“He moved forward delicately, his right hand outstretched. The crucible began to settle— collapse, the silver was running over the top of the furnace like spilled milk. Johnny jumped toward it, his right hand outstretched. Something happened, he never knew exactly what. His feet wet out from under him. His hand came down on top of the furnace” (Johnny Tremain pg. 38)

This moment was a plot-turning part in the book Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. I loved this moment because, it was full of intensity and action. This scene had changed the view that I had on Johnny but,this moment had resulted in Johnny becoming a hero in the book. If Johnny had not burnt his hand, then he would have still been arrogant and felt as if he was the boss. In the book, when a fellow tribute named Rue who she befriends, is killed in the games. This causes Katniss to feel guilty that she had not been able to save Rue. When she goes to tours to express her loyalty to the capitol, but when she goes to Rue’s district, she starts to have less grief for the district.

The main conflict in All Quiet on the Western Front is internal conflict vs man. Internal conflict vs man Paul is battling against himself in surviving in the army. He needed to think about staying in this army or leaving by seeing all of the deaths occurring. This conflict is resolved by Paul fighting through the war and surviving the war.
