Have you ever done something but at the end you regret it? The book, Montana 1948 written by Larry Watson is narrated by a 12-year-old named David who suffered losses as a result of crimes committed by his uncle Frank he is a doctor of the town of Bentrock and he is a raper of the native Americans. You cannot hide from your mistakes; they will always catch up to you no matter what happens.
For example, David suffered family problems and losses because of his uncle. Marie always knew what Frank did to his patients Since she didn’t want to get examined by Frank because he's a doctor that took advantage of his patients especially Native Americans. " Uncle Frank's was parked in front of the house"( 86) . David saw the pick up which later on gave him an idea that his uncle Frank murdered Marie while no one was there because he didn’t want his crimes to be known.
In the book, Grandfather Julian sent his people to Wesley's house to set Frank free from the basement " I think they're from grandpa's ranch I saw them drive down the alley"(131). David was peeking in the window when his mother Gail see's a truck circling the house and it was four men trying to break into the house to get Frank from Wesley's house since he arrested him in his own house so the whole town wouldn’t know what he always did.
Also Julian always treated Wesley really bad because he got mad he arrested Frank in the basement for the things he did which Julian didn’t even care. "If it meant whipping your ass I should've got you straightened out".(119) throughout this novel I had seen that Julian defends Frank more than Wesley since he always makes him feel bad he tells him that why did I give you the uniform Julian didn’t care what Frank did to the Indians when he raped
