The idea behind "The Secret" is as follows: positive thoughts bring positive outcomes and you get what you think about in life. Furthermore all things living are comprised of energy and the idea is to channel that energy for your own gain. Clearly those who were interviewed during the making of the film had a handle on these beliefs and confessed that they were devoted to living life according to the rules governed by "The Secret". The Law of Attraction is the belief that thoughts influence change. “Like Newtonian laws of physics, that pertain to our interaction in the physical world, such as the law of gravity, these universal laws describe how we interrelate on more subtle levels, via our actions, thoughts, feelings and emotions. Of these laws, the Law of Attraction is only one.” – (Dr. Rita Louise). The Law of Attraction covers social attractions. What do people look for in a friend? What do men look for in a girl? What do girls look for in a guy? It all depends on what fits your wants and/or needs. It’s like the phrase “survival of the fittest” but with relationships. The easiest way to look at it is by acknowledging the idea that men try to impress women by strength, looks, and confidence. Here’s a quick scenario: If there’s one girl that 10 guys are battling for, who is the girl going to pick? She is probably going to choose the man who is the strongest, best looking, and most confident. She wants someone who can take care of her, keep her safe, someone she can trust, etc. Although trust is listed, it takes time for strong trust to build up. Some people might look at trust differently than others. Some might trust someone right when they meet them until the other person does something untrustworthy, but usually people don’t completely trust anyone that they just met. Long lasting trust takes time to build. Friends are supposed to be people who you can talk to, have fun with, play sports with, watch movies with, and anything else you would do with a friend. But a best friend is more than that. A best friend should fit all the characteristics of a normal friend plus other things such as strong long lasting trust, supporting, encouraging, very respectful, and caring. What makes someone your girlfriend/boyfriend? Look past just asking them to be your girlfriend… What made you like them in the first place? What were you attracted to? Most people have heard of locus of control or self-control and recognize that without control, they can cause chaos. Many people have lost locus of control to misunderstood concept or myth. Recently, the book, The Secret, brings up a topic of control of its own life. According to the book, law of attraction reveals that core message of "The Secret" is that we are in control of our destiny. It is still debatable. Many want to take control of their lives. It is common for people to feel that events are taking over and they are being buffeted by a storm of school, work responsibilities, pressure and tax time. But as a student, I can encourage myself to believe that calm waters lie ahead.

The locus of control concept was introduced by the psychologist Julian Rotter in 1966. The locus of control refers to what individuals believe is the controlling force behind the events that happen to them. It can be described as either internal or external. Individuals with an internal locus of control are likely to believe that events result from their own behaviors and actions.
Individuals with an internal locus of control are willing to take responsibility for their own actions, and for what happens to them. Also, individuals with an internal locus of control generally have a positive attitude because they feel that they can have an impact on their own lives. Individuals with an external locus of control believe that powerful people, chance, or luck determines events. Individuals with an external locus of control may have a tendency to distance themselves from events and their consequences; blaming others, fate, or the situation for what is happening, instead of them taking responsibility. As a result, individuals with an external locus of control often fail to have positive attitudes because they feel paralyzed.

The Fundamentals of Law of Attraction

...The Fundamentals of the Law of Attraction The Law of Attraction is the most fundamental of all universal laws. Out-pacing the laws of gravity and velocity, well-beyond the measurements of science, The Law of Attraction is the basis for who YOU are. For those who are new to conscious thinking, this idea that your thoughts create your reality might be as whimsical as a spotted leopard running free through the city streets. As a crazy notion, a "New Age" scam, even an "airy-fairy" mind twister, the Law of Attraction is not a new idea. This rather fundamental concept has been around for ages, often hidden from the masses by those who wish to keep people "unconscious". For those who have had some experience with this concept, they might find these words refreshing and fulfilling. This idea is not new to them but is a reminder of what they already know. Your thoughts do indeed create your reality. Thoughts are forms of energy that are sent ahead and eventually manifest as physical matter. The thoughts you think determine the outcome of your worldly experiences, from finances to health, relationships to environment. In fact, there is no aspect of your life that is not affected by your thoughts. Most of us were taught to be sloppy thinkers. We remain frozen in worry or defeated by fear. We believe that we have become victims of our circumstances. As our thoughts remain negative or mostly unconscious, we end up attracting by default. We are stunned when we develop a horrible...

