Messaging to Prepare for Future Challenges

Effective communication according to the businessdictionary.com is a two way information sharing process which involves one party sending a message that is easily understood by the receiving party. Effective communication by business managers facilitates information sharing between company employees which can substantially contribute to its commercial success.

In comparing and contrasting the internal messaging or communication that was used in maximizing the my blueprint concept, I would look at its early set up in 2005, which involved a meeting among the managers in discussing and setting targets for the next five years. In this first meeting the managers were expected based on the responsibility to make plans for their specific business areas where these plans and presentations would be reviewed by senior management.
The means of communication or messaging was in an upward and downward form as in a hierarchical atmosphere.

However, in 2009 and with recasting the role of the CEO as a means of evolving from a spider to a starfish, a leader realized through evaluation that it would be better to have peers evaluate these presentations and plans from the managers which led to the creation of the my blueprint portal. This turned the process from that of a top - down process to a peer to peer review. The process of communication here even though internal, took a different turn where the messaging used was not upwards or downwards, but rather lateral which run across the board, thereby enabling employees to give their views. The change in communication was the catalyst as according to the CEO on page 23, the effects were astonishing and this because the managers were given an added impetus to come out with outstanding presentations and analysis.

He delivers meaningful messages to the employees in new inventive ways that has the business world turned upside down. Compare and Contrast HCL Technologies recognized what areas in the business they lacked in and where they had an immediate need for improvement. Hence the reason why they allowed Axon to come in and “took charge of running many other parts of HCLT businesses”, (2010, p. 25). Nayar knew how beneficial it was to allow Axon to help fine tune HCLT’s weak points and align them to the point where Axon already had reached. Nayar knew that Axon has a stronger consulting background...

Messaging to Prepare for Future Challenges

...Messaging to Prepare for Future Challenges With the growth and expansion of HCLT, there are a few tweaks that need to accommodate these changes. Mr. Vineet Nayar wants to ensure that he’s not just the CEO, but he wants to incorporate all of his employees (or at least those willing) into the fold. We all know that communication is a must have in any business. Without communication, it can lead to many problems from the bottom of the company all the way to the top. With electronics becoming as flourishing as they are in the business world, one must find ways to connect and communicate when face to face isn’t possible. A vital means of attending to company concerns is through effective internal communication - downward, upward and horizontal. It helps increase job satisfaction, safety, productivity and profit and decrease absenteeism, grievances and turn over (Murphy, Hildebrandt & Thomas, 1962). At this point in time, Mr. Nayar is trying to expand the communication levels in his company. Portals are designed to provide more direct and easy access to information which promotes self-service, allowing employees to focus on their work and freeing HR resources for more strategic and value-added functions. (Felix, S., 2001) With that, he implemented a section under his value portal entitled My Blueprint. My Blueprint is an addition from the value portal which originally was for employees to build business relationships with their customers. Employees could generate and...

At&Tmarketing Strategy Information

...AT&T Marketing Strategy Indicates Next-Gen iPhone Could Be Called "4G" BY A.T. Faust III on Fri May 06th, 2011 http://appadvice.com/appnn/2011/05/att-marketing-strategy-nextgen-iphone-called-4g Since time immemorial (read, “2008″), man has, with each impending refresh, debated the potential hot new names for Apple’s certain hot new iDevices. We are in such an era right now. With the upcoming unveiling of the next-generation iPhone, speculation is running wild regarding the name to be bestown upon it. iPhone 4G? iPhone 4S? iPhone 4GS? iPhone 5? iPhone SomethingElseEntirely? We don’t know (and won’t know) until Apple tells us, but some conspiracy theorists have noticed some promoted half-truths coming out of AT&T’s marketing department about what exactly constitutes cellular “4G” speed. Says Chris Ziegler, We’re well past the dream of saving the term “4G” to describe 100Mbps mobile networks, which was the original intent laid out by the UN’s International Telecommunication Union early in the last decade. We’re also well past saving it for LTE and WiMAX… But I’ve realized today that the term has reached new levels of irrelevance, because [At&T and T-Mobile are] not even saving it to describe the full capabilities of their newly-upgraded HSPA+ networks. The takeaway from this line of product-designation is simple: “4G” no longer means “4G,” nor does it even mean the slower 21 Mbps HSPA+. No, “4G” now means anything in the ballpark of 14.4 Mbps transfer capability. Or, you...

10 Good Study Habits to Help Your Child Succeed in the New School Year

...t’s that time of year again. Soon we’ll be trading beach days for school days and once the shiny freshness of the first few days of school wears off, it will be time to get down to business. Particularly for students heading to middle school or high school, the homework assignments become tougher, workloads get heavier and staying ahead of the curve becomes more of a challenge. As a parent, you may ask, “What is the ‘secret behind the A’?” While having effective study skills may be overlooked on the academic journey, we’ve seen this be the tipping point in making good students into great students. Here are 10 good study habits for your tween or teen to help set him or her up for a productive school year. 1. Get Organized. Between homework, tests and extracurricular activities, it’s all too easy for things to slip through the cracks. A planner can help your child keep everything organized and students should write down assignments, appointments and to-do lists. Ask him or her to review items in the planner at both the beginning and end of the day to stay on track. 2. Know the Expectations. Students shouldn’t have any surprises when it come to how and what they will be graded on. By middle school and high school, most teachers will provide a course outline or syllabus, which can serve as a guide for the semester. If expectations aren’t clear, don’t wait until a bad report card comes in the mail. Your student should feel comfortable approaching teachers with...

...Chairman : Family life is too intimate to be preserved by the spirit of justice. It can be sustained by a spirit of love which goes beyond justice. The challenges that occur nowadays create difficulties for families to foster a bond. Talker 1 : Now what is a family? Family is a bond, a long lasting relationship that holds a bond with each other. It all forms when man and women become one and from there a family is born. Talker 2: Family bonding does not happen overnight. It forms with every second, every minute that you spend with your loved ones. Talker 3: A close family bond is like a safe harbour, where we feel secure and where we trust that we have someone always there to whom we could turn to when we need them the most. Chairman : So what is the main challenge to build a strong family bonding in this globalised world? Talker 1: Families face new challenges in later life. In family bonding, divorce permanently weakens the relationship between children and parents. The National Survey of Families and Households found that about one in five divorced fathers had not seen their children in the past year, and less than half the fathers saw their children more than a few times a year. Thus, children’s relationships with both their parents change after a divorce: they become more distant from both, more so even than children living with married but unhappy parents which results in to be less affectionate with their children, less communicative, and to discipline them more...
