During a recent fire drill, the students held their hands over their ears instead of lining up at the door. Once we got them to the door we told them we are now going outside and four of the students turned toward the gym instead of toward the door that had been opened for them. In another case, while role-playing, the students were told that a classmate’s dress was on fire and was asked what to do, instead of answering...

Each action taken to succeed in safeguarding children and young people will be connected to a legislation or framework for children and young people. There are seven main legislations and frameworks that I will be explaining and they are as follows; United Nations Convention on the rights of the child (1989), the children act (1998, updated in 2004), every child matters (2003), the data protection act (1998), framework for the assessment of children in need and their parents (2000), common framework (England) and the human rights act (1998). Business Strategy

...Executive Summary- * My idea * “The Thrifty Princess”, an online store dedicated to trading, buying, and selling used children’s clothing. * Why do I want to do this? * Children grow out of clothes so fast that it is difficult to keep up in the cost of new clothing every 6 months. * Research * A SWOT analysis points out the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this idea. * Porter’s 5 forces. * Findings * The biggest threat being large competitors, the biggest strength being the online convenience for working mothers wanting to recycle and save money. The biggest weakness is profitability, and the greatest opportunity is the bad economy promoting affordable methods to purchasing clothing for children. * Recommendation * Instead of charging a registration fee to enter the site, a fee per transaction would make this idea profitable. Advertising will help bring in profits as well. My Idea! Trading has been used since the earliest times – from the prehistoric ages to the medieval ages, and even up to now. Our ancestors have been using the trading system when money was not yet available. I want to start a trading company. I want people to be able to trade, buy, or sell children’s clothes but in an online type of platform. There are previous businesses such as “ Twice as Nice Kids” that are physical stores where you can go sell or trade children’s merchandise. I feel an online...

History

...in a school in Beaufort County, South Carolina in 1885. To reconstruct a 30- year- old black female teaching in a school in Beaufort County, SC during 1885 the primary sources I would use student/class roster, lesson plans, or her educational transcripts. I would use the student/class roster to see what type of students she was teaching and dealing with. I would the lesson plans. This would give me an idea on how the structure of her class was and how she planned her school day. I would also use her educational transcripts because back in those times she probably was not able to attend the she may have wanted or even in that area. I imagine that there were not a lot of black educators. Teaching would already be a challenge based gender. She probably had a rough time because racism was still at all time high during those times. Her classroom I’m sure was over crowed with black students. I could also visualize money was scarce for education; the black community more than likely had to fund their own education while money was allocated for the whites. This would make it hard for her to get the necessary resources to teach.    4. An adolescent Mandan Indian female living in Missouri in the 1880s. As young Mandan Indian female I would use artifacts such as clothing. I would also use a birth certificate. This would provide me with what tribe she is from. I would also use a diary; since she is young I’m sure she would have type of transcript. I envision life as an...
