Freshman Year

Welcome to the Study Skills Math class. In the beginning of this class you might feel bored, but it’s going to be OK, and as the year goes on, you will get better in this class. Your experience might be little different from mine because when you come they might have the different rules. You can learn a lot from this class. It will help you get ready for your tests, exams and much more. What ever you need help with you just have to ask. The teachers are the best and they have fun with you and help you out with whatever you need. The first time I came in to study skills I thought it was like a study hall. Then when I got in this class, I saw that we had to do some work. I was like, “don’t we bring work to do?” Busted my bubble. I thought this class was going to be hard, boring and no fun, but don’t judge something until you try it. I think you will really like this class. Well Title 1 helped me understand my math problems better and now I am doing the best that I can do. It helped me study and helped me out with things that I didn’t understand. Basically it helped me get a better understanding of the different kind of problems that I had questions on. Having this class made math a little bit easier for me; I am so happy that I had this class.
Title 1 has helped me as a new student to high school. At first I had a lot grade in math and reading. Now I have good grades and Title 1class helped bring my grades up a lot. During each class you will do three things each day minutes, word problems and APEX. The minutes are easy at first then they become challenging but you will get thought it. Doing these things word problems, and APEX will really help you out along the way. Coming into this class you will have a lot of tests to do which are called MAPS and Diagnostic Test. They will be hard if you don’t know the material. You will struggle, but that’s what this class is for, to help you out and to know where you are at. The tips that I would like to give to the new freshman is that high school might be a little hard but you if work as hard as you can and do all your work you will succeed at Messmer High School. It’s not that hard; you just have to pay attention and turn in your work and you can do it. The best thing is getting work done and learning something new every day. The worst part is when you are trying to do work but other kids in the class are talking alot. To keep your head up, begin strong and finish strong, and finish all your work. Freshmen year is a tough year but its going to get better as you go on. It is easy the first semester and the second semester is going to get a little harder but is High school it is pretty good for the most part. The homework is pretty easy if you listen in class and pay attention. You also have to write portfolio paper which is papers that show how your witting is doing and at the end of the year you will have quality of papers. You may want to show as an example for collage and to show you can do different kinds if writing. You will also take final exam to see where you are at and how much you improved during the semester. You will take exams in January and June. During the exam days, you have half days. This is the best part of exam days.
I have never been in Saturday school but I think it might be great for to go I hear it’s pretty good. Now Leaders, I have been to. In leaders, teachers help you out with whatever you need help with. Best of all you get a snack. I hope my letter really helps out the new freshmen that will be taking my place and all the other freshmen places to in Title 1 classes.
