Kabuuan ng Aking Pagkatao
Katrina Eisa Mendoza

ALONE BY MY WINDOW

I sat closer down to my window
While looking at the green meadow
Birds are singing merrily
And trees are dancing simultaneously

Truly peace and silenced dominated in the scenery
The lovely and beautiful voice made by the canary
As I closed my eyes while experiencing the peacefulness I tried to remember life’s happiness

But that happiness was indicated by sorrow
Smile and happiness are not show,
My past bewildered me
Darkness is all I can see

Though my heart is full of bruises
Still my faithful love to Him never ceases
In spite of being alone by my window
I continued to close my eyes courageously

I hoisted my hands in the air.
I lifted my voice to worship Him
And as I opened my eyes, the heaven’s care
Talks to me, “it’s not dim.”

At the end, I was back with sorrow
Still searching for an open window.

MOONLIGHT SADNESS

I sat down, uncomfortable
Dark night invades,
The wind murmurs
And the brook waters are serene

I look into sky’s horizon
As tears are falling from my eyes, I cry
Stars beyond seem vague,
Starless night conveys hopelessness

There is pain, chaos, and regret
I really cannot forget
Uncertainties come, my Love
Our days keep remembering me

You’re not here for me to hold on
My happiness is gone
This story love turns to its ending;
It makes my heart hurting

I am here alone, hopeless
Missing and depending on your love
Adorned with extreme gloom
Still here to wait for you

The sparks beyond are now vivid
I smile and glance with anticipation
As I see glimmers of beautiful twilight above
Eliminating my moonlight sadness.

Big Dad’s wishes

I wish I am your beloved mom
And you’re my precious baby in my womb

I wish I am your bright light
In day you were born

I wish I am your shoes
In your first training of walk

I wish I am your little puppy
Who will be your playmate all the time

I wish I am your mentor
Teaching you ABC’s and 123’s

I wish I am your childhood sweet heart
Who knows all your secrets and lies

I wish I am your brother
Who carries you at my back when you fall asleep

I wish I am your parents
Who will witness your success in your graduation days

I wish I am your beloved
And you’re my perfect one

I wish I am your rest
In your times of dreary and stress

I wish I am your strength
When you are defeat and weak

I wish I am your baby
And you’re my number one mom

I wish I am your heaven
And you’re my lovely and sweet angel

I wish I am your Big Daddy
And you’re my prodigal child and held you in my arms

I wish I am your life
And you’re my great possession, my only one.

SA TULAD KONG LATA
I.
IV.
Sinipat ng bata ang kalangitan
Awa at habag, kanyang kahilingan
Ako’y nauuhaw, sana’y matubigan
Gutom at uhaw, mabigat sa damdamin
V.
VI.
Lumapit ang isang kabigha-bighaning dalaga,
Habag na may halong pagmamahal, na nagbigay halaga.
Isang daang piso, kanyang inihulog

...Chapter 5. MANAGING ACROSS CULTURES Strategic Predispositions Most MNCs have a cultural strategic predisposition toward doing things in a particular way. Four distinct predispositions have been identified: ethnocentric, polycentric, regiocentric, and geocentric. A company with an ethnocentric predisposition allows the values and interests of the parent company to guide strategic decisions. Firms with a polycentric predisposition make strategic decisions tailored to suit the cultures of the countries where the MNC operates. A regiocentric predisposition leads a firm to try to blend its own interests with those of its subsidiaries on a regional basis. A company with a geocentric predisposition tries to integrate a global systems approach to decision making. By the same token, a predisposition toward any of these profiles can provide problems for a firm if it is out of step with the economic or political environment. Meeting the Challenge A number of factors are moving companies to facilitate the development of unique strategies for different cultures, including: 1. The diversity of worldwide industry standards such as those in broadcasting, where television sets must be manufactured on a country-by-country basis. 2. A continual demand by local customers for differentiated products, as in the case of consumer goods that must meet local tastes. 3. The importance of being an insider, as in the case of customers who prefer to “buy...

