Knowledge of the foundations and history of nursing promotes an understanding of how nursing has, and will continue to, evolve over time. By researching its foundation and history, one sees how professional nursing has continued to demonstrate it’s ever-broadening scope of practice, thus demanding practicing nurses to achieve higher levels of education and pursue continued education. With higher levels of education and continued education, nurses’ perspectives also broaden, provoking a significant change in their ownership of their profession. It seems to provoke a more vested interest in the growth and development of professional nursing as a whole. At least that’s the change that I witness happening within myself.

There are many trends demonstrated by the interactive timeline. The ones that I find most interesting are research and technology, education and discrimination.

In the early years of nursing, technological growth occurred at a much slower pace than it occurs today. Technologic advancement brings about more in-depth research. With more research comes more knowledge of proper diagnosis and effective treatment. Today, rapid advancement in technology demands that nurses stay up to date with current diagnostic and treatment modalities. It has influenced my perspective of nursing in regards to realizing that I didn’t go to school to learn, “this is what I need to know to be a good nurse.” I learned that you never stop learning how to be a good nurse because nursing is constantly changing with the more knowledge we gain through research.

This constant learning and keeping up to date with current practices leads in to the trend that nursing is evolving into a profession that is requiring higher levels of education. With the growing complexity of our patients’ needs and our broadening scope of practice,

Heath Care Provider and Faith Diversity

...Module 2 DQ1 What does the Bible say about caring for the sick? How do the roles of the various team members within the healing-hospital blueprint address caring for the sick from a biblical standpoint? From a Biblical viewpoint it states in James 5:13-16, is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise the up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (New International Version, James 5:13-16). If you are righteous, pray, confess your sins and you will be healed. I feel that this verse states that if you are a follower of the Lord and you praise God you will be relieved of your sickness and your sins will be forgiven. The roles of various team members in the healing hospital address caring for the sick by including spiritual assessments, being cultural diverse, not biased, and respect the dignity of others beliefs. They allowing the patient’s and family members to identify their needs of a spiritual leader and performing prayer or practices that allows components of healing. Williams-Orlando, C. (2012). ...BACHELOR OF COMMERCE (B.COM.,) PAPER – 2.1 MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS UNIT – I CHAPTER - I SECTION - I Definition of Managerial Economics Managerial economics refers to those aspects of economics and its tools of analysis most relevant to the firm’s decision-making process. According to MeNair and Meriam, managerial economies consists of the use of economic models of thought to analyze business situations. Some writers consider managerial economics as the integration of economic theory with business practice for the purpose of facilitating decision-making and forward planning by management. The underlying idea of all these definitions is that managerial economics means economics applied in decision-making. So we may consider managerial economics as a special branch of economics bridging the gap between abstract theory and managerial practice. It may be pointed out here that effective decision-making at the firms’ level calls for a careful analysis of a choice between alternative courses of action. Economic theory offers a variety of concepts and analytical tools which can be of considerable assistance to the manager in his decision-making process. In fact actual problem-solving may require many skills and tools which are not available in the traditional economist’s. For example, knowledge of accounting and of statistical concepts and methods, which are not taught in economics, can help the analyses to apply more effectively the economic...
