Over the year both positive and negative influences have influenced my learning. The skill I have developed for learning is my aspiration is to become a midwife, this influences my learning in the way that it gives me the hunger to learn new things and improve my knowledge and grades. By improving my knowledge I will be able to go onto the next stage of my development. I believe that if I did not have such a desire to be a midwife, it would affect my learning by creating a mental blockage which would stop my ability to take things in and learn as I would become lazy and not interested from the lack of direction in my life. As soon as I realised what I wanted to do as a career, it really highlighted my priorities and I found that I have started to focus a lot more on my assignments. I have started paying more attention in classes and producing better quality assignments which obtain me the grades I desire. This is important since it has influenced the way I work as it is positive and made my work become better and my behaviour.

A key influence on my learning is my friends which can influence my learning by distracting me during lessons which is a negative thing, however they also by helping me to catch up on work. In some ways, friends can motivate me since they encourage me to do my work and to get my assignments done on time so I am able to achieve what I want. Furthermore they also motivate me as they help me with my work when I need it instead of waiting to ask a teacher which cannot be done as easily.. Friends have a positive influence on my learning since they are aware of the things that I am doing so that they know what I should be working on as they are doing the same thing as me.
