I believe in the accuracy of some sensory information such as the sensory of touch, which helps me decipher the difference between something that is either too hot or too cold. ...We'll Be Found.' What inspired the basic concept of the video and who came up with the idea of using sign language? Was it input from Sia or was it your visual response to the lyrics? It was Sia's idea to incorporate sign language in the video -I was told she would like to include it in some way when I received the song to write the treatment. I loved the idea of doing the entire video in sign language instead of lip synching the vocals. A music video is a visualization of the song, and the sign language is an interpretation of the song into a visual language, so it's a perfect fit. What was the purpose behind using so many different kinds of light sources and the shadows they create? I wanted to explore different aspects of sign language. In the first section where Sia is performing under regular lights, the sign language is treated in its linguistic form as a method of communication, and the focus is on the performative aspect of the ASL (American Sign Language) interpretation. The shadow section is kind of a creative expansion on the relationship between signs and their meaning. The shadows of the hands directly transform into things themselves, and create an imaginary world around Sia. ...myself (approximately four weeks ago) at the Boca Museum of Art in Boca Raton, Florida. Interestingly enough, the essence of art in its' entirety is an extreme mental release for me. While walking slowing through the munificence of the beauty and abstract designs by various artists, I was enthralled by several pieces, so much so I recorded the artists names and titles of their works; those that left a stamp of memorable collection in my brains vortex of impressionism anyway. With that in mind, this essay will dissect my experience in written form, while simultaneously creating visual imagery to the reader. While engaged in the enchantment that played on my euphoric senses at the Boca Museum of Art, I was visually captured by several pieces of artistic form. First, I noticed a piece by Paolo Nicola Rossini, the image was still life 14 vortex which depicted a varied influx of light and time. My interpretation of the piece was the artist attempt to convey time travel through a flat surface 3d dynamic; interestingly enough, her artwork could be interpreted as dual by way entrapment to the mind's mental interpretation. When Freud famously referred to dreams as being the ‘royal road to the unconscious’, he meant that dreams were a way in which to access the unconscious mind. Dream analysis in psychoanalysis is the process used to explore the role dreams play in the unconscious (Corey, 2005). The purpose of Freud’s theory of dream analysis is to gain better access to the unconscious in order to bring it into the conscious (Day, 2008). Freud believed that the mind represses painful events that the conscious does not want to remember due to the pain and anxiety they cause (Scharf, 2008). These repressed desires and motivations are freed through dreams which are a direct connection to the unconscious. The purpose of this paper is to show the different views people have of one another, and how the relationship between the two people affects how one views another. In this paper I would like to discuss the views of three different people and how the closeness of my relationship with these people affected their view of me and my view of them. In three situations I was viewed differently by three different people that either knew me very well, knew me just enough to be friends, or did not know me at all and were a stranger that I met at a coffee shop minutes earlier. Critics and audience members (including myself) seem to prefer the aloof Fool because as Isaac Newatt comments, the 1983 version has a fool who is a ‘bit too pathetic’ on the IMDB website for King Lear and Mara W says that John Hunt gives a ‘fairly standard and slightly too foolish portrayal of the Fool’. However this interpretation also has its advantages as the ‘scene after they are driven out of Goneril’s house’ showed the Fool trying ‘in vain to make his beloved master laugh, and Lear’ trying ‘just as hard in return to bring himself to laugh at the jokes’ which made the scene more melancholy and tragic than it would have been with an aloof Fool. This -as Mara W says- ‘allows the relationship to Lear’ to ‘particularly shine’ in this movie version of the play. Further these readings also indicate that the battery of questions for assessing personality need to be implemented fully, rather than making an interpretation based on a few isolated questions. With that perspective I would be disappointed if the rejection was based upon an assessment that was made on cognitive or personality testing when a full complement of questions or a comprehensive test was not administered. This occurs not too infrequently in work place, for the convenience of saving time. In addition, most interviewers, especially in medicine are experts in their medical field; they have little back ground in cognitive and personality testing. While some of these tests have good validity in identifying cognitive and behavior attributes, it requires an expert in this field to be able to properly implement and interpret the data from such tests. I would be not pleased if the rejection was also due to referee’s recommendation or lack thereof. As part of my interviews for my current job (Chair), the Dean of the medical school called few selected other nationally known leaders in the specialty. It was a big concern for me, as the referee’s he chose may not have known me well or well enough.
