...A Life Styles Inventory Awakening The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) Self-Description helps individuals recognize certain thinking styles within themselves to help better understand how they can improve in personal and professional relationships. Each of the 12 styles are given a number from 1-12 and are arranged in a circular graph much like a clock. The styles are then grouped into three distinct categories: Construction Styles, Passive/Defensive Styles and Aggressive/Defensive Styles. After taking the LSI myself, I found it to be somewhat eye opening in certain categories. The LSI identified my primary thinking style at the 7 o’clock position as Oppositional, which is in the Aggressive/Defensive Style. Against the 9,207 people of which have taken the test, I scored 84% higher in this section. This indicates that this is a strong personality trait and very much like me. Some of the traits of this behavior are: the ability to ask tough questions; a negative, cynical attitude; a sarcastic sense of humor and some one who typically loves to argue. Many of these descriptions I would consider to be very accurate when it comes to describing me. The one that most closely relates to myself is the sarcastic sense of humor. For as long as I can remember I have had (and implemented regularly) a sarcastic sense of humor. I have also been told that I love to argue just for the sake of an argument. Behavior) January 15, 2015 The Life Styles Inventory (LSI) survey was something that helped me somewhat understand more about myself than I knew before. It also was helpful with confirming other characteristics about myself that I already knew and had knowledge of. After taking the Life Style Inventory survey, I noticed that I scored relatively high in the following areas: Perfectionist, Power, and Competitive. These three were my top out of the 12 categories or characteristics from the LSI survey. I would agree with two of the following, in which the competitive style kind of surprised me. Then again, thinking about the types of decisions and situation that I’ve come across, those three things actually play a big part in how I deal with different things. I personally believe this to be true. Growing up as mostly a visual but also auditory learner, it made most classes easier to excel in than other students. A LSI (Life Style Inventory) self-description questionnaire was presented, allowing the raw material to be analyzed and examine our way of thinking and how it influences behavior. Our results are broken up into twelve styles that reflect on our personality. But what affect does our personality play into our lives. Do these styles have an impact on our management style? Do they define who we are or how we think? Did we develop our personal style from relationships, school, or curricular activites? Let's discuss what shapes our personalities and why we act the way we do. Looking over the results from the Life Style Inventory (LSI) test, there was a consistency noted within my specific scores. My two highest scores came for the passive/defensive style. My primary style was avoidance, with a score of 98%, and my backup style was dependent, with a score of 94%.
