Intellectual property, which include copyrights, patents, trademarks, and brand names, is a vital asset of most MNCs (multinational corporations) and a major problem in the export of CDs and books to politically high risk countries due to the growing threat of theft or piracy of intellectual property rights (IPR). In 1995 alone, according to the Washington-based International Intellectual Property Alliance, it was projected that nearly $15 billion in revenues from U.S. companies around the world had been lost to IPR piracy, that figure has since climbed dramatically. Of the $15 billion that was lost in 1995, 41% of it stemmed from Asia Pacific countries with China leading the pack producing over $2.3 billion in fraudulent CDs, books, movies, and software for domestic use and to flood the export market (Strizzi, Kindra,ND). In 2003, for every three CDs sold throughout the world one was a pirate copy. If one adds music cassettes into the mix that accounts for 40% of

Literature

...UNIT -1 Vanka By- Anton Chekhov- Know the author- Anton Pavlovich Chekhov ( 29 January 1860– 15 July 1904) is a major Russian playwright and master of the modern short story. He is a literary artist of concise precision who explored below the surface of life, laying bare the secret motives of his characters.. Concentrating on clear insignificances, they create a special kind of atmosphere, sometimes termed lasting or emotional. Chekhov describes the Russian life of his time using a dishonestly simple technique devoid of prominent literary devices, and he is regarded as the outstanding representative of the late 19th-century Russian realist school. His famous works are: “Three sisters", "The Cherry Orchard", "The Lady with the Dog" and others. SUMMARY The story opens  on Christmas Eve with Vanka, a poor orphan of age of nine, sitting down to write a letter to his grandfather living in a unknown village in Russia. After his mother's death Vanka is transferred to new masters in Moscow to live with family of Alyahim the shoemaker. Alyahin and his wife oppress the little orphan, who grows frustrated with the situation and tries to contact his grandfather to ask him for help.   As he writes the letter, Vanka recalls his grandfather and his life at the village before he was apprentices to this new home. After the letter is finished, the little boy puts down the name of his grandfather,Konstantin Makarich, and as address he writes down "the village". He is also not aware...

...disadvantage by opening up everything. It's a clever act. But belive me it pays off well.  BEST ANSWER: Start with the present and tell why you are well qualified for the position. Remember that the key to all successful interviewing is to match your qualifications to what the interviewer is looking for. In other words you must sell what the buyer is buying. This is the single most important strategy in job hunting.  So, before you answer this or any question it's imperative that you try to uncover your interviewer's greatest need, want, problem or goal.  To do so, make you take these two steps: 1. Do all the homework you can before the interview to uncover this person's wants and needs (not the generalized needs of the industry or company) 2. As early as you can in the interview, ask for a more complete description of what the position entails. You might say: “I have a number of accomplishments I'd like to tell you about, but I want to make the best use of our time together and talk directly to your needs. To help me...

Patter for Research Paper

...Chapter 1 THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND Introduction English language teaching has become very important because of the global status of English and people all over the world are learning this language. English language programs worldwide have become increasingly aware of the needs for curriculum review due to both demographic and situational changes taking place. As students’ populations, societal views, and institutional factors are constantly changing, English language programs need to be implemented routinely to make the changes necessary to facilitate the desired outcome of the program. Determining the needs of students is seen as a direct way to inform the teachers of the possible goals and objectives necessary to create a teaching and learning environment suited to the needs of the students. According to Nunan, 1989, the effectiveness of a language program will be dictated as much by the attitudes and expectations of the learners by the specifications of the official curriculum. It is important to understand how students’ perceived language needs because this will give the language teachers the idea on what to teach to the learners. The needs of a learner represent the gap between what the learner wants to get out of the learning experience and his or her current state of knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm (Noessel, 2003). Each learner is unique, and brings to the learning situation his or her own different learning style, knowledge set, pool of past experiences...
