FACTS Sally Bright (Petitioner), filed for divorce and custody of 14 year old daughter, Chastity. John Bright (Respondent) also requested custody. The court ordered temporary custody of the minor child to Petitioner and visitation with Respondent every weekend. Petitioner will be moving to another part of the country to take a job. These depositors, unlike those in unincorporated bodies and collective investment companies, cannot be accused of ignorance or greed in choosing the avenue to invest in as the nidhi companies are recognised under Section 620A of the Companies Act, regulated under its provisions and further registered with the Reserve Bank of India as per the provisions of Section 45IA of the RBI Act 1997 . It is surprising that the nidhi companies, despite being allowed to borrow from and lend only to members against security such as jewels or immovable property, face a liquidity crunch. Some acts of commission and omission by the companies which have become sick are: AAcceptance of deposits without any limit or determination of the deployment of the funds (deposits were accepted even for 280 months in some cases); AInvestment in immovable property to house branch offices that were started arbitrarily; AChange in management; AAdvertisements inviting deposits that violated the provisions contained in the July 6, 1996 government notification. The Government, vide November 1, 1999 notification, directed that nidhi companies, recognised as such under Section 620 A of the Companies Act, shall not carry on any business other than borrowing and lending in its own name. ...DOUBLE LOOP LEARNING – AN EXPERIENCE This example is a bit too technical, but as I believe that this is a good example from my experience about double loop learning (we used to call this as “Thinking outside the Box”), thought of putting it the least technical form as possible. I was working as a software architect in a particular client’s team. That software system was pretty old and matured (the system was in existence for the past 20 years) and hence we used to treat the existing guidelines in use as the best available. As the system consisted of several hundred independent software programs (also known as modules), each of those has to pass a huge amount of data (names, addresses, other program related data etc.) between them during the operation. As a standard and also to ensure conformity, they used to employ a pre-defined structure to pass data (which will have a fixed size limit with each field having specific starting and ending locations. for e.g.: For address, the first name will be there in the first 30 characters of that structure and middle name will be coming in the next 30 and then comes the last name, followed by address line 1 and 2, each of which is 35 characters in length etc.). People that modify their body aren't being completely accepted in society. There are some cases where it is accepted but it is mostly frowned upon. Understanding is the first step to acceptance so it is my goal to help everyone understand. Body modifications are a big part in my life even if it doesn't seem like it. I stretch my ears and to me that is a big deal and it is something that I really enjoy. There are so many different reasons that people modify their body. Some people do it in order to fit in and others do it to be different. One big problem I have noticed about having body modifications is trying to get a job is a lot more difficult. This shouldn't be a problem though because we are all humans and no matter what any ones choice we should accept each other for what we do and who we are.
