Jack Nicklaus Golf Club in Incheon, South Korea was the site of perhaps the most exciting

President’s Cup to date. With a playbill lacking many of the big names golf fans have grown accustomed

to in years past, this tournament showed the world that this new generation golfers can provide the

same thrills as the aging veterans. With Phil Mickelson and Jordan Spieth headlining one of the strongest

American teams in years it seemed that the International team led by Jason Day did not have much of a

chance. However it was the seemingly weak International team that matched the American squad

match for match throughout the course of the tournament.

Sunday’s singles matches all remained interesting as each point was crucial with

the lead swinging back and forth between teams. Coming down to the last match it was Bill Haas who

won his match on the 18th to secure another President’s Cup for the US.

The player of the tournament was Branden Grace beyond all doubt. Many doubted him coming

in as his last appearance in the tournament did not go well as he lost every match he played in. That

could not have been further from the truth this time around as he went 5-0 and did everything in his

power to keep his team in the competition. His pairing with Oosthuizen proved to be one of the best in

team-play history and no US pairing could match them. One of Grace’s shining moments came on the

only match of his to go to the 18th hole. With his partner in the water and a point up for grabs, Grace

striped a 3 Wood into the wind and on the green to secure the match. Consistency has been Grace’s