A Secret

...Basically: - Thoughts become things... Whatever you dwell on will manifest into real life events, be it good or bad. - Law of attraction states that when you think of good things, good things come to you. Dwell on the bad, depressing or keep giving out negative energy, bad things will happen to you. Ok it sounds like some enlightenment scripture crap so far but here's the awesome part... - You can attract into your life EVERYTHING you have dreamed of if you use The Secret, and use it well. You can have money, looks, love, career, health - ANYTHING. You can even wish for a harem or a spaceship. The secret isn't like religion, it doesn't judge. It doesn't care about whether you are a good person or a paedophile. You just need to follow the instructions. And what are the instructions? You start by asking. You ask the universe for what you want, and it will find a way to deliver it to you. You don't have to figure out how to achieve it, the universe will just GUIDE you there. Don't believe it? When Walt Disney first put pencil to paper and drew a mouse, do you think he ever envisioned or planned the route to movie empires or giant theme parks? No, he had a dream, and the universe made it happen for him. After asking you virtualize, try to imagine yourself already obtaining your wish. Never ever do "negative" wishes ie "I don't want to be poor" because if you keep thinking you are poor, you will constantly be. Change it to "I want to be rich!"...

...depicts this world as full of abundance and it is all waiting for one to access it. It is possible by the utilization of the most powerful law known to man, the law of attraction. The law of attraction is based on the belief that “like attracts like” by focusing on thoughts sent out to the universe, both positive and negative, by an individual which can bring about positive or negative results. It highlights that people and their thoughts are pure energy and the belief that like energy attracts like energy. In the video, it depicts the universe as a sort of “magic genie” and the individual having an endless amount of free wishes. It emphasises that it is important that you feel good; the more you feel good, the more you will attract things that make you feel good. This concept is very empowering and motivating. It makes me feel that I can take on the world once I have a positive attitude to life and the endless riches that are available for me. The law of attraction states that it is present in abundance for each person and this is good news for me; I want to manifest greatness in all I endeavour to pursue. In preparation for the gruelling five years ahead of me in medical sciences, I thought it imperative to rejuvenate my beliefs in this life changing “way of life”. I rummaged through my bookshelf looking for the book “Laws of attraction, by Esther and Jerry Hicks and downloaded “The Secret” online. I wanted to ensure that my mind and consciousness in my thought patterns would...

This postulates that similar things are attracted, so when you have a thought, this thought attracts to you similar thoughts. The Secret Made Simple: The law of attraction is a natural law, as it is the law of gravity. As such it is impartial. How to Use the Secret: Ask for, believe, and receive. The Secret to Money: To attract money, focus on wealth. It is impossible to attract money if you are constantly thinking about the "lack of money”. The Secret to Relationships: When you want to attract a relationship, make sure your thoughts, actions, and surroundings are not in conflict with those desires. The Secret of Health: Healing through the mind works harmoniously with medical science. The Secret to the World: That, to which you resist, attracts you. This is because you are strongly focused on it. The Secret to You: Everything is energy. You are an energy magnet, so you can energize everything to you, and electrically energize yourself to attract what you want. The Secret to Life: You are responsible to fill the blackboard of your life with whatever you want. All you need to do is "to feel good now". Response The Secret, by Rhonda Byrne is the most interesting book I have ever read. I firmly believe in The Law of Attraction. It says: “Whatever you send out of positive thoughts to the Universe comes back to you.” It is a like “karma” and...

The Secret

...lastly, it will make you successful. The Secret is kept hidden from thousands of people and they let their ignorance spread to people; it was buried, coveted, suppressed and it was never revealed to the public. According to Bob Proctor, a philosopher, the secret gives you anything you want; happiness, health, and wealth. He also said that “we become what we think”, which means whatever we think it predict our future. The law of Attraction is The Secret; what we see, hold, or even our thoughts are equivalent to what we need, want or even demand and it attracts to you. Like what I watched and jotted down, an optimistic thought is a thousand’s more powerful than pessimistic thought. The more you think, the more it will happen because the universe is reacting to what you want; which means that it attracts what you think. Also, mind shaping what it being perceive it is always your choice at the end. Let go of the bad habits, the old routine focus on new choices or what you want even more rather than doing the same old boring and unhappy ways.
