As shown in Fred Korematsu’s case, many argue that internment was justified by the safety it provided for non-Japanese American citizens, but the racial inequities are apparent from the treatment of German Americans and Italian Americans. According to Frank Wu, Author of Yellow: Race in America, the German American Bund and the Italian American Fascists were active organizations, holding rallies that attracted thousands and urged the U.S. to support Axis powers.
