When I went to Petsmart for the first time, I loved the service there and everything about it, I saw cats, ferrets, turtles, hamsters, etc. Everything was colorful then I decided to write a letter, about job shadowing. I would love to help take care of animals and train them, and just seeing them happy and healthy. I may have forgotten to introduce myself, hi I’m Avaya Darden a student at Silver Hills Middle School.

Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved taking care of animals it has always been my passion, and seeing animals makes me happy. I am very experienced with animals because I helped take care of my dog, cats, my brother’s turtle and everything else. If you think about it it’s a wonderful idea to have me there to job shadow,

Essay On Career Shadowing

...Before reading the books, The Recruiting Snitch, Career Mapping, and specific chapters in This is Who We Hire, I never contemplated finding job employment in such detailed steps. These books aided me in learning techniques to help in informational interviews, shadowing, networking, and resume writing. They will further help me during the interview process for internships and future employment. As a part time student at UCF, my plan is to complete the pre-requisite courses and the Primary Business classes needed in order to be admitted into a specific business major in the College of Business. I plan to continue informational interviews, shadowing, and expanding network contacts through social media and direct outreach. I will develop a preliminary draft of my resume and have it reviewed by various sources. I will contact, meet personally, and send out resumes to companies of interest to secure an internship. I will continue reviewing companies of interest, so that at the appropriate time, I can send a personal letter, email and/or call until securing employment. I have two pre-requisites and five Primary Business Core classes remaining before requesting admissions to a specific business major. I plan on taking one class this summer and two or...

Faith Ringbar Analysis

...Painting #1 Faith Ringgold painting of the American flag Faith Ringgold is a very famous painter from the Harlem Renaissance. This is a painting of an American flag. The stripes are written as letters they say “NIGGER” Over the stars in black letters is the word “DIE” Depending on how you read it, it may say “DIE NIGGER” or “NIGGER DIE.” Both having the same meaning, but I would say “DIE NIGGER” sounds more aggressive. To me, I feel like the author is saying that black people are ingrained into America(if that makes sense). She used the color gray to right the word “NIGGER.” Gray is usually associated with negative things, like being dirty, poor, worthless and many other things like that. Maybe this is her way of representing the stereotypes that blacks have been given since their arrival and that we have worked hard to play a fair role in society but yet we are still treated like were “gray.” I don't know how to explain my thought process it may confuse you. Painting #2 Faith Ringgold Statue of Liberty and black people in the ocean...

Personal Narrative: My Experience At The Muncie Police Victim Advocate Office

...So far at my time at the Muncie Police Victim Advocate office, I have developed a better understanding for what they do. In the beginning I was not exactly sure what they did and what the job was. I expected them to be more like a therapist but as I have worked alongside with them I have learned they are more like a high school guidance consoler. They help people in the best way that the possibly can by giving them references and helping people with paperwork and even going with them to the prosecutor’s officer. At the Muncie Police Victim Advocate officer, I have been involved in a few different officer operations. One of the things that I have done is print, collect, and data entered police reports. This is a part of the Police Outreach Program that the victim advocate officer has. After in putting the data the office sends out letter to the victim/complainant of the police report offering their services. This past Monday, I made a what the officer calls Stalking packets. These packets are something that they pass out to victims of stalking. These packets include a lot of valuable information that the victim may need. Such as the victim bill of rights, references to different offices that may be of service, incident report logs, and more....

Ethical Issues In Social Work

...After Nicole was finished explaining Silvia to me (whom I never met) we sat in the dining hall to discuss the responsibilities of a social worker. I learned that the power of attorney is a high legal position in which a family member or requested person must call the shots when the patient can no longer do so. I went on to learn that social workers go through the bereavement process for those whom passed (giving letters, condolences, support, and next steps). We then discussed the situation involved with weaning an individual off of life support and all of the paperwork involved. We talked about living situations with patients as well (personal living, spouse living, home living, assisted living, and 24 hour assisted living). From all this...

...rebirth. It is a period during the 14th through the 17th century in which the arts were revived. The reason for this revival was because The Middle Ages were over. During that period, territorial struggles throughout Europe had made people more concerned with staying in good graces with whoever was ruling them at that particular time. The rulers, themselves, were more concerned with preoccupying and expanding their control. And with the Roman Catholic Church having its strong foothold in society during this era, no one really had time left over to even think about art. The characteristics of Renaissance art include realism, expression, perspective, classicism, an emphasis on individuality, the geometrical arrangement of figures, lights and shadowing, and using artists as personalities or celebrities. Evaluating a Potential Employer
