In addition, at least 2 theories, concepts and/or discussion points from the chapter must be briefly discussed in an effort to connect concepts from the ISO chapter to the student reflections
Exercise 1-H (Reflection/Action Plan)
This chapter focused on self-awareness – what it is, why it’s important, and how to acquire and increase the degree to which you possess it. Other elements that comprise the self, including personality, attitude, and emotional intelligence, were also discussed. Complete the following worksheet upon completing all reading and experiential activities for this chapter. 1. The one or two areas in which I am most strong are:
Self-awareness is one of the key concept to boost self confidence in ourselves and also to encourage ourselves to face the outer world, person, situation and other things. The areas which I’m strong on when it comes to self-awareness would be attitudes and also personality. Attitude which I possess in my personal life and in professional life differs according to the surroundings. In my personal opinion attitude is an easiest way to judge a person. The way we perceive things and reflect towards certain issues, person, situation matters the most. Taking care of our attitude helps ourselves to improve the relationship built with others such as family, friends, colleagues, manager and so on.
Personality is another area which I hold strong to. Personality also plays important role in our daily life, it determines how we interrelate and respond to different people and circumstances. 2. The one or more areas in which I need more improvement are:
I need to improve my self-monitoring area as well as perception corner. 3. If I did only one thing to improve in this area, it would be:
Self –analysis time to time to improve the area mentioned earlier. 4. Making this change would probably result in:
If I able to change this area then I can able to regulate my reactions towards certain issue and also would have more clarity on the things which I do. I will also have the time needed to take a decision and allow myself to interpret the decisions before jumping into conclusion. 5. If I did change or improve in this area, it would probably affect my personal and professional life the following ways:
Improving this area will definitely increases my confidence level on the things which I encounter personally and also in professional life. It would help to build stronger relationship with others and it will be accommodating in my future self-developments areas.

Other theories related to self-awareness
Apart from the areas which have been mentioned, attribution theory playing important role in increasing self-awareness in a person. Behavior and perception has large influence on attributions. Self-serving bas causes us to overestimate internal factors for success and blame external factors for failures. Another example which can closely relate to this self-serving bias would be passing an exam. If we ace in exam, we will give credit to ourselves that all the hard work paid off, but lets it we have not done it properly and the results are not favoring we tend to blame the outer factors, such as teachers contribution was not good, tuition was not good enough, friends and so on. It’s always better to convince our attribution theory in a better manner, where it will help us to improve our actions in future based on experience gained rather than finding reasons to neglect it.

In addition, self-disclosure also helps in improving self-awareness. Conversing out our thoughts is always good, because it helps in getting a revised solution than what we have in our in mind. Taking the exam example again, if the student discuss on the low grades to other students or the teacher itself, it will help the student to do better on the next term and to figure out on the weak areas. This will also provide him/her a clear explanation for the failure on the first time and help us to make enriched perspective next time.

Exercise 2-J (Reflection/Action Plan)
This chapter focused on self-disclosure and trust- what they are, why they are important, and how to increase your comfort and skill using them, complete the following worksheet upon reading and finishing the experiential activities from this chapter. 1. When do you think it is appropriate to receive feedback from and self-disclose to others? To trust other?
In my opinion to receive feedback from others on certain issues related to any matters depends on the importance of it. For example to receive feedback from friends on hair color is less important than receiving feedback on a project proposal which is needed to be presented to a higher managerial people in an organization. It really depends on the importance of a matter and also how the feedback is going to help improve or divert up the matter. Self-disclosure is another important element where other than opinions, feedback, discussion even personal matters comes in. this is where an individual choose to open up their thoughts to another person in order to gain some fruitful opinion. It is appropriate to self-disclose ourselves when we need self-evaluation, because different individuals might have different perception on us than what we have in our mind on ourselves. Trust is another important element in self-disclosure, because confidentiality when having a self-disclosure is taken into consideration. We trust others when we want to feel comfortable of sharing certain thoughts and thinking with another individual. When we have trust, we will be confident enough to open up to people and it will be an ease to share and gain opinions on certain things. 2. How comfortable are you with self-disclosure? With trusting others? What aspects are most difficult for you?
On my opinion, comfort zone with self-disclosure is quite high, it is very easy for me to evaluate myself on others perspective. Trusting others with my self-disclosure is quite a challenging, but I will take into consideration of zone of self-disclosure before trusting another individuals. It is agreeable that self-disclosure plus trust will be giving out stronger relationship according to ISO text (37) but it depends on the individual we share with. The difficult aspect for me individual level, because at times we tend to share everything thinking they are the right person, but trust will be broken on certain issues.

