methodologies The question of the actual design process and methodology of design is more confusing when dealing with architectural design because architectural design more often involves in a team work. Before, most architects are considered more of an artist; they can design but was not able to explain or defends the need to add a significant amount of funds for the particular design. In today’s architectural trends, there are set of rules and guidelines to be followed that could affect or help in making a design. The process should involve the following step. [TSSF Inc.] 1. Assemble the team – As stated above the architectural design involves a team of people. At the outset of the project there should be a scheduling or at least a tentative assembly of efficient architects and consultant who identify the project’s scope and purpose. There should be a project’s team leader who holds the overall responsibility and identifying the right person/s in their fields. 2. Clear Communication – As again stated before, the design part involves a team. The communication should be always available for any enquiry of the different involves, especially for the owner or their representative/s. The Project Architect coordinates regular meetings to design staff, specialists and the Owner’s representative. 3. Budget and Cost Control - Cost control is critical to the success of any project. This is true...

...1 Challenges We Face in FM by John Vinken, IFMA Toronto President Vinken’s Views - President’s Message Spring has sprung in Southern Ontario and my mind races onward with ideas that I want to implement both at work and home. And what a better way to explore these ideas and develop some structure around them, than by hiring a person that is motivated, energetic, and able to acquire current knowledge easily. Yeah I know you are asking “Where do I get in line for someone like that?” Well what I have just described is a co-op student. I have my usual 2 co-op students already reserved and they will be starting in 3 weeks time. And let me tell you my whiteboard is filling with initiatives and ideas for these two to deal with. And with two facility management related college programs in the area (at Humber College and at Conestoga Collage) there are co-op students looking for jobs in the facility management field. If you want the contact information use the membership CD just sent to you and on the opening page are the hyperlinks for both of these institutions. This is the third year that IFMA Toronto has produced the membership CD rather than published a membership roster. There are, of course, issues with this year’s CD as there have been with every membership roster created in history I believe. Some of the problems are related to getting updated information about member. As an example when people renew their membership and if it is tardy the membership listing we acquire...

They have been a staple in Portuguese culture for the last five centuries and the tradition of their production and use is highly prevalent in Portuguese colonies the world over. Trade History Between Ban vs Pak

...The bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh are influenced by the fact that Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan from 1947 to 1971, when it achieved independence after the Bangladesh Liberation War and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. As part of historical Shimla Agreement, India sought to make sure that Pakistan would take steps to recognize Bangladesh. Pakistan sought China's help in blocking Bangladesh's entry into United Nations until 1974. Behind the scene India rallied behind Bangladesh to help gain international recognition. By end of March 1973, approximately 99 countries had recognized Bangladesh.[1] Pakistan eventually recognised Bangladesh in 1974. History Liberation war and independence After the partition of British Indian Empire by the United Kingdom in 1947, Bangladesh was integrated in Pakistan which was known as East Bengal until 1955 and thereafter as East-Pakistan following the One Unit program. Bilateral relations between the two wings grew strained over the lack of official recognition for the Bengali language, democracy, regional autonomy, disparity between the two wings, ethnic discrimination, and the central government's weak and inefficient relief efforts after the 1970 Bhola cyclone, which had affected millions in East Pakistan. These grievances led to several political agitations in East Bengal and ultimately a fight for full independence. In March 1971, the Pakistan Armed Forces began...

Volkswagen in India

...For the exclusive use of L. Jobard, 2015. IMB 443 SEEMA GUPTA VOLKSWAGEN IN INDIA In just 4 years since Volkswagen (VW) set up its India operations, it had captured a 3.6% market share – something the Detroit giants had not been able to do after more than a decade in the country (Exhibit 1). VW was the flagship brand of the Volkswagen group, which also owned Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, and Skoda. In India, the group was present with Skoda, Audi, and VW. 1 Maik Stephan, Managing Director, Volkswagen Group Sales India said: While three brands give us the collective power, we have to be careful to market them uniquely so that we are not chasing the same customer. i In 2011, the group’s worldwide revenues and net profit were Euro 159 billion and 15.8 billion, respectively. Headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany, the group operated more than 60 plants around the world. It was the second largest automaker behind General Motors. It had a market share of 12.3% in 2011. Its core markets were Germany and China. It was the market leader in Europe with a 20% market share. It aimed to become the world’s largest automaker by 2018. With a growth of 30% in the Indian automobile industry, India was to play an important role in realizing the group’s global ambitions. ii VW targeted to increase the market share of its flagship brand in India from 3.6% to 5% by 2015. Gayathri Submitted By: Group 12 Aditi Singh – 10004 Krishna Chandra – 10020 Rajiv N. – 10032 Srikiran C. Rai – 10048 1. INTRODUCTION BRIEF HISTORY OF THE INDIAN TWO-WHEELER INDUSTRY: In the 50s the two wheeler segment was largely dominated by Automobile Products of India (API) and Enfield. Later on towards the end of the 50s Bajaj Autos began importing Vespa scooters from the Italian company Piaggio. In the following decades, the automobile industry in India was mainly dominated by scooters with API and later Bajaj dominating the market. There were very few products and choices available as far as motorcycle is concerned and Enfield bullet and Rajdoot dominated the market. The 80s saw the entry of Japanese companies in the Indian market with the opening up of the market to foreign companies. Hero Honda and TVS Suzuki are companies formed in this era of market reform. The market was still predominantly scooter dominated and Bajaj and LML were the leading brands producing two-wheelers at that time. Scooter was viewed as a more family and utility friendly vehicle than motorcycle and hence was preferred. The Japanese companies not only collaborated with Indian companies to produce the already existing products but also brought in new technology as a result of which the ever conquering 100cc...
