My name is Champaign Reeves and receiving a scholarship would mean a future career in International Relations and Foreign Affairs for me. As of right now, I am majoring in International Relations and studying a minor in Asian Studies and. If I do get a scholarship, I will use it to continue my education, and I will use the knowledge from my major for my career. My acceptance at Cleveland State University, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has given the opportunity to forge ahead with my plans. Throughout my elementary and high school education, I have applied and honed various study strategies and work ethics characteristics. Determined to work hard to succeed has been at the basis of my focus. During my schooling, I was committed to obtaining good grades, to expanding my knowledge, and to learning how to be proficient and efficient. As a plus, I enjoyed and benefited from those who presented the process and the information to me and those who were my classmates and added to my learning journey. I expect myself to continue the learning journey by working hard, being responsible and accountable for my education and accomplishing my goals. At an early age, I have been enthralled with the Asian culture. I have an undying interest, love, and respect for learning different cultures. As I was deciding upon a major for college, I tried to choose a major that seemed “practical”, tried to heed the advice of others and please them, but I was only content when I announced that my new major was International Relation with a minor in Asian Studies. My family and friends were extremely proud of me because I had the courage to pursue my true passion. The opportunity for me to study abroad in Japan was made possible last summer. It opened doors to endless opportunities and to a very bright future. This experience has giving me options in teaching English in Asian countries while maintain my degree in International Relations. If I don’t get a job in Japan, I do have back up plans in getting a job in other Asian countries. I am an excellent investment in our future in this highly growing global society. I am not afraid to step outside of the box and make my mark in this world on my own terms and in my own special way. Through this career commitment, I will exemplify my responsibilities, employ my caring attitude and fulfill my ambitions. With the help receiving any kind of scholarship, those objectives will be realized.
