Managers role in business today is as important in the fast paced business world as ever. Managing within functional areas of business, leadership, Human Resource management, law, and management has evolved significantly in recent years. With managers working in all levels of organizations, it is important to know who those managers are and what they are doing. With innovations such as the Internet and an environment of globalization, the roles of managers have grown exponentially. According to Robbins and Coulter (2012), "the dominant view in management theory and society in general is that managers are directly responsible for an organization’s success or failure" (Robbins & Coulter, 2012). Good managers can make the difference between harmony and chaos. Good bosses inspire and can make an impression on an individual that can last a lifetime making that individual a success in any organization. Conversely, a bad manager can make an impression on that same individual that can nurture a lifetime of bad work ethics.
Managers are an important aspect of any organization as they are responsible for everything from planning, leading, implementing and controlling the aspects of everyday business practices. Without this managers, business would not work effectively. Managers ensure efficient and effective practices are in place in order for an organization to thrive. They are responsible for ensuring that the organizations greatest assets, the employees, are informed, well prepared assets in order to make all aspects of an organization work. Managers must be well read in all aspects of running the organization. They must know or be familiar with laws that may affect the company in negative ways. As ignorance is not a defense in
