In leader like Jesus this book, Ken Blanchard &Phil Hodges instructions to his disciples on how they here to lead and how the Jesus sent a clear the message to all who would follow him that leadership was to be the first and take the front to an act of service. Blanchard &Phil Hodges thought Jesus Christ is a servant leader because as servant leader is to do all; so he can to make life better for others--to free them to be everything they can be. If someone want to be a successful leader God will intended that one to be. They also assert we have a confident to become a servant leader, not self-servant leader. A servant leader is a leader who serves rather than be servant. Also, the Blanchard & Phil Hodges focused on four “H” (heart, heads, hands, Habits) necessary to be a true servant leader.
First for heart, “heart “this word is define in our soul, emotions, and passions. More clearly, the heart of a leader is the foundation of her/his life, this drives in passion for lord and make the passion for services in effect other way. In servant leadership, using our heart can affect other people because everyone have opportunity to influence the thinking and behavior of other. Second, the author describe the head of a servant leadership. The head is someone perspective and visions. The clear vision is critical to success in anything we do because it is a good idea and strategy with tactics. The vision must have a purpose, a picture of the future and values.
Third, the author talking about the head contains someone’s perspective and visions. A servant leader’s perspective must have intent and must have motivation to others. A servant leader must also have a vision. This vision must have three parts. The vision must have a purpose, a picture of the future and values. To implement a vision, a purpose, a picture of the future and values have to be clearly defined. To lead without defining these areas is a dangerous practice for a servant leader.
For my perspective, servant leader is spiritual component to the makeup of every person because the component will motivations intrinsic and extrinsic own self to influencing others in positive or negative way. I also believes our spirituality and God is critical to successful in servant leadership because servant leadership is an approach focusing on leadership form leader 's the point of views and behavior to sacrifice own self to achieve the goal or better to severs others. God will form intrinsic and extrinsic to put the follower first, help them to develop their potential power. Therefore spiritual in servant leadership is key word form person to God. I think the position of Blanchard & Hodges is reasonable because help others people to understand how the Christian leader idea and servant leadership is effects personal to the world. For me the heart of leadership is forgiveness is a process to save own self and willing to put down revenge to others. Forgiveness could not to leave things as never happen and forgive is not to forget everything. We can't forget when we suffering in the pain. Forgiveness is when we suffer the injured and choose to forgive which people was giving hurt. Forgiveness is a choice for will. Grace is save the people which is come from the pain According read chapter2, I know the forgiveness is for servant leader can learned the past mistake and errors to make the follower to improve. In my opinion, the “head” of servant leadership is a clear vision is critical to success in anything we do because It is a good idea and strategy with tactics. The clear vision is like creating the “big picture” strategy will get the formulate to structure divorces form tactics, tactics will resulting in an imperfect fit between idea and execution. Strategy must never be formulated without stimulation creating tactics. I also think it applies to the personal as well as organizational. In personal opinion, a clear vision is Successful principle is translate into of distant view target the continuous method of specific action. In the organizational, the clear vision will help in the development the group of people and motivating them going into the higher purpose.
After to learn in the “heart” of servant leadership, I realize that although human is so weak and inadequate that he is unable to govern himself, still can change to influence to others. I think the position of Blanchard & Hodges is reasonable because help others people to understand how the Christian leader idea and servant leadership is effects personal the world. In addition, I also learned God’s forgiveness is the act of forgiving does not come easy for most of us. Our natural instinct is to reflecting in self-protection when we've been hurt. We don't naturally overflow with mercy, grace and understanding when we've been wronged. In the head of leadership, I learn a clear vision is critical to success in anything we do. A clear vision is a preparation for something before you do it. In conclusion, this book truly offers a solid framework along with practical advice for anyone who wants to better understand leadership. One doesn’t even have to be a follower of Jesus to benefit from the wisdom and insights shared.
