In this novel, Victor Frankenstein is the main character. The book starts out with Victor having a great childhood, his mother and father adopts a little girl named Elizabeth and raises her up with Victor. His mother plans for them to get married when they grow older. Victors mother gets very ill from nursing Elizabeth. Catching scarlet fever and dyeing later on. Victor becomes very interested in the human body. How life works, how the body decays, everything about the human body he wanted to know about. When he graduated from college he decided he was going to make his own species. Justen is put to death for the murder of William Frankenstein. They believed she was the one to kill William because she had a locket with the picture of the family that William had on the night of the murder. Victor feels guilty for not confessing up and telling everyone that his creation killed his brother. People with Major Depressive Disorder also feel the complete hopelessness that doesn’t end (NIMH). PTSD is a stress disorder that people who have been through a traumatic event can have (WebMD). It can make it very hard to function properly in the real world, making it hard to stay healthy (WebMD). “They hardly know how I’ll you are” (Shelley 49) Victor Frankenstein had to have Henry Cleveral take care of him because he could not move he was so sick. People with Post traumatic stress Disorder “can develop PTSD if the even happened to them, or if they witnessed it” (Steven D.). Victor Frankenstein had a mass majority of his family die all at one time. Being stressed out and worrying whom might leave him next caused him to overly stress out. Mild Post Traumatic stress Disorder you can still function, but when stressed out it can get hard to speak, eat, talk, and even be around people (WebMD). “About 5 in the morning I found my lovely boy, whom the night before I had seen blooming and active in health”, said Williams Father (Shelley 59).
