Letter to a friend

Dear friend,
I am very sorry for all of your misfortunes that you and your son have encountered so here are some answers to your question, I hope all of this information helps you and can guide you in the right direction. I understand they did not read you your Miranda rights; however police required reading you your rights if you get arrested, if this does not happen it does not mean your case will automatically be thrown out. If the police have great deal of evidence that you did commit a crime, the officer did not need to rely on your answers to any question to convict you of your crime. ("Miranda Warning", 2007-2010) I understand that the police have not questioned you yet; it is recommended that you don’t talk to the police because you are more likely to dig yourself a hole. You need to get yourself as much knowledge and just keep your mouth shut until you have legal counsel present.
In Missouri this is a class A misdemeanor to falsify student residence forms or waivers. This is a state offense because each state has its own requirements to guide them. This is punishable by up to a year in prison or up to a thousand dollar fine. Missouri residency requirements do not pertain to homeless children. Please keep this in mind. I think it is in your best interest to have an attorney for this reason and to advise you on what steps you need to take upon getting your son back. Sometimes one can be appointed for you if you cannot afford one. Simple forms will be given to you to fill out then an attorney will contact you. Once you see an attorney or the judge you can ask him about a signature bond. Sometimes you can be released on your own recognizance. Your attorney and you can go over the police reports with you but you may also go into the main police department and request a copy of them for a very minimal fee.

Response To The Ethicist Problem

...Luke Weiner 9/4/16 “My Response to the Ethicist Problem” The letter sent to the ethicist was about one’s dilemma on whether it is the right thing to do by telling her friend’s husband about her affairs with other men. The author of the letter displays her disgust with her friend as well as her willingness to tell her husband about her affairs which would consequently end up with the loss of a very dear friend. The Ethicist begins his response by stating that marital affairs are no one else’s business but finds her friend’s reasons for remaining married as selfish because she is only in it in order to fulfill her own desires. If her friend showed any remorse or regret for her actions than this situation would be completely different. This is simply not the case and the ethicist reminds the letter writer of her disapproval and disgust towards her friend. The ethicist also references Aristotle in saying that friendship involves reciprocation and the happiness, which overwhelms them when they are in each other’s company. The...

Letter to Government

...experiencing a wonderful winter in the state of Maryland. We have not had a bad winter however, on the days expecting snow it always turns into a disaster. My husband called me on the phone this morning stating that he was unable to take my friend to the airport due to the snow plows blocking the driveway completely with snow. I had to leave my work that morning to try and make calls to make sure that the situation would not happen again. This is not the only time that this has happened. It happens very often when we get snow. I spoke with the men driving the truck at the time of the incident and advised him that my friend needs to get to the airport right away or she will miss her flight. He advised me that I needed to plow out my driveway because he needed to be somewhere else. I did not take that lightly at all. I contacted his boss who stated that I need to speak with the local government and make a complaint. I became irate at this point and began to scream and throw a fit which was not good at all. After several times of trying to contact you I kept running into a hard rock. I have left several messages and still have yet to receive a phone call back due to this matter. I am writing you this letter to explain my situation. My friend came in town to visit for a few days. Not knowing that we were expected to get snow at the time we received it. She was only to be here for a weekend. Due to the snow we received we were blocked in our house because the snow plows pushed snow...

How Did Gandhi Agree In His Letter To Gandhi, 1930?

...“I Shall Be Arrested” Gandhi, 1930 Mahatma Gandhi wrote this letter to his dear friend Nehru, just prior to his march to the sea to demonstrate against the British law of not being able to make salt. Gandhi’s remarks profess, “things are developing extraordinary well,” the more important thing is not him personally, but the demonstration to be held and with no violence. He was prepared to meet any resistance on the road for independence. We can see from the letter the ultimate goal was the involvement of the people towards obtaining independence (Gandhi) At the time that he wrote this letter, Gandhi had just begun two “large civil disobedience campaigns” (Findley, 189). Even with all that was going on, the letter shows, “remarkable calm...

Letter Writing

...years past, this does not mean you need to put up with abusive, rude, inconsiderate, or unprofessional behavior. Most clients are reasonable people, but some are not. Do not allow a difficult or unreasonable client to bully you. Should you be respectful? Of course. Should you follow orders? Yes. Should you let other people treat you badly or make you feel bad about yourself? Definitely not! Consultant Howard Shenson said that for a client/service provider relationship to be effective, the relationship must be one of equals, of peers. While that sounds good, I’m not sure it’s accurate and viable anymore. In today’s marketplace, the clients are in the driver’s seat, and clearly, they know it. No matter how good you are, no matter how big your reputation, the client controls the dollars and therefore controls you. You exist to serve the client. Therefore the client/service provider relationship is more boss/employee than peer/peer. Vendors who think otherwise are, for the most part, fooling themselves. Letters are typically spaced one, two, or four weeks apart. The intensity and aggressiveness of the collection letter increases as the series progresses. The last letter typically states that unless payment is made promptly, the invoice will be turned over to a collection agency or attorney. Another effective tactic is to suggest that the customer’s credit rating may be damaged by nonpayment of the bill. LETTER #1 This letter is to notify the customer that the...

