Today, I would like to introduce to all my friend about one of the most famous indoor games in Malaysia. A common alternative name used locally for this game is Haji Dam. Actually, it just the same like checkers. This game is mainly in Malaysia and Singapore, particularly amongst the older men but, nowdays , the young people of Malaysia also have already started attracted to play this game. The government also have do many things to attracted the youth to joining this game. For an example, there are tournament of Haji Dam among all school around Malaysia. It is a really joyful game. This will be played by 2 people. It is played on a board of 144 square, with 30 pieces on a side. It’s mean that 30 black seeds and 30 white seeds or sometimes in certain places they will be used black seeds and red seeds. Actually , it is not so important about the colour because when the old men played this game at the food stalls, they will just use a bottle’s cap as the seeds. If in chess game play, someone who on the white side will started the game but in haji Dam it is totally different. Who will move first, will be decided by the agreement from the both sides of players. After the first player move his pieces, the second player will start move his pieces also and it will continuously until the end of the game. In Haji Dam there are two levels of seed that is an unpromoted seed and a promoted seed. An unpromoted seed can only move and capture forward diagonally, but a promoted seed move likes a chess bishop, and can capture opponent piece anywhere along its line of movement. A seed can only be promoted when it reach the opponent side of board and it will be stake with another pieces. This promoted seed will be called as Haji. A turn must capture the maximum possible number of pieces. Failing to do so, results in forfeiture of that piece. If there is a choice between

...No Name Woman – by Maxine Hong Kingston "You must not tell anyone," my mother said, "what I am about to tell you. In China your father had a sister who killed herself. She jumped into the family well. We say that your father has all brothers because it is as if she had never been born. "In 1924 just a few days after our village celebrated seventeen hurry-up weddings-to make sure that every young man who went 'out on the road' would responsibly come home-your father and his brothers and your grandfather and his brothers and your aunt's new husband sailed for America, the Gold Mountain. It was your grandfather's last trip. Those lucky enough to get contracts waved goodbye from the decks. They fed and guarded the stowaways and helped them ofT in Cuba, New York, Bali, Hawaii. 'We'll meet in California next year,' they said. All of them sent money home. "I remember looking at your aunt one day when she and I were dressing; 1 had not noticed before that she had such a protruding melon of a stomach. But I did not think, 'She's pregnant,' until she began to look like other pregnant women, her shirt pulling and the white tops of her black pants showing. She could not have been pregnant, you see, because her husband had been gone for years. No one said anything. We did not discuss it. In early summer she was ready to have the child, long after the time when it could have been possible. "The village had also been counting. On the night the baby was to be born the villagers raided...

...Future connection growth will continue as new 4G LTE devices (smartphones and tablets) are released. These devices will attract and retain higher value retail postpaid connections, contribute to continued increases in the penetration of data services and help companies to remain competitive with other wireless carriers. However, as a result of the increasing competition within industry, some companies are expecting their churn to increase. Future growth opportunities will be dependent on expanding the penetration of network services, offering innovative wireless devices for both consumer and business customers and increasing the number of ways that customers can connect with network and services. Service and equipment pricing play an important role in the wireless competitive landscape. As the demand for wireless services continues to grow, wireless service providers are offering service plans that include unlimited voice minutes and text messages and a specific amount of data access in varying megabyte or gigabyte sizes or, in some cases, unlimited data usage at competitive prices. T-Mobile has changed the industry by also allowing customers to rollover unused data allowances to the next billing period and are also offering installment plans that decouple service pricing from equipment pricing and blur the traditional boundary between prepaid and postpaid plans. It is expected that customers will continue to adopt these installment plans, which also offer discounts on the...

Physiology of a Jellyfish

...The organism I chose to write this paper about is the jellyfish. There are more than 350 different species of jellyfish known, however, scientist estimate there may be 2,000. Since I could not pick just one to write about I thought I would just not be too specific one just one species. There are many diverse forms and they are distinguished into distinct groups. The one jellyfish I liked when I was growing up was the one you always would see in pictures or on television, this one is called the Moon jellyfish. Jellyfish are very efficient predators. They were actually, at one point in time, at the top of the food chain. They are, however, number one when it comes to the world’s most venomous species. More precise the Boxed jellyfish is number one. Jellyfish are physically fit so that they can adapt to any environment they travel to. They are very powerful, accurate swimmers. Some researchers say they are not good swimmers at all but they are wrong. Jellyfish are excellent swimmers. They can swim horizontally and vertically as well. They can do this by using contraction against their bell, the top of the jellyfish, to push out jets of water to give themselves a boost. The coronal muscle is a thick ring of powerful muscle found in the bell. This muscle produces a majority of the power and energy utilized by the jellyfish. Hanging from their subumbrellar is a projection called the manubrium. This is where a person can find the jellyfishes’ mouth. Now, the mouth is surrounded by oral...

