Marketing in my own words is displaying and producing a product properly to meet the social expectations or trends. Marketing also involves properly targeting clientele, being creative and aware of economics.
“Marketing is the performance of activities that seek to accomplish an organization’s objectives by anticipating customer or client needs and directing a flow of need satisfying goods and services from producer to customer or client.” (Perreault, Cannon, & McCarthy, 2011).
“Marketing is about identifying and meeting human and social needs. One of the shortest good definitions of marketing is “meeting needs profitably.” (Kotler & Keller, 2012).
Marketing is extremely important in organizational success in fact marketing may be the most important thing in organizational success. While management, finances and job skills can be learned and so long as good protocol is followed these areas will be successful. Marketing on the other hand requires an intuition a good eye and sense of what is trending or what can be a successful trend. Marketing is not just a commercial or a bill board it is fine tuning a product to meet consumers demands in every way. Marketing also has a social and ethical responsibility, it can and does influence society both young and old not only in what is trendy or necessity it also influences what is socially acceptable. Marketing affects everything and everything can be used in marketing. Marketing is the foundation of any good business, several businesses have been successful because of there ability to properly market there product and develop products to shape the success of that company. Businesses that have become successful because of good marketing and continue to be successful because of good marketing are Mc. Donald’s, Nike, REACH Air Medical Services.
