That firm then offered him a position as an insurance underwriter however; not to long after, a Caribbean-wide company called Guardian Life subsequently bought out Nemwil. After serving a few years as the managing director of Guardian Life, Gerrard was promoted to President of Guardian General Limited, an arm of the Guardian Life conglomerate.
