Slum Rehabilitation

...SLUM REDEVELOPMENT - POST PANSHET FLOODS OF 1961 Sejal Nagori 50. The Panshet dam disaster in 1961 redefined the city’s geography, wiped out the modest Pune settings in peth . Nearly half of Poona City was under six feet of water today as the swollen Mutha River completely washed away the earthen Panshet Dam and made a 100-foot breach in the Khadakvasla Dam. The first wave came in the forenoon when the raging river destroyed the Panshet Dam. Another mass of water cascaded into the city when the Khadakvasla Dam gave way in the afternoon. The failure of the dam occurred because of the breach that developed in Panshet Dam, upstream of the Khadkawasla reservoir. The upstream dam released a tremendous volume of water into the downstream reservoir at a time when the Khadkawasla reservoir was already full, with the gates discharging at near full capacity. This caused overtopping of the dam because inflow was much above the design flood. The entire length of the dam spilling 2.7 m of water. Vibration of the structure was reported, as the incoming flood was battering the dam. Failure occurred within four hours of the visiting flood waters. The gushing flood water rendered homeless hundreds of families in just a few hours, besides damaging popular landmarks of that time like the then newly reconstructed LAKDI PUL (SAMBHAJI BRIDGE) and OMKARESHWAR TEMPLE to name a few,” . The top of the STATUE of RANI LAXMIBAI OF JHANSI on JM Road was visible while rest was completely submerged in flood...

Yaacov and Esav

...Q: Rashi explains they were arguing over 2 worlds. Don’t be misconstrued, it wasn’t that Y wanted the next world and E wanted this world, that’s not an argument, nor is it a compromise, it is an agreement. A: The conflict begins with E wanting to switch olam hazeh and olam haba. Shabbat – Ikar vs Tefel * Esav asks his father ‘Do we take maaser off salt or wheat’ i.e maser of tafel products. Esav wanted to elevate tafel, physicality. * The entire purpose of the tefel (secondary, subservient) is to aid the ikar, without the tefel, the ikar couldn’t work. The left hand aids the right, if your interest is in the left then both the right and left fail. To accentuate this point, there is a minimum amount you can carry on Shabbat, you can carry it in a kli as heavy as you want as the purpose of the kli is the ikar, and so it becomes one with the ikar, in perfect harmony, the tefel is elevated to become part of you, the reverse is that the ikar is degraded to tafel, when your focus is on the tefel, you fail on both the tefel and ikar. * 2 dimensions: Orange and orange peel, car and destination, body and soul, right and left hand, salt and food, straw (tafel to food) and wheat (shell to wheat). * Torah (spiritual) and mitzvah (tzavta [Aramaic] – together - sevet [Hebrew] – crew, a group of individuals that work together) when you do an action in this world, you connect it to the source, the next world. To do a mitzva when you are commanded is better than spontaneously...

To What Extent Was Willhelmine Germany Riddled with Internal Contradictions 1900-1912?

...To what extent was Willhelmine Germany riddled with internal contradictions 1900-1912? After Germany was unified in 1871 the political structure of the second Reich was adopted as the constitution for the 25 German states. It was written by Bismarck in 1871 and full of contradictions and it favoured the aristocracy and the upper class. The constitution resembled a parliamentary democracy run by publilcly elected bodies such as the Reichstag and the Bundesrat. The political system was fragmented and there were disagreements in economic, social and military matters. This resulted in the internal hierarchy of the country contradicting the promise of a democracy. Willhelmine Germany was riddled with internal contradictions to quite a large extent as and one of the biggest contradictions in Germany was the constitution itself. Bismarck created the illusion of a parliamentary democracy but kept the power of the elite. The states kept their own government that were in charge of some atters such as suffrage and education. Foreign matters were still controlled by the Kaiser whilst the Bundesrat and the Reichstag had control over the law making process. The Bundesrat, the upper house, is a good example of the illusion of democracy that Bismarck had created; it was made up of 58 members nominated by the states assemblies. It could veto legislation if 14 or more members voted against a bill. Prussia held 17 of the 58 seats which ensured that no legislation was passed without Prussian...

Semuanya itu berkaitan atau bahkan didasari dengan kekuatan spiritual (SQ). Film History

...Beginning and Evolution of film industry in sub-continent Introduction:- Film is a term that encompasses motion pictures as individual projects, as well as the field in general. The origin of the name comes from the fact that photographic film has historically been the primary medium for recording and displaying motion pictures. Many other terms exist for an individual motion picture, including picture, picture show, and most commonly, movie. Additional terms for the field in general include the big screen, the silver screen, the cinema and the movies. Films are produced by recording actual people and objects with cameras, or by creating them using animation techniques and/or special effects. They comprise a series of individual frames, but when these images are shown rapidly in succession, the illusion of motion is given to the viewer. Flickering between frames is not seen due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Film-A true art-form:- Film is considered by many to be an important art form; films entertain, educate, enlighten and inspire audiences. The visual elements of cinema need no translation, giving the motion picture a universal power of communication. Any film can become a worldwide attraction, especially with the addition of dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue. Films are also artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect...
