There is a lot of controversy about who is the NBA’s greatest player. Now there has been thousands of basketball players in the NBA, but only a select few are honored to be known as one of the greats. Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, and of course one of the most famous is Michael Jordan, they all share one thing; the love of the sport. Since sports have begun people always wonder who the best is. Everyone has different thoughts on who is the best, but the facts will show who really the greatest NBA basketball player is. Wilton Chamberlain was born August 21, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended high school at Overbook in Philli. He moved on to college level on a scholarship to the University of Kansas. His position was shooting guard and small forward. Jordan was 6’6 and weighed 195 pounds. He was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. He attended high school at Emsley A. Laney in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jordan wasn’t a natural basketball player, he was even cut from the team his sophomore year. He worked on basketball all summer and became an incredible athlete. After his high school career he went to the University of North Carolina on a basketball scholarship. Michael was an extraordinary basketball player and amazed his fans. He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the 1984 draft and was the 3rd overall pick. He played 9 seasons for the Bulls then retired then retired suddenly to go play baseball for the Birmingham Barons. Jordan decided to return to the NBA and played another 4 seasons with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan yet again retired for 3 seasons and came back but for the Washington Wizards for 2 seasons. Michael was one of the presidents for the WA, Wizards at the time and planned on playing for them to attract fans and make them a better team. Jordan ended his career with 32,292 points, 6 NBA championship rings. He played in every All-Star game when he was in the league, and 5 NBA MVP’s, Rookie of the year in 1984. Jordan was also a 6 time Finals MVP, Defensive player of the year in 1988 and 3 time All-Star game MVP. Michael Jordan was inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2009. …show more content…
Wilt Chamberlain was a giant and played basketball like a champ should play. Larry bird was tall and skinny but had an incredibly smooth shot and was difficult to defend. He at one point led the nation in his 3 point shooting and astonished everyone. When the players in the NBA saw Michael Jordan rising up they must have thought he was going to be good but no one could have predicted how good he would turn out to be. Michael proved himself in his first year playing as a professional with his strength and determination to revive the Chicago Bulls and make them a great team once again. Basketball isn’t all about just having the skill, you have to love the game and play with passion and not let the little mistakes ruin the whole game for you’re team. It’s a sport of who’s team is molded together the best. You have 4 other players to share the ball with and your character comes out if you are selfish or scared it shows no matter what.