Gucci Mane: a Thug Life

...Jennifer A. Livingston © 1997 by Jennifer A. Livingston "Metacognition" is one of the latest buzz words in educational psychology, but what exactly is metacognition? The length and abstract nature of the word makes it sound intimidating, yet its not as daunting a concept as it might seem. We engage in metacognitive activities everyday. Metacognition enables us to be successful learners, and has been associated with intelligence (e.g., Borkowski, Carr, & Pressley, 1987; Sternberg, 1984, 1986a, 1986b). Metacognition refers to higher order thinking which involves active control over the cognitive processes engaged in learning. Activities such as planning how to approach a given learning task, monitoring comprehension, and evaluating progress toward the completion of a task are metacognitive in nature. Because metacognition plays a critical role in successful learning, it is important to study metacognitive activity and development to determine how students can be taught to better apply their cognitive resources through metacognitive control. "Metacognition" is often simply defined as "thinking about thinking." In actuality, defining metacognition is not that simple. Although the term has been part of the vocabulary of educational psychologists for the last couple of decades, and the concept for as long as humans have been able to reflect on their cognitive experiences, there is much debate over exactly what metacognition is. One reason for this confusion is the...

Process Essay: The Process Of Grooming A Horse

...legs of the horse. After grooming the body of the horse the mane and tail are next. The mane and tail are the next areas to be groomed. The main is the long hair that starts between the ears and continues down the neck of the horse. Starting with the mane first spray the tangles with a mane conditioner. A “tangle” is a portion of the hair that has became twisted together no longer moving freely. This comes in a spray bottle it is meant to detangle hair similar to children's hair detangler, and it has a spray nozzle at the top. Once the tangled areas of the mane are sprayed with conditioner, then use a wide toothed comb. This comb has sturdy wide teeth and a handle. It resembles a comb that may be found in a house, however its teeth are wider apart. Use the comb to brush through the mane of the horse. Start at the base of the hair and work down towards the end of the hair. Work through the entire mane slowly adding more delangler if needed. This process allows for minimal hair breakage. Spray the tangled area until they are damp. Once the knots are removed from the mane, then use a mane and tail brush. This brush looks like a brush that would be used on human hair. The mane and tail brush has a short handle and then it goes to a flat surface with thin plastic bristles. Use this brush to continue to brush through the mane, until it can be brushed through fully without catching on knots, as the last step in grooming the mane. Next, groom the tail of the horse. Split the tail into manageable...

How Does Jem Finch Mature

...The Autobiography of Gucci Mane by Gucci Mane is an autobiography that captures the struggles Radric Davis, or Gucci Mane, had maturing. Although this may seem like a problem only Gucci Mane would have, there are a handful of other characters that go through this struggle. One character from another novel that Gucci compares to is Jem Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. Both characters have upbringings in poor communities, and just like Gucci, Jem has trouble learning how to become a man and mature. Gucci Mane is comparable to Jem Finch. Gucci Mane and Jem Finch both grew up learning about life from others. Gucci grew up in rural Alabama and East Atlanta. He talks about how he was around drug dealers and men who would murder for any given reason. He adopts this lifestyle as he delivers drugs around the neighborhood for older dealers. Early in the book, Gucci states, “I never had no positive male role models growing up so to me, these were the coolest guys I knew” (24). The men Gucci is talking about are drug dealers from his neighborhood. He thought that they...

Universal Background Checks Essay

...inmates were obtained through a retail store. The perfect example for this to be visualized will be The Columbine shooting. On April 20, 1999, there were two teens that went on a shooting spree at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. They killed thirteen people and wounded more than twenty other people before they turned their guns onto themselves and committed suicide. The guns were sold to the two young men by a man named Mark Manes. They both purchased one hundred rounds of ammunition to commit this crime. Mark Manes was sentenced to six years in prison for this illegal sale of the firearms to these under-aged children. Manes knew they were too young to purchase a firearm, but still sold it to them for five hundred dollars. The man who introduced the shooters to Manes, Philip Duran, also did some time in prison. With universal background checks, there wouldn’t have been an illegal sale and the shooting would have been prevented. With that being said, thirteen people would still be alive, twenty people wouldn’t have been injured, and Mark Manes and Philip Duran would be free men. Universal background checks keep guns from criminals. Most gun related crimes are committed by repeat offenders. Seventy-one of gunshot victims had previous arrest records. Sixty-four percent had been convicted of a crime. On August 1st, a gunman was shot down in Albuquerque while he was out on bond. The man shot, Rafael Molina Jr., 33, was a convicted drug dealer, drunk driver and someone...

Media Impact on Youth Violence

...while and after a couple of weeks I found out that some of the youth was doing violent actions after listening to urban music. I wanted full proof so I watched some of my friends and how they acted after listening to urban music and as bad as it seemed the government had a point that couldn’t be augured against. Urban music had influenced drugs, sex, money, crime, and gangs the music that I listened to and liked had become the music that birthed many of today’s criminals. The first point I would like to make would be the fact that music has had a major influence in the way the youth acts and how violent they become when hearing certain kind of music. I have seen kids at my school acting wild and violent when listening to artist like Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flames, and Lil Wayne. I have seen artist like Machine Gun Kelly have malls full of fans waiting on him shutting down local malls and making a riot like scene when they would see him. Machine Gun Kelly has the power of having a voice that’s heard by the masses since 99% of these masses are the youth of today he makes a even huger impact on them because he relates to them as well as they relate to him giving him the power to influence them to...
