Newsletters

I decided to analyze the Business of Fashion newsletter. I really enjoyed the components contained within the newsletter. I was able to see the magazine elements and blog similarities. A newsletter is a bulletin issued periodically to the members of a society, business, or organization. It is generally about one main topic that is of interest to its subscribers.
General features of newsletters include news and upcoming events of the related organization, as well as contact information for general studies. Newsletters are the most mis-used marketing tool around. The Business of Fashion use of newsletters are very effective. The Business of Fashion newsletter use it to reveal worldwide clothing, spread the news of particular designers, and wardrobes. It is an essential daily resource for fashion creatives, executives and entrepreneurs in many countries. Newsletters such as “The Business of Fashion” are seen as an addiction. Some people wake up and the first thing they do is read. Some newsletters are a required read.
The audience is anyone who would benefit from the information the newsletter contains. The Business of Fashion newsletter began as a project of passion, aiming to target the informed, questioning and opinionated point of view on the fashion business. This target audience can be rich businesses in the Fashion Industry, celebrities who participate in filling their closets with fancy worldwide accessories and wardrobes. It could be anyone who are deeply interested in the fashion world. The target audience are the ones that are addicted, most of this particular audience eat, breathe and sleep these type of newsletters.
I believe this is a consumer type of newsletter, which is a public relations, advertising device. It is also very informative, whether the audience buy the designer wardrobe or not. As I was reading a specific article called “Why Fashion Is a Property Developer’s Not-So-Secret Weapon” which I found within the newsletter. It explains and examines how real estate developers work with brands, retailers and other fashion entities to recast neighborhoods, such as Dover Street Market. It is now home to fashion brands Victoria Beckham, Acne, Christian Louboutin and Jimmy Choo. This is an article that is causing awareness about specific fashion brands and where exactly they are located. Dover Street Market is not the dry, dead-end anymore, it’s popular within the fashion industry.
As I analyze this article I can provide proof of who exactly is the target audience. Different business and entrepreneurs looking to invest in the line of clothing, whether it’s in the area or not. These examples are present through the entire BoF newsletter. Everything contained in the newsletter interest and benefit all of its clients. I am aware that all newsletters come in various sizes and lengths, depending on the number of articles placed in the newsletter. BoF consist of a great amount of articles, all keeping the same topic, which is fashion. Whether it is different designers or where the boutiques are located, to what is in season and what is not. The site is also worldwide, so it range from London to Spain, it’s informative internationally as well. That’s one of the amazing components I really enjoys while I was reading different articles within the newsletter.
I believe “The Business of Fashion” newsletter excelled at different aspects of the site, such as the design. The site contains various pictures that are related to the particular article. Also I like the black and white persona of the entire newsletter. It says so much about it, but definitely not boring, which is what people describe as black and white. I enjoyed looking at the different designs and outfits that are being presented. Each one coming from a different place around the world. It really interested me and made me continue reading. The newsletter really did a good job providing news and information on specific topics to people who want to read about it. One aspect that I liked was an article named “What You May Have Missed This Week”. It summarizes the top 7 fashion news and analysis stories of the week, and highlight different attributes about it.
This definitely make it accessible for people when using the site. If you may have missed yesterday’s newsletters or articles then this make it easier to catch up on what exactly you have missed. The site offer the daily digest, news and analysis, voices, careers, BoF 500, education and fashion week news. These components increase the productiveness of the site, which benefit the target audience. Other than bringing a little bit more life the newsletter, I believe it is all around good, and definitely grasp the attention of the people.
