THE BONE OF CONTENTION1. Why is bella demotivated? bella felt depressed and demotivated upon learning of the big disparity in theirsalaries, considering that Patty was a new comer and was new in the field.
Is she justified to be so?
Yes, is normal for a person to become demotivated because of having a bigdisparity in salaries of a new comer is unfair. Economically speaking what a person earnsdoes have an effect on the way he/she lives. 2. Describe the relationship between Bella and Patty.
At first Bella was friendly to Patty but after some time friendliness wastransformed into a mere civilized co- existence without the latter’s knowledge the reason why. Then upon knowing of the reassignment, Bella and Patty's relationshipsomehow improved. I describe this as a frictional and situational relationship peopletend to change moods based on their external environments and situations.
Were their behaviors justified? Explain your stand. People tend to react negatively whenever they felt that they are being treatedunfairly but the key there to resolve things is so simple just communicate, taking time tohear both parties concern and grievances.
3.

What are the immediate and long-range problems in this case?
The problem is Bella could not concentrate in her work because she feltdepressed and demotivated of the big disparity of salaries , And also Patty could notconcentrate on the this she had do because she always thinking what was somethingbothering Bellla And what causing her anxiety. Because of these she become consciousof what people might say. She was afraid to commit mistakes and hence afraid to try todo things unless she knew them. Thus her performance suffered. If these problems between the two become worse, it will become a big problemof a company. SUSIE WONG1. Why Susie Wong was always bypassed in promotions?
Susie Wong was always bypassed in promotions because of her bad attitudetowards others. Her superiority complex and the corporate environment were not intuned. She had a number of complains such as unnecessary tasks, inefficiency of somesystem and the capability of her superiors. Seeing from a vantage point, for somereason her father was forced to leave her out of the family business. Her observationsare quite accurate but the big problem at two settings or work environments. It wouldshow that she did not fit in into the corporate culture of her current job.
2. Was Management justified in not promoting her?
In my opinion the Management is just right in not promoting her. She might be that excellent and undeniably brilliant worker but if she didn’t know how to respect others, how she possibly can be a leader and lead others in her department. Althoughpromotions and performance appraisals are totally objective, there are some points there on how you deal with others. Organizations don’t need a superhero, who hasultimately great powers so that he/she can save their ass when there’s a problem. What they need is somebody who knows how to lead people. So that these people will beworking together to help each o ther achieve the company’s goal. 3. How did this non-promotion affect her?
Suzie started to and deliberately accomplished her task half-heartedly andinefficiently.
4.

What are the problems in this case?
The problem is Susie has Lack in motivation, Work Relationship, Communication flow, and corporate practice/culture. 5. Propose ways of resolving these problems?
The management should directly talk to Suzie regarding what was the reasonbehind her non-promotion despite of her excellent qualifications.Susie on the other hand, should realize that no matter how good she is, sheneeds the help of other people to achieve a certain goal.