3. How does self-disclosure or trust affect your receptivity to feedback and willingness to give feedback?
Both the aspects mentioned play an important role because when an individual share their matters with us and expecting a feedback, full confidentially are given away. Thus, keeping up their trust on us is more than enough to give a feedback with full of respect.
I always bear in mind that if we want to be treated in right way then others deserve the same level. If we follow this simple rule right, then both parties receiving and giving feedback will be easier. The willingness will be spontaneously triggered to give feedback because it is also another way to say certain things which you feel want to share but unable to do such and this feedback session will a clear route to do such.

4. In what ways is your current use of trust and self-disclosure effective in your relationship with friends and loved ones?
As time goes and based on experiences went through, I have learned what trust is. By knowing the deep meaning of it and also the consequences if its broken, I have figured out whom to self-disclose and to whom not to. Being aware of this gave the me strength to trust other and believe that my secrets are saved with my beloved ones, family and also friends. I won’t be sharing all my personal things to others because we might not know how it’s going to effects other, thus certain sensitive issues are meant to be kept to ourselves. 5. What specific changes about your self-disclosure and trusting behaviors would you make that would enhance relationships with your friends?
As far I concerned on my friends they are reliable ones, which means I can easily trust them with most of things. What that phrase meant to be was I figure out which friends of mine would always accept me under all circumstances. This comfort zone has made me feel safe knowing my shared details with them are also kept reserved. Nothing can come between these friendships because no matter what my friends are always being loved by me, thus they value the importance of it and treat me the same way as they want to be treated. Having this bunch of people around has been always convenient because it is easy to share up our thoughts and get feedback easily rather than having our family or loved ones only as our spilling points.

6. If you made the changes listed above, what impact would this have on your relations? Explain.
Well, I think if I made changes to the list above mentioned, I realize it can make our relations bond get stronger. Exposing myself more to another person, friends or any other relations might affect the extent of trust having on a person. Once heart to heart conversation was help with another person then I will always set expectation that I should be treated with loyalty and respect, because once self-disclose is done then there is no going back. All this aspects determine how strong the relationships with another person we disclose with will affect us.

Exercise 3-L (Reflection/Action Plan)
This chapter focused on goal setting- what it is, why it’s important, and how to acquire and increase the degree to which you possess it. We also discussed the role of values and ethics in setting goals that are aligned with your key priorities. Complete the following worksheet upon reading and finishing the experiential activities for this chapter. 1. The one or two areas in which I am strong are:
Goal setting have been a very important key element in my life. This has helped in many ways, especially academic wise. Being able to set goal, and achieve the goal with specific time is another way to self-evaluate our success on short run basis or long run basis. This goal setting has been very motivating aspect and also productivity driven. Goals are always a boost for performance, because it provides balance and perspective to decision as stated in ISO text (pg56) 2. The one or two areas in which I need more improvement are:
The one thing which I need to improve when it comes to goal setting is being positive and having an optimistic mind set. I have to learn to let go of what others have to say on my life goal and start being deterministic. When a challenge or obstacle placed while overcoming this goal, it should be tacked in a positive manner rather than thinking it’s the end of the world and start to give up. 3. If I did only one thing to improve in this area, it would be to:
I always have to change my perspectives on failures by thinking it’s a stepping stone to success. Based on the past experiences I should start building up a new characteristic where it will help to build a new phase on how to sort out new decisions. Keep on trying and go through struggles will be helpful to determine what we are in future. 4. Making this change would probably result in:
These changes will boost up my confidence level to perform well and achieve my target at predefined time. Example of this changes have helped me in academic wise, thus if it has been possible then it can be achieved no matter what for other future plans as well.
Apart from achieving my goal, this will help me being realistic on the decisions which I’m going to make in future. 5. If I did not change or improve in this area, it would probably affect my personal and professional life in the following ways:
If these changes are not being implemented or effective from the time I realized, it will definitely turn my success growth down. There will be positive mind set, where my personal life will be dull without any goal set. While professional life will not even happen because personal life is not adjusted earlier. This is where our personal ethics will be challenged, where no life principles will be developed.

