Long-term Goal 1: Kamal will become aware of his anxiety and depressive symptom and his maladaptive thoughts of a social situation. He will learn to replace cognitive distortion with more realistic views.

Short-Term Goals

1. Kamal will learn new skills identifying and challenging automatic thoughts. He will practice being full aware of his negative thoughts.
2. Kamal also will receive a printed handout that explains how to stop automatic thinking, how and why use distractions, how to turn automatic negative thinking neutral, and its importance of repetition and consistency.
3. Kamal will take home his homework assignment and practice slowly in real settings.
4. Kamal will learn to catch negative automatic thoughts.

Long-Term Goal 3: Kamal will learn how to shift his main core beliefs that were identified as incompetent, defective, unlikable format.

Short-Term Goals

1. Kamal will examine his core beliefs about the self, others, the world, and the future.
2. Kamal will work with the therapist to identify dysfunctional core beliefs by examining automatic thoughts that were recorded in session.
3. Kamal will practice at home too, to further examine automatic thoughts in real life social situations and discover core maladaptive beliefs.

Long-Term Goal 4: Kamal will reduce his feelings of anxiety by constructing a new reality with the therapist about how to decrease avoidance. Kamal will systematically desensitized to the idea of the anxiety-causing situations and given increasing real-life exposure.

Short-Term Goals

1. Kamal will practice giving and receiving a compliment, discuss a controversial topic and giving his opinion.
2. Kamal will have a 10-15 minute conversation with a stranger in a small group. 3. Kamal will talk with an authority
