Over the last few weeks, I have finished the last pages of Meg Waite Claytons book, The Wednesday Sisters. The books plot concluded to be: Linda becoming a breast cancer survivor, Kath not divorcing Lee but finding happiness and peace out of letting go, Brett and her Mrs. Americas book becoming a best seller ,and she got connected with surgeons to get her hands scrutinized, and Ally had her forever mused, baby boy and Frankie has a life of happiness, and peace at how blessed she realized she was. I also read Louis Duncan’s I know what you did last summer. I would describe this book as a mildly intense thriller with some suspense. The book starts off with the group of four close friends (Julie James, Barry Cox, Ray Bronson, Helen Rivers), who …show more content…
This book was way more gratifying then I had imagined. The words that come to mind to describe this book are love, friendship, dreams and hope. The friends, all uniquely different in various ways, all come together and combine in such an awe-inspiring way. I would say there are positives and negatives of this book and I would like to touch on each both. A positive of The Wednesday Sisters is the eye-opening realization of how putting yourself out there and being yourself is important in forming new relationships. At the beginning of the book Frankie is fearful to put herself out there and being vulnerable in fear of being rejected by Linda. I love this story because it just reminds me how God has a plan in our lives, even when we cannot see it. The next thing I very much enjoyed about the book is the level of friendship the women share. In the middle-endish of the book Linda is diagnosed with breast cancer and after she began chemotherapy, she shaved her head. Linda’s hair was described as someone with “lovely blond hair (Clayton pg. 279), after Linda shaves her head and gets her put into a wig she explains what is happening to the women. Feeling moved, the women all shave their heads and purchase wigs as a sign to Linda that they could sympathize losing their hair (and yes, this is very much a girl thing) and as a sign to show her how much they loved her and are there to support her and be by her side. Lastly, the thing I did not like about this book was the beginning. The beginning is a recap of the girls and sort of resembled the end so it was sort of hard to follow and understand the characters, and organize which names and descriptions corresponded with each woman. Overall, the plot of the