Exercise 4-H (Reflection/Action Plan)
This chapter focused on emotional intelligence, time management, and stress management- what they are, what they’re important, and how to acquire and increase the degree to which you possess them. Complete the following worksheet to reflect on what you have learned on these topics and to develop plans for incorporating that learning into your work and life. 1. The one or two areas in which I am strong are:
I guess I’m doing well when it comes to the area of managing my time. I always have a to do list concerning my weekly responsibility, sticky notes on laptops which reminds me of my assignments and schools works and also reminders set on phone one week earlier on events and so on, this will help me to keep on track on things should be finished and also it will be mark as completed as well. Apart from this things to keep my time management easy, I also plan ahead when certain things have to be done, and m order things accordingly the due dates or importance wise. I noticed, this practice constantly benefits me in getting my things done on time and its being a stress free life rather than jumping on the last day and end up not doing anything. 2. The one or two areas in which I need more improvement are:
There are certain things that I realized I could alter a bit after reading self-management chapter procrastinations part of myself on things such as assignments especially should be enhanced. I go to school full time and work for 12 hours per week but still have free times to finish up things according to the plans, but when it comes to homework, I often put it off for a bit because I am lazy and not motivated. Another area which need improvement is my eating habit and also time off for a healthy lifestyle, exercise of course. I sue to be in a good shape and were able to do things easily such as, climbing stairs, walking for some distance, but since the procrastination have developed in me, healthy lifestyle started being invisible in my schedule. 3. If I did only one thing to improve in this area, it would be to:
Procrastination is the major area which I should start to improve in order to get my things done on time and also to get back on track for the healthy living. To avoid doing my assignments late is to stick to planned schedule and finishing it on time, and definitely I need self-determination for sure. If this been successfully implemented then I surely can slot in time for my exercise and healthy diet for sure.

4. Making this change would probably result in:
By implementing changes areas mentioned earlier, I find that I may be a well-organized and healthier person not only physically well mentally as well. This is extremely important in my life, because submitting assignments late past due dates will affects my final grades which will not a be good standing as an graduate assistantship position. This will affects not only academic wise but also status wise, if a good performance is not shown there might be chances of me losing assistantship where it will be disaster where I cannot support my living. To make sure all things from not occurring, I should keep myself organized and free from stress. 5. If I did not change or improve in this area, it would probably affect my personal and professional life in the following ways:
It will affect my final grades which will not a be good standing as an graduate assistantship position. This will affects not only academic wise but also status wise, if a good performance is not shown there might be chances of me losing assistantship where it will be disaster where I cannot support my living.

...Brittany Thomas Principles of Management Dr. Garrison 14 February 2016 Journal Article One In this article, the author talks about accounting firms going green. Some firms are doing this by going paperless. On the other hand, some firms are reluctant to go green. The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of becoming a paperless office. The author is doing this discussion because he wants to help his readers have a better understanding of how and why more and more accounting firms are deciding to go green. Going green was first seen as a way of reducing negative effects on the environment. During a recession, it is viewed as a way to stay competitive. Some examples of going green are: going paperless, using reusable water bottles, carpooling, and/or “rewarding employees for participating in green activities”. There are many advantages to going green. By doing this, the company will have better efficiency and productivity, which they can benefit from with the cost savings. The savings will favor both the employee and the firm. It will make them more competitive and profitable. Another advantage is that the quality of service will be better because of the use of technology. Customers like for their visits to be quick and easy. ...Course Code: BIRMI 1A15 Unit 1 – Basic Hypnotherapy Techniques (Ofqual Ref. M/505/8186) Homework Assignment – Journal Entry Module 1 (1 – 1.1) Explain the state of hypnosis. Looking back, it is clear now that hypnosis has been around for many centuries and the use of hypnotic states can be traced back to Shamans or Witch Doctors. In the 1700’s Franz Anton Mesmer produced his theory of “animal magnetism” in which he believed healing forces could be transferred through “cosmic fluid” there is no evidence to support the transfer of the healing energies devised by Mesmer but his success rate was high which lead to his patients being described as “mesmerized” and mesmerism is an early forerunner for modern day hypnosis. Many theories utilising a hypnotic state then followed but it was not until an English physician called James Braid (1795-1860) giving mesmerism a scientific explanation of a “nervous sleep” introducing the word hypnosis derived from the Greek word for sleep Hypnos. Many theories evolved from this view and hypnosis eventually gained acceptance as a naturally occurring phenomenon. In the 1950’s hypnosis began a renaissance as it became recognized for the therapeutic potential in the fields of behavior modification and healing. Hypnosis can be categorised as a trance state or altered level of consciousness. Our minds are split between our conscious and subconscious states and we are able to switch between the two often unaided and without realising. A good...

