Twisted, wretched thoughts flood the minds of these adrenaline seeking beings. Alike how some might be overcome with an adrenaline rush during a roller coaster or a haunted house, these people seek the same rush. Although they feel there is only one way to achieve it, and that way is to kill. Kill with no mercy and in large quantities with nothing but a selfish motive. Perhaps two of today’s best known serial killers are H.H. Holmes and John Wayne Gacy. Though they both possess similarities, such as their love for torture and their gender, they had different ways of going about their planned murders. Holmes held his victims in building that was used still being used for public use. On the other hand, Gacy tortured his victims in the privacy …show more content…
H. Holmes is commonly known as “America’s First Serial Killer”. He was born in 1861 and hung for his crimes in 1896. In contrast, John Wayne Gacy, “The Clown Killer”, was born almost eight centuries later in May 1942. He was killed for his crimes by a lethal injection in May 1994. Like previously stated, both figures enjoyed torturing their victims. Although, they had different means of going about this. H.H. Holmes had a twisted way of murdering his victims. He was known to dissect and use parts of his victims in experiments. Holmes gruesomely killed many of his victims by dropping their bodies in acid or stretching their bodies to the limits on a stretching table. Meanwhile, John Wayne Gacy raped and then strangled his victims to death. He rid of his victims by burying them under his house. Over his lifetime Gacy murdered 33 young boys, 26 of which were found beneath his home. Holmes is responsible for up to 200 murders over his lifetime, most of which were young women. Before Holmes was executed, he claimed to feel no remorse for his victims. Many reports claim that, although Holmes was able to lure in so many women, he was a very awkward and unsocial man. John Wayne Gacy on the other hand came off as a very kind man. He was extremely social and even dressed as clown for local children’s parties. Although, he had no mercy either. Gacy did not feel that he should punished by death from his murders. John Wayne Gacy and H.H. Holmes are two of today’s most famous serial killers. Although they both seem so similar in their chosen lifestyle, these men are also very different in their ways of going about their business. Yet, no matter how they killed their victims they both still basked in the adrenaline of the kill. Both men will be remembered as some of America’s worst villains. So if a stranger ever offers you a job, it would not hurt to think twice before following them