Advice to a Friend on Choosing a Mistress

...30/11/2013 Rhetorical Analysis of Advice to a Friend on Choosing Mistress Advice to a Friend on Choosing Mistress is a letter written by Benjamin Franklin in June 25th 1745 to his friend. The speech of this letter is essentially communicated to single men. The author gave advices particularly to his friend on which type of woman he should date if he is not ready to get married. Franklin preceded his lustful consulting by an apology for the marriage, recalling his friend how much carnal pleasures are favourable in a legal and recognized union. In his message, Franklin advises his friend that marriage is the best solution not for only sexual desires but also the undisputable source of solid happiness. Having suspicions that his friend would not follow his guidance, Franklin recommends him to choose older mistresses instead of younger ones and lists eight valuables reasons to better support his argument. Franklin commences his essay by presenting advantages of the marriage. He says ‘’ I know of no medicine fit to diminish the violent inclinations you mention…Marriage is the proper remedy. It is most natural state of man and therefore the state in which you can are most likely to find solid happiness’’. Through those sentences, Franklin seems to estimate that from a masculine’ view, one of the main advantages of the marriage is to bring pacification toward requirements of the flesh. The recipient of the letter who was the friend of the author seemed to be looking for a situation...

...Comp 1 Homework 2. (TWO LETTERS) Due Date 4/1/2014. Topic :- The Massachusetts public smoking ban will be expanded to prohibit smoking in public parks, within one thousand feet of a building entrance and in all parking facilities. The ban will extend to electronic cigarettes as well. My purpose for this letter is to inform by expressing my happiness for the ban. This letter is addressed to my Senator and will be formal. March 31, 2014. Senator Elizabeth Warren U.S Senator For Massachusetts. 2400 JFK Federal Building, 15 New Sudbury Street. Boston MA 02203. Dear Sen. Warren. The recently enacted Massachusetts smoking ban is a wonderful idea. It brings joy to my heart that the legislature finally has gotten what concerned citizens such as myself have been trying to bring to the forefront for some time now. I believe that our entrance ways and parking facilities should and have to be smoke free. I also believe that we do not know the true effects of electronic cigarettes, but still very happy that it was included in the ban. It is my belief that all tobacco products should be banned even though some smokers believe that they are supporting the economy with the taxes imposed on such products. I believe that smokers want to levy their ideas against non-smokers because it is their right to. But they may be doing more harm than good. I am writing you today to emphasize that we should stand firm on the smoking ban. I will lend my support in any possible. I hope...

Effective Career Exploration

...Want a job? Need a job? That’s easy, anyone can get just a job. However, if you are looking for a career (and yes, they are two distinctly different things) then before actually seeking out new employment there are three things you need. The first is, knowing the industry in which you want to work and an understanding of what the requirements are to be a candidate for that field. Next, you need a resume. Microsoft Word provides resume templates, for free, to assist you in creating a personalized resume. Last, but certainly not least, you will need a cover letter to accompany your resume when applying for positions. Keep in mind the cover letter will be the first document a hiring manager will read. Research general cover letters and industry specific ones. Use your research to assist you in writing your own. Don’t go the generic route or plagiarize anyone else’s. Make sure to highlight your strengths and allow your personality to come through and jump off the page, setting your cover letter apart from the dozens of others that the hiring manager will read that week. Entering, or reentering as the case may be, the workforce is always a daunting task. Compound this with an economy which has been notoriously struggling, increasing student loan debt, upside down mortgages and many employers unwilling to pay fair market wages based on expertise and/or education, and choosing a career can seem more difficult than sitting for the Series 7 exam. If you are newly entering the workforce...

Letter to Friend Explaining Court Processes

...University of Phoenix Material Letter to Friend Explaining Court Processes Your Learning Team receives the following letter from a former team member and friend: Dear Friends, I find myself in quite a predicament due to my own misfortune and bad judgment. My 6-year-old son and I were recently left homeless after I was laid off from my job and my house was taken by the bank. I enrolled my son in a nearby elementary school when school started in the fall. I used the address where I lived last, because I don’t have a current address. The school district discovered that I wasn’t living at that address and charged me with fraud. I was arrested yesterday and haven’t yet been to court. My son was placed in the care of protective services. I just want to get out of jail as soon as possible to reunite with my son. I have some questions, and I was hoping you could do some research to find the answers for me. • The police never read me my Miranda warnings. Will my case be dismissed as a result? • The police also haven’t questioned me yet. Should I agree to talk to them, if asked? • Is this considered a state or federal offense? • Will this be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony? • Do you think I really need an attorney? After all, I am guilty, and I can’t afford one. • I also don’t have any money for bail. Are there any options that would allow me to be released from custody prior to trial and that would not require money? • How do...

Few subordinate clauses and unfinished sentences with a lot of repetitions. The word "and" -> listings, is one of the most used words in spoken language. There are also many contractions (e.g. it´s). Task 14: In your essay you need to use written language.
