Expository Essay

...Expository Essay October-2-2011 Expository Essay Joe Chernov, public relations executive whose arms are inked from wrists to biceps with Asian-themed tattoos, applied for a position at a conservative company, where he was given a chance for an interview. Upon this interview he decided to wear a long cuffed shirt which he usually would not wear as it ended up showing part of his tattoo on his wrist. He didn’t get the job even though he was more than qualified for the position he had applied for, it could be questioned if the tattoos had anything to do with this decision made by the interviewing company (Pyrillis, 2010). Although people have tattoos and body piercings in a workplace their performance while working should matter not their appearance. With that in mind it can be viewed that tattoos and body piercings in a workplace or during a hiring process can make speculations of unfair judgment against potential employees, since it can be argued that the interviewer bases their opinion of the candidate with the tattoos or piercings work off of their appearance versus their work history, performance, and work ethics. Many persons feel as though it is necessary to cover up any tattoos or piercings while in their workplace. One example would be a survey of two thousand twenty people was taken where sixty eight percent of men and seventy two percent of women felt it necessary to cover up their tattoos and/or piercings in the workplace (Pyrillis...

...MODULE 8 – ESSAY 3 DEGREE PROGRAM THEOLOGY/TURABIAN PRESENTED TO PROFESSOR KEVIN HARTLESS FOR ENGL 101 – D09 BY REV. JOSEPH T. WHITAKER, III LU23755920 LIBERTY UNIVERSITY LYNCHBURG, VA AUGUST 11, 2015 2 Christian Environmental Responsibility The Holy Bible gives clear instructions concerning the natural environment and the Christian’s sacred duty to preserve and restore the planet Earth. God has provided direct instructions as well as guidelines in principle, for all Christians to obey and honor. The question arises, what conduct and actions are imperative and biblically mandated for Christians to engage in concerning the environment and its preservation and restoration? Research reveals that God requires mankind to contribute as caretakers and stewards over His wonderful creation. The Reason for Christian Environmentalism The dictionary definition for environmentalism is expressed as: “Advocacy of the preservation, restoration, or improvement of the natural environment; especially:  the movement to control pollution.” The primary foundational reason for the practice of environmentalism is, because of the universal pollution inflicted upon all of creation as a result and consequence of mankind’s Original Sin. The fallen angel Satan introduced sin into the universe in his rebellion...

Apa Reference Writing

...APA- REFERENCE WRITING Reference List References cited in the text of a research paper must appear in a Reference List or bibliography. This list provides the information necessary to identify and retrieve each source. • Entries should be arranged in alphabetical order by authors' last names. Sources without authors are arranged alphabetically by title within the same list. • Write out the last name and initials for all authors of a particular work. • Capitalize only the first word of a title or subtitle, and any proper names that are part of a title. • Use an ampersand (&) instead of the word "and" when listing multiple authors of a single work. • Use the abbreviation p. or pp. to designate page numbers of articles from periodicals that do not use volume numbers, especially newspapers. These abbreviations are also used to designate pages in encyclopedia articles and chapters from edited books. • Indentation *: The first line of the entry is flush with the left margin, and all subsequent lines are indented (5 to 7 spaces) to form a "hanging indent." • Underlining vs. Italics *: It is appropriate to use italics instead of underlining for titles of books and journals. • The APA has special formatting standards for the use of indentation and italics in manuscripts or papers that will be typeset or submitted for official publication. Examples: Articles in Journals, Magazines, and Newspapers References to periodical articles must...

Blood Donation

...Health Care Market-Blood Donation Health Care Market- Blood Donation According to Wikipedia, blood is a specialized bodily fluid that delivers necessary substances to the body’s cells, such as nutrients and oxygen, and transports waste products away from those same cells (Wikipedia, 2011). There has been a high demand for blood, all types of blood. Statistically speaking someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds (Rare Blood Types, 2010). Due to the high need for blood, scarcity plays a role with blood donation. This paper will discuss how scarcity resources influence the market, and the choices stakeholders are forced to make. The essay will also relay the economic flows that may affect the health care market, the causes of change in supply and demand and the affects of equilibrium price and quantity, and the pricing decisions for blood donations with elasticity or inelasticity. A resource is considered scarce when its availability is not enough to meet its demand. Scarcity is based on the idea that oftentimes a limited supply of goods or services comes up against an ever increasing demand for it, and that ever effort must be made to ensure its proper utilization and distribution to avoid inefficiency (International Society for Complexity, Information, and Design, 2005). Blood is needed for many individuals, whether it is for someone that has trauma, needed surgery, needed blood transfusion, cancer patients, etc. More than 38,000 blood donations...