...Strategic Public Relations – case 02 Karola Römer STARBUCKS: ‘Should Starbucks collaborate with all of its stakeholders or only a select few?’ Starbucks, generally considered to be the most famous specialty coffee shop chain in the world, today has over 6,000 stores in more than 30 countries. Many analysts have credited Starbucks with having turned coffee from a commodity into an experience to savour. Starbucks’ aim has always been to be one of the most recognized and respected brands in the world. Since it made its IPO (initial public offering) in 1992, Starbucks has been growing at a rate of 20 per cent per annum with profits at a rate of 30 per cent per annum. Starbucks has always felt that the key to its growth and its business success would lie in a rounded corporate brand identity, a better understanding of its customers and a store experience that would generate a pull effect through world-of-mouth. Howard Schultz, Starbuck’s founder and chairman, had early on in the company’s history envisioned a retail experience that revolved around high-quality coffee, personalized, knowledgeable services and sociability. So Starbucks put in place various measures to make this experience appealing to millions of people and to create a unique identity for Starbucks’ products and stores. Schultz felt that the equity of the Starbucks brand depend less on advertising and promotion and more on personal communications, on strong ties with customers and with members of the...

...Extract Freeing Up Obesity By ROBERTO DE VOGLI (Professor, Department of Public Health Sciences, University of California, Davis) February 13, 2014 http://www.themarknews.com/2014/02/13/freeing-up-obesity/ The obesity epidemic is out of control. Since 1980, obesity rates have tripled in most countries, and there are now almost two billion overweight individuals in the world. Policy recipes to fix the problem abound. More education, fewer cars. More bicycles, less TV. The list goes on and on. So far, though, public-health interventions have failed spectacularly. But why? Although the rise of obesity is often described as an effect of specific individual and lifestyle choices, the problem is largely a byproduct of deeper political and economic changes in society. In a recent study published in the Bulletin of the World Health Organization, a group of researchers, led by myself, found that, when compared with more protected economies, countries adopting more aggressive deregulation policies experienced faster increases in body mass index and consumption of fast food and soft drinks. After taking into account alternative explanations and competing risk factors, we concluded unequivocally that the freer an economy is, the fatter its people are. How does an unregulated market relate to the rise of obesity? Through market concentration and the rise of food oligopolies that flood markets with cheap, unhealthy, ultra-processed products, in addition to fast food and soft drinks...

...Complication: Crescordia is at a crossroads, trying to decide whether or not to adopt the disposable fixation device. This question has come about due to their market share erosion, as the company currently does not offer a resorbable product line. Innostat offers a resorbable product (albeit, in the early stages of development) and gaining market share in both product lines. The decision of whether or not to enter the resorbables market now is a crucial question we should address. This decision will not only impact the current line of business but also the well being of the company as a whole in the future. Resolution: Crescordia needs to enter the resorbables market in order to stay afloat due to the fact that the current fixation device industry is shifting towards this new technology. The segment of the resorbables market that we should dive into should be the pediatrics sector. Typically, the pediatrics market has been viewed as a taboo market to experiment in, however the benefits of successfully operating with resorbables is valued very highly by the child patients, the doctors, and the industry as a whole. This market, if entered correctly, has a potential to have an extremely high return. To begin with, the customers of the resorbables are already demanding the products from the manufacturers. The doctors literally are asking the CEO when this product will be available to use in surgeries. The demand thus far has been unmet, and this creates a huge opportunity for...

...Journal three: The Cold War was a conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union that began after World War II, in 1947. Although the nations never physically fought each other, they continued to exchange deadly threats for decades. This war marked a clear difference between American and Soviet traditions and their needs and interests after the war. America saw Stalin as untrustworthy as a result of refusing to hold free elections in countries occupied by the Soviet army after the war, even though the agreement had stated otherwise. This ultimately was a red flag for the west, they believed that Stalin would try to take over the world using force, because Communist ideology explicitly stated that Communism would ultimately consume all other forms of government and take over the entire world. Many Americans were against communism and thought it restricted rights and freedoms of the people, and free elections was a custom of the nation. In contrast, Soviets did not trust American, especially after they were consciously not informed of the Manhattan Project, or the building of an atomic bomb. Then after tragically succeeding in the bombing of Japan, America refused to share this new technology with USSR. As a result Soviets were afraid the United States might start a new war and use this technology against them. Overall, the clash of interests between these two nations existed primarily as a result of the west favoring democratically elected governments and independent...