...produces recorded data. I can quickly grade multiple choice questions and record the students’ grade. Being able to record this grade will allow me to present scores to the parents when I am asked for a student’s progress. Another advantage to a quiz is the ability to assess both the entire class and each individual’s understanding on a topic. I will be able to look at the overall measurement and decide whether there is a need to review the topic or lesson, or if the class is ready to advance in the given studies. Also, by presenting multiple quizzes through the term the students and I can create a set format, which can help ease classroom anxiety. Another form of monitoring students’ progression through a lesson is homework. Homework can be one of the most effective methods for tracking mathematical progress. Assigning, collecting and grading homework can be a very timely way to gather information on how each student is progressing through the lesson, but homework provides a way for students to effectively review knowledge that had been taught that day in class. Through the grading process data will be created making it easy for me to track the progression of each individual student, and inform me when an individual or the whole class may need a review or even entire representation of the material covered in class. Difference Between Journals and Diaries: -

...Difference between journals and diaries:- The difference between a diary and a journal is that a diary is where you can write down what happened during the day and keep a record of stuff. A journal is to write your own personal feelings in, and things that happened, and how they happened. A diary is a report of what happened during the day—where you ate, who you met, the details that what was happened in the office, and who took whose side. It is a like a newspaper about you. A journal is completely different. A journal is about examining your life. It’s a GPS system for your spirit. Journals lead to insight, growth, and sometimes, achieving a goal. You can keep a journal in anything that feels comfortable and that’s portable–a spiral notebook, a bind book you have put together with lokta paper, index cards held together with a rubber band. You can use a computer; keep a blog, although that doesn’t work as well for me. But things on the internet are simply not private, password protected or not. To keep a journal on paper, pick a time of day to write. Keep it regularly. It makes it easier. Try that you didn’t stuck to an exercise program because then it can nailed it into schedule at a certain time. Writing works the same way. First thing in the morning, last thing at night, while eating lunch at your desk. Write with a good pen that feels good and whose color you like. In the beginning, you may have to set a time limit. Three minutes is good. Just write whatever comes...

...office in Arkansas or how it's illegal to carry a bible in Singapore, he'd say, "Write it down. Let it out." I've filled four journals. On an idle Thursday, when my mind was free of frustration, I read the crumpled, yellowed pages of my black leather journal and saw a natural progression from black to color. I had precisely captured all my experiences, but in an entirely aesthetic way. From then on, every time I opened my journal, I found myself in an unfamiliar environment writing to capture a mood or scene with creative language. It was my therapeutic getaway from reality. In the summertime, every Sunday, after taking a rattling cold bus, two smoky, humid subway trains, and picking up the best peanuts on 114th street, I would arrive at Riverside Park, New York. I wrote at least one piece every time I was there and shared my work with the same old man who perused the New York Times and the same skinny college student who sunbathed in her bikini. After noting any criticism they gave, I would return home, edit and embellish each piece. This is what I enjoyed most. This is what I wanted to do. But this is not what a first generation American son of strict Indian Muslim parents pursues. He is to become a doctor, lawyer, or businessperson—not a writer. My parents told me that I would either make it big or not make it at all, and no one knew for sure what was destined to happen to me if I were to choose the writing path. My...

Success is typically not a smooth nor an easy road. There are many ups, downs and bumps along the way to achieving success. Making a difference is what sets one apart as a leader. One must have courage and confidence in what they believe makes them a strong leader. Even if a leader has the above characteristics they can still be unsuccessful if they are not able to build trust and confidence among their team. One can be a great leader, but without credibility among those whom follow, leadership will not exists. Guarding and protecting ones credibility is essential in leadership. (DePree, M 1997) Inspiration is important as well and will assist in overcoming setbacks as well as solving problems. When a leader inspires people they assist them to see a better future. Business Research Methods Res/351

...Medical Journals and the Failure of Trust” the issue of pharmaceutical businesses and their research, and how it is presented is outlined. The article covers one of the largest controversies with business research conducted by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and how the results were skewed and then reported by many medical journals as fact, even though the research did not support what was reported. The study was GSK 329, which showed a particular drug to be effective in adolescents with depression, even though the testing showed otherwise. (Jureidini & McHenry, 2011) The biggest unethical behavior that was demonstrated by GSK, and medical journals was the skewing of results of a study. Medical journals published articles that misrepresented the findings of GSK’s research. Internal reports by the company showed that their trials of the drug had failed to benefit adolescents with depression, and positively showed that there were negative results. (Jureidini & McHenry, 2011) The internal report states that “it would be commercially unacceptable to include a statement that efficacy had not been demonstrated, as this would undermine the profile of paroxetine,” and that “to effectively manage the dissemination of data in order to minimize any potential negative commercial impact.” (Jureidini &McHenry, 2011) This indicates that they skewed the results of the study so that only selective data would be published. The authors also place blame on the medical journals that published...
