The report shows the advantages and disadvantages of rural bank expanding in cities. The numerical facts they presented gave the credibility to their conclusions. They also offered great alternatives that the bank can use if ever they want to expand in cities. Each steps of doing each alternative is also presented in a logical manner. The report can be more useful if they included additional information about the cost that they could incurred in doing those alternatives. In their presentation, the group answered the question “what is the best expansion strategy that the Rural Bank of Suarez implement in the Capital City?” Their report discussed five different alternatives for a rural bank to implement in the capital city. Moreover, they used a decision criterion to determine which alternative is the most effective and efficient way to expand. Such result is significant since it provides an idea on how rural banks can enter the market with greater penetration and reduced costs. They also used facts and figures to support their analysis of the strengths, weakness, threats, and opportunities. Such analysis is significant because they point out the importance of having a structured planning method to evaluate the case. Furthermore, the SWOT analysis also indicated the distinction of the Rural Bank of Suarez against other rural banks. An example of which is that the rural bank is already well-founded in terms of popularity compared to other rural banks. Overall, the group has made great use of their knowledge on accounting and finance in discussing the case of the Rural Bank of Suarez. However, they could have included the cash flows for a more in depth discussion about the financial standing of the bank. Furthermore, a discussion regarding the barriers to entry of banks would also strengthen their claims.

...impractical to compare the Rural Bank of Galvez to other big banking businesses since their past due ratios tend to go up faster because their borrowers’ have difficulty in paying. Paul Bernardo Case Summary

...Throughout the whole duration of the case involving the Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka investigation, there were many significant challenges that were associated with the overall collection and the admissibility of the evidence. It all started off when Karla Homolka was interrogated for four days from the police she blamed her sister’s death all on Paul Bernardo and she immediately described how Bernardo had kidnapped her sister and the methods he used to kill her and mentioned that Bernardo had boasted to her of raping at least 30 women. She told officials that she was abused and the only reason she participated in the horrific rapes and murders was the cause of the terror and fear she had against him, she told police she would testify against...

Essay Analysis: Unfettered by Guilt, She’s Ready for Checkout

...Rosie DiManno is an expository essay following the trial and sentence of the formerly known as Karla Leanne Teale. It discusses Karla’s actions, the damage they cause and whether or not she is genuinely guilt-ridden for what she’s done. I feel DiManno writes a well-crafted essay that stimulates an intellectual and emotional response to Karla’s trials. It lets audiences uncover the truth behind Karla Teale and whether or not she is deserving of a new life in Montreal. The author’s purpose in writing the essay encourages intellectual thoughts in order to form a basic opinion of Karla. She then reinforces the opinion through the use of tone, allowing a new emotional perspective. The language the author uses brings together the essay’s objective in reaching a final conclusion of Karla, one that is not admirable. It is difficult to imagine, from my point of view, that someone would defend Karla for the crimes she is convicted of. However, these people do exist and Rosie DiManno makes it her objective in this essay to show Karla’s true colours. She explains Karla’s actions, interprets and then criticizes them to allow the audience to realize Ms. Teale’s underlying intentions. I feel Rosie makes this point clear through her use of rhetorical questions to mock, ridicule and demonstrate Karla’s lack of sentiment. An example of this literary device is seen through the quotation “It’s Karla Leanne Teale who petitioned the warden at the Joliette Institution for escorted day passes, ostensibly...

Homolka Should Be Kept In Prison

...Lastly we believe that Homolka should be kept in prison as psychoanalysis reveals that Homolka excuses are intended to cover up the law and use emotional or psychological appeal to affect her judgement . Based on a psychopathy checklist conducted by a psychiatrist; Bernado, Homolka's husband received a result of 35 out of 40 proving that he is a psychopathy whereas Homolka received a 5 out of 40 which means she is not qualified to be considered as psychopathy. This shows that Homolka is trying to turn the reasonable law into a lie with her fake and fraudulent emotional and psychological. Therefore Guilt, love, hate, desire and sickness to the extremes of Homolka's excuse are unreasonable and should not be considered an appropriate excuse. Allowing...

