From the beginning the Ministry is taken over by the death eaters and Voldemort’s Army. Hermione, being the knowledgable witch she is, knew she had to be prepared for this type of takeover. As predicted, the takeover happens and Hermione saves Ron and Harry and leads them to the middle of London to conceive a plan. While in a small coffee shop, Hermione realizes there are two death eaters inside waiting to kill them. Without hesitating, Hermione disarms one and hurts the other. While this isn’t her first instance of fighting a death eater, Hermione’s keen sense allows her to defeat them and essentially decolonize the power structure. In the movie, we see her do it, then watch her leave her home and walk bravely away to join Harry and Ron on their dangerous mission. With this small addition, and the image of Hermione walking alone down a deserted suburban street, the audience is reminded that Hermione isn’t just clever-she’s courageous,too. Women play a significant role in the climactic final battle.As for Mrs. Weasley, Ron and Ginny’s kindly housewife mother who reveals herself to be a fierce fighter.In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Molly Weasley solo duels Bellatrix Lestrange and defeats her. Rowling stated in an interview that she "wanted Molly to have her moment and to show that because a woman had dedicated herself to her family does not mean that she doesn’t have a lot of other talents." Also during this final battle, Professor McGonagall plays an important role in defending the legendary school, Hogwarts. She plays a huge leadership role in the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, by leading the rebellion against the Dark World and the dark wizard Voldemort. The final battle scene is one of equality as neither male nor female roles are favored, but all are used to prepare Harry for his duel. McGonagall, the reserved leader, always comes through for Harry in his time of need. She plays the motherly figure but when at school, the disciplinarian, and the professor. McGonagall is a feminist because her every actions and every decision she makes don’t depend on a man in her life. Also, the other thing that contributes her attributes to feminism is the fact that all of the fighting that she does in her life is to protect the students and Hogwarts, instead of fighting to defend or shield a man she is in love with. This fact that a woman is not blinded by love, and can fight and make her own decisions in life, makes her a feminist because, just like Storey’s definition, she is a woman who has her own power, and does not need a man in her life to tell her what to do, or to fight for, or to do anything for at all.Professor McGonagall always sticks up for Harry, no matter what the circumstances are and how much trouble she could get in for doing so, she still does it, and that demonstrates such strength in a person, and shows that McGonagall is a true leader.
