Marion Blumenthal Lazan, A survivor of a horrific event called the Holocaust. Marion is a very brave and strong person. Marion never gave up on hope surviving the Holocaust. A lot of people have died in the Concentration camps from typhus or gas chambers. Marion was one of the many lucky survivors to leave the camps and go back to her normal life in the U.S. Marion just being four years of age in a camp where people were tortured and have died from diseases is very scary because most four year olds don’t grow up seeing all of that and being a kid you would be living with your family in a house not in a horrified camp where people slowly died from diseases. Even though she was being thrown around by guards and was living in that disgusting barracks she was one brave woman who did not give up on anything she always had hope that something good would happen. Marion was very courageous she was fearless about a lot of things that were going on around her, seeing people slowly die, people being tortured by guards and living in a bad environment would be a very horrible childhood. Knowing that she remembers all of that is very sad because it brings her back bad memories growing up as a child. Marion did not show that much terror only a little bit of it. She was a brave young girl who had fought through those rough and painful days and nights never giving up hope or faith that she will survive through it all. Over 60% of Jews died during the Holocaust and the many few that survived were really lucky. Marion was scared at times especially times when she thought she was gonna die from the gas chambers or get sick from typhus. Marions dream was crushed after the Germans invaded Holland.
All of the other contestants have great things also but do they deserve the medal of honor? Marion Blumenthal Lazan should win the medal of honor over all the other
