Period 2 A boy the age of eight or nine is riding their bike on a train track. Suddenly there is a train coming after him seconds away from running him over. His bike is caught in-between the rail tracks. Anyone else would have ran away to keep their life. Not this kid, he wanted to save his bike. The boy tries and tries and is still unable to get his bike out of the track. In the nick of time this boy is pushed out of the way by the friend of his older brother. When I heard this story I couldn’t help but wonder what made this little boy so determined to save his bike? So I found an opportunity to speak with the now and changed Josh Brustman. I didn’t know anything about him other than his near death experience so I decided to interview Josh in class. So today I will tell you about Josh’s background, educational and career goals and a few of his hobbies. Besides almost getting hit by a train Josh’s background goes deeper than that. He was born June 1994 in California, when he was one or two. Now most kids who would have to sit in a car and drive for hours across the country would cry or complain but Josh didn’t say a word. So when he first moved to Ohio he lived in Springfield. Then Josh finally moved to Cuyahoga Falls where he goes to school. Some of the things that Josh likes to do in Falls hang out with his friends. He also plays sports, like soccer and baseball, with his old coaches. Josh doesn’t play sports for the school because he doesn’t really like organized teams; he likes to play for fun. Josh doesn’t really like to work that much so he doesn’t have a job. Josh Brustman doesn’t really have a set plan for what he wants to do for his career or education, but he does have a plan. When I asked him about his future with college he thought about it for a while. He told me that he does want to go to college, and he is looking into some colleges although he is not set that perfect one. He also knew that he for sure wanted to go to the military before college so that they pay for his education. I thought that was very smart that he thought about that because college is expensive to pay for. When I asked about what he wanted a career in he wasn’t sure of that either he did say that he would like hands on job like a carpenter. Josh tries to enjoy life with each chance that he gets. This I where I saw the difference between Josh and myself. I noticed that I was more of a person who likes to shop and go to the movies with friends. Josh would rather spend his time outdoors with friends. Josh likes hands on activities he is always out and about doing some with his friends or like I said earlier playing sports. That time when Josh had his near death experience because of his determination for getting his bike back; he didn’t know what future lied ahead of him. People never really know what will happen to them in the future. Brustman didn’t know that he was going to be determined to go to the military just like he was determined to get his bike back. I think Josh is a very interesting person and his determined to get what he wants.

In 2000, Klinghoffer and The Bicycle Thief were one of the opening acts on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' support tour for Californication. Music Genealogy

...Nicole Modak Music 100 September 11, 2012 Music Genealogy As a child I remember listening to the typical children’s music. Barney was my favorite television show, so I can still remember the songs that Barney used to sing such as The Clean Up Song. My parents also exposed me to the types of music they enjoyed listening to. My mother loves artists such as Babyface and Toni Braxton. It was our tradition to clean the house while playing music. We would sing and dance to my mom’s favorite songs for hours. My mother also loves music by Josh Groban. She always played his music in the car, which instantly made me sleepy. My father’s favorite artist is Bruce Springsteen and because my father exposed me to his music at such a young age I grew to love the music as well. My dad also introduced me to classic hits by the Jackson 5. As a child I took chorus in elementary school where we sang and learned about music. I played the flute during the fourth and fifth grades. I loved the music in the Broadway musicals I have attended with my family. I have seen The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. The music in both plays was fantastic. My classmates influenced my musical taste because during free time in class teachers would play music. My peers and I would all decide which songs the teacher would play. This encouraged me to listen to the types of music that my classmates listened to even if it was different then the songs I typically liked. I grew up living 30 minutes from New York City...

Refers to the man as a “strong and caring leader that is down to earth, and confident in the challenge this moment demands.” Romney reminds the audience that freedom is what first made America special. He makes an attempt to win hearts and minds by referencing small businesses and graduating students. He implies that Obama made promises of hope and change but did not follow through with them. “This was when we were supposed to start paying down the national debt and rolling back those massive deficits. This is the hope and change America voted for. It’s not just what we wanted. It’s not just what we expected. It’s what Americans deserved!” Romney exclaims. Just then the crowd begins to chant U.S.A. Romney talks of his childhood, and how he was a “baby boomer” in the middle of the country, reminds the crowd of Neil Armstrong’s walk on the moon, Talks of his mother giving up giving up her acting career to marry his father. He tells us he grew up in a Morman family in Michigan. “My mom and dad were married for 64 years, and if you wondered what their secret was you could have asked the local florist, because every day Dad gave Mom a rose which he put on her bedside table. That’s how she found out what happened on the day my father died. She went looking for him because that morning there was no rose. My mom and dad were true partners,” Romney says. The camera then cuts to a couple older women holding back...
