Conclusion 11 Bibliography 12 1. Introduction Money is, undoubtedly, evident in every aspect of professional sport. Player sponsorships and contracts, team ownership, stadia, media - its everywhere. If sport was not about the game, then arguably, sport would be about the money. Each and every week, transfers of players are made, ticket offices receive income, and money is handed from one profiteering person to the next. Where sport is widely thought to be about fair play, professional sport is, in fact, like war. There can only be one winner and what one team or individual gains, the other loses. Many sportsmen and women around the world are caught up with winning, not just because of the prowess of a title but, also because professionalism is now about money and winning is a means to an end - a financial end. Rudolf later established Puma, which was the early rival of Adidas. Registered in 1949, Adidas is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Puma is also based in Herzogenaurach. The company's clothing and shoe designs typically feature three parallel bars, and the same motif is incorporated into Adidas's current official logo.[4][5] The company revenue for 2012 was listed at €14.48 billion.[2] Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik Christoph Von Wilhelm Dassler was a worker in a shoe factory, while his wife Pauline ran a small laundry in the Bavarian town of Herzogenaurach, 20 km (12.4 mi) from the city of Nuremberg. ...Strategic Plan Strategic Plan ------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------- Netflix: Strategic Plan Prepared by Carlos Contreras Jasprit Dyal Jessica Hoeschen Francisco Solano-Downs Yen-Chen Wang Prepared for Dr. Gary Wishnjewsky Date submitted August 22, 2013 Seminar in Strategic Business Management Department of Management California State University, East Bay at Hayward, CA Management - 4650 Industry Analysis Relevant Industry Trends Netflix falls under the broad umbrella of the movies and home entertainment industry. The company has been part of the wave that is taking this industry into the future in terms of how consumers are interacting with home video entertainment in particular. In general, we can observe that consumers are increasingly demanding more instant and personalized experiences when watching video entertainment as well as more mobile availability. There seems to be a “when I want it, how I want it” type of movement among consumers with declining interest in DVD’s and scheduled television programming and increasing use of online streaming or rental alternatives. Netflix is catering to these trends with its streaming service and seems to be well positioned, at least for now, to be successful in the future if it can manage to avoid more strategic “missteps” along the way. It is important to note how the public perceives and values films as an entertainment source here in...

Answer the following 4 questions. What is the smallest probability the intersection of A and B can have? What is the largest probability the intersection of A and B can have? What is the smallest probability the union of A and B can have? What is the largest probability the union of A and B can have? .15, .4, .75, and 1 respectively. Extra 1.2 Suppose we are rolling 2 independent, fair 10-sided die. Let A be the event that the sum of the rolls is a prime number. Let B be the event that the sum of the rolls is odd. Let C be the event that the sum of the rolls is even. Find the following sets: BC , A ∩ B, A ∪ C, A ∩ C, (A ∩ C)C , A ∩ (B ∩ C)C , (A ∩ (B ∩ C))C ? BC = C, A ∩ B = A \ {2}, A ∪ C = Ω \ {9, 15}, A ∩ C = {2}, (A ∩ C)C =Ω \ {2}, A ∩ (B ∩ C)C = A, and (A ∩ (B ∩ C))C = Ω. Extra 1.3 Suppose a lottery has balls numbered 1-20. 4 balls are picked at random and without replacement. Let A be the event that all 4 balls are even. Let B be the event that all 4 balls are less than 10. Let C be the event that all 4 balls are primes. (Allow 1 to be a prime.) Find P(A), P(B), and P(C). (Hint an extended general multiplication rule could be helpful.) P(all 4 even) = (10)4 (20)4 = .0433. (9) P(all less than 10) = (20)44 = .0260.
