War, the bloodshed re-encountered throughout all of history. America's solution to keeping the Union from falling apart was to engage in combat with their brothers. The gruesome quarrel between the north and south lasted from 1861 to 1864. The Union, all for unity and oneness, against the rebellious Confederates, fighting for their freedom. A tragic battle in the war included Gettysburg, where the triumphant Confederate general J.E.B. Stuart fell from all his glory. On July 1, 1863, J.E.B. abandoned the confederacy in battle to gain honor for himself, leaving Lee’s army unaware of the enemy’s forces at Pennsylvania. Instead, the battle was an embarrassment to the confederacy, blaming Stuart’s late arrival for the loss of the war.

He died heroically in battle, as any warrior should. The confederate cavalry was severely weakened by the spring of 1864. On May 9, Sheridan and 12,000 sabres headed towards Richmond. Stuart mustered approximately 4,500 men together and intercepted Sheridan at Yellow Tavern. In the cruel clash, the immortal Stuart was dangerously wounded by a dismounted Federal cavalryman. The cause of death was mortification of the stomach. He spent his last hours at Dr. Brewer's residence in Richmond. The president of the Confederate States of America Jefferson Davis came to visit Stuart, his favorite chieftain. Before he had left the earth, he left remembrances to his loved ones. For Robert E. Lee, Stuart gave him golden spurs. His staff officers were given his horses. And to his son, he bestowed upon him his sword. General Stuart passed away on May 12, 1864 at the age of 35 (The Late Gen.
