What Is Classroom Instructors Leadership Style

...CHAPTER TWO REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE 2.0 Introduction A review of related literature reveals considerable research on economic education as it is presently undertaken, as well as research on the characteristics of today’s instructors and students, all with implications for changes for the future of the discipline. 2.1 Economic Literacy One of the goals of economic education is fostering economic literacy among students, therefore, it is important to define economic literacy and relate this goal back to instructor’s style of teaching economics as well as what economic literacy means. Benifits of Language

...BENEFITS OF ACTIVE AND COOPERATIVE LEARNING 1. Provides opportunities for higher order thinking as opposed to passive listening. Reinforces listening to others and gives opportunity for immediate feedback and adjustment of thought. Students talking together provide for input and listening. Students often have to assess the thoughts/ideas of peers, determine whether they “fit” their own, whether they disagree, or partially agree. Students have an opportunity to speak their ideas/thoughts for better formulation. Some often say, “I didn’t think of that” or “That’s a different slant.” 2. Promotes greater student-faculty and student-student interaction. Students assist each other in understanding material/content. This may even help students broaden their perspectives on issues or problems. Professors have an opportunity to move from group to group, listen and if appropriate add comments. For some students this is the only personalization with a professor that ever occurs. Professors may answer questions that might never be asked without the closer interaction. Problems or misunderstandings can quickly and quietly be handled. 3. Increases student retention and limits anxiety. Students are not overloaded with information. Students actually get time to think about, to talk about, and process information. Improves interaction and “talk” (Vygotskian Constructivism) and provides opportunities for students to think about and process the...

...2/21/2009 |Electronics | Instrumentation | Electrical- seminar Topic | www.techalone.com | ABSTRACT Real-time systems play a considerable role in our society, and they cover a spectrum from the very simple to the very complex. Examples of current real-time systems include the control of domestic appliances like washing machines and televisions, the control of automobile engines, telecommunication switching systems, military command and control systems, industrial process control, flight control systems, and space shuttle and aircraft avionics. All of these involve gathering data from the environment, processing of gathered data, and providing timely response. A concept of time is the distinguishing issue between real-time and non-real-time systems. When a usual design goal for non-real-time systems is to maximize system's throughput, the goal for real-time system design is to guarantee, that all tasks are processed within a given time. The taxonomy of time introduces special aspects for real-time system research. Real-time operating systems are an integral part of real-time systems. Future systems will be much larger, more widely distributed, and will be expected to perform a constantly changing set of duties in dynamic environments. This also sets more requirements for future real-time operating systems. This seminar has the humble aim to convey...

Tracing the Origin of the Characteristics Odour of Stock Fish

...TRACING THE ORIGIN OF THE CHARACTERISTIC BAD ODOUR OF DRIED STOCK FISH PROJECT BY ADESINA ADEBOWALE T. (2011) 1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background Information With the ever growing population and the need to store and transport food from one place to another where it is needed, food preservation becomes necessary in order to increase its shelf life and maintain its nutritional value, texture and flavor. Therefore good food preservation techniques must prevent microbial spoilage of food without affecting its quality and nutritional attributes. Fish are recognized as highly perishable having a relatively short shelf life, therefore fish requires proper handling and preservation to increase its shelf life and retain its quality and nutritional attributes. Fresh fish spoilage can be very rapid after it is caught, immediately a fish is caught it loses its natural resistance to attack by microorganism and also start to undergo both physical and chemical changes that in return bring changes in appearance, taste, smell and texture. During fish spoilage there is a breakdown of various components and formation of new compounds. This new compounds are responsible for changes in odour, flavour and texture of the fish. Fish lipids contain omega − 3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA), especially Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). These fatty acids play a vital role in human nutrition, disease prevention, and health promotion. Long chain omega − 3 PUFAs cannot be synthesized...