In-N-Out Burger

...In-N-Out Burger History and Overview. The history of In-N-Out Burger starts with the company’s founders, Harry and Esther Snyder. Harry was a WWII veteran who worked as a caterer of baked goods. Esther was a surgical nurse in the Navy, and later got a degree in Zoology. They met each other at the restaurant Esther was managing after she graduated from college. Neither had experience in the fast food industry, which was just starting at that time, but in 1948, the couple opened the first In-N-Out in the Los Angeles, California. Harry was the first to allow drivers to make orders over a two-way intercom system, creating the first Drive-thru experience. Snyder had a simple goal for his restaurant, to give the customers “the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy” while providing “friendly service in a sparkling clean environment”. Soon people started to become interested in this idea. Two years later the couple opened the Second In-N-Out Burger. The chain had huge potential to explode but the couple was very focused on quality control. This resulted in only 18 restaurants being opened over the next 28 years before Harry Synder passed away in 1976 from lung cancer. After Harry died his son who had worked in the restaurants all his live, took the role as company president being just 24 years old. While Rich controlled the company it experienced huge growth. In twenty years the company opened over ninety In-N-Out Burgers. Over this time only one new thing was added to the menu...

Expropriation Of La Opinión

...The founding of La Opinión took place in 1971, amidst an accelerating heavy government hand within the press as a result of increasing dissidence by groups across Argentine society. In the prior decades, rather than a strict focus upon dissidence, the relationship between media and politics was that of using the former to pursue the ends of the latter. In other words, Colonel Juan Perón, elected president in 1946, was the first of his kind to use the Argentine media in order to sway the public “through direct expropriation, selective advertising, propaganda, nationalization politics, censorship and at times, thuggish intimidation” (Samples, p. 6). Many of these approaches were used in Perón’s well-known expropriation of La Prensa, a newspaper backed by publishers dedicated to preserving the social status quo and aligned with agricultural interests. Perón, in pointing out the deepening social inequalities ravishing the country, sought to bring about instrumental change to address these ills, but with its traditional, preservationist stance, which deeply opposed Perón’s rhetoric, La Prensa eventually became confiscated in 1951. Until 1955, when it was returned to the Paz family, the original founders, the newspaper served the function of being the Perón regime’s spokesman (Kundson, p. 97). The newspaper’s confiscation and subsequent use as a tool for propaganda remains a foreboding hint to the press’ true use in the coming decades. Although a military coup forced Perón’s exile...

How Did Eva Peron Impact The World

...Eva Peron Who would you say has made a big impact on the world? The first person that comes to my mind is Eva Peron. Evita they call her, it’s amazing who she turned out to be. She started from nothing, but became someone Argentina would never forget. She has done the unthinkable and the unexpected again and again. Who knew such a degraded girl immersed in poverty would rise to become Argentina’s first lady? Eva Peron was born on May 7, 1919 in Los Toldos, Argentina. At a very young age, Eva’s father, Juan Duarte died in an automobile crash sending Eva’s family into even more poverty due to one less working parent. Eva’s mother now had to take care of five people not including her. Some of Eva’s siblings got a job that didn't pay much while others tried to marry into riches. However, Eva had a dream. At age 15, she dreamt of fame and fortune. She wanted to be seen in movies and to be heard on the radio. Little did she know that she’d turn out to be so much more than she ever imagined. Competition and popularity in the cinema was increasing in an alarming rate. She arrived at the city where the dreams of the Argentina’s youth come true. Eva faced many years of hard work and tiresome nights of periodic hunger and feebleness. An endless feeling of trying to survive accompanied her. Eva’s biggest accomplishment in the industry was in 1943 where she participated in a radio series called “Heroines of History”. Along with this amazing opportunity that changed her future came those who...

Km Case

...Background: Martinez, 36 years old, married, and a mother of two, is a CPA with an MBA degree. After working in Makati for a number of years, she married a classmate in MBA School and eventually resigned to concentrate on raising a family. By then, with her two children already studying, she was able to accept a part-time teaching position at a university in Quezon City. In mid-1998, Martinez’s aunt came for a visit and asked her if she would be interested to serve as a director of the Rural Bank of Galvez in a southern Mindanao province. Martinez’s late mother hailed from this province and had held some stocks in the bank, which Martinez inherited when her mother passed away. Her mother’s sister, Martinez’s aunt, had been a director of the bank for more than 15 years. But she was already 66 years old and has grown tired of attending the Board meetings of the bank, which were held monthly. Martinez’s aunt reminded her that she had an obligation to help the small bank that her mother’s family had helped set up and managed since the early 1970s. Martinez was delighted by the offer. She felt that, being a director of the rural bank would provide her an excuse to visit her mother’s hometown and meet many of her relations there. Martinez was also enthused because she knew that two of her relatives in Galvez were members of the Board – Tony Gonzalez, who was then the bank’s president, and Jaime Villa, the treasurer. In early November of 1998, Martinez flew to the province...
